It would seem that Halal meat is now pretty much the norm here in the UK, brought about to appease the Muslim population and to Hell with the rest of us. Certainly many fast food outlets - too many to know all of them, restaurants and even some supermarkets. So what's to do? I have found myself buying meat from my usual supermarket which as far as I know hasn't yet publicised joining the Halal gauntlet. I avoid fast food outlets (although the rest of my non-Christian family don't seem too bothered) and always order a vegi dish from restaurants. However I am seriously considering becoming a vegetaian - this will be by no means an easy choice given the other two in the household will want to continue with a meat diet.
So what are your thoughts? Tips? Ideas? Has anyone else made this decision? Is Halal taking over in the US yet? I understand that as well as cruel slaughter methods the animal is also prayed over to Allah. I'm pretty sure that at some stage I have unwittingly eaten Halal. I'm guessing this wouldn't be considered a sin given I had no knowledge of it.
God's word says to abstain from blood, things strangled, and meats offered to idols....Allah is an idol
Let's look at this in context:
1 Corinthians 10:
23“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.
24No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.
25Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience,
26for, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.”
27If an unbeliever invites you to a meal and you want to go, eat whatever is put before you without raising questions of conscience.
28But if someone says to you, “This has been offered in sacrifice,” then do not eat it, both for the sake of the one who told you and for the sake of conscience.
29I am referring to the other person’s conscience, not yours. For why is my freedom being judged by another’s conscience?
30If I take part in the meal with thankfulness, why am I denounced because of something I thank God for?
31So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
32Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God—
33even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.

Eating halal meat is only wrong if someone you are with believes it is wrong and your eating it causes them to stumble.
I'm not aware of halal meat being sold anywhere outside of specialty markets in our neck of southern California, but I do know that there is far more hummus on the shelves than guacamole these days. Then again, our government actively stands in the way of any attempt to source our meats. In Minnesota most our meat comes from Wisconsin, and I don't think them good ol' boys are going to buy into the muslim thing any time soon.
I wouldn't buy it if I knew the money was going to jihadists. But again, are we able to know that for sure?
