Another highly singles-related topic for you.. :D

I am thinking of switching email servers. The one I have belongs to a very biased news source [cough]yahoo[cough] so I thought it would be interesting to see what others are using...

It's an anonymous, mutiple-choice allowed poll.

Yahoo, mostly. Their news is mostly gossip, not news. Ugh. I sometimes use Gmail. But to not often at all.

I've been with Yahoo Mail since 1998 and I don't believe I've ever had a virus. That said, you're right - Yahoo News definitely has viruses. Haha!

Yikes! What the heck kind of email attachment did you open? That's really unfortunate.

I didn't even know it was possible to get viruses from the news! I'm sorry to hear it. I can understand your distrust of Yahoo then. But your problem is likely that you were running three computer virus programs all at once. That would bugger up your computer big time.

I have them on a few of those, but Outlook I guess.. I still call it hotmail.. is and always has been my favorite. I don't really use email for anything other than my fantasy sports leagues though, so I have thousands of unread emails lol.

Outlook actually isn't new. It formerly was Hotmail, which got revamped into Outlook. That's what I use. :)

AOL? Do people even use that anymore? Is it still at thing nowadays?

...oh, and my answer to your poll, title, question, and possible crossover is:

"Yes."

[SUB]I once had AOL. I currently have yahoo, gmail, outlook (school related), live, hotmail, onenet (work related), icloud mail, and... I think that's all currently. There was another time in my life where I had twice that many... (not to mention all the memberships on sites where you could pm me...)[/SUB]

Email? People still use email? Even facebook is old these days - everybody has gone to snapchat. :p

I still have a yahoo account, mostly for when a website requires an email-based signup just to download a file. Sure, take my email account. Send me as many advertising emails as you want, I don't care. :D

As for news, most "news" sources post news clips that they know the masses will want to see. Yahoo is no different. Their news is selected and worded to attract readers. The more people they have clicking on links, the more advertising money they get. As Tintin said, mostly gossip.

What wrecked my moms once was firefox Internet explorer. Not as bad as my computer but it took her weeks to get hers cleared up.. mine we had to bring away and get it completely renewed
Was it firefox or internet explorer? Those are two different (and competing) web browsers.

And you can't get a virus from the news... Someone might have hacked your computer. Or you might have had a browser hijacking program.

As long as you don't want to save anything on your computer (pictures, music, document files or the like) you can simply google the name of your computer and "factory reinstall" and get instructions on how to reset your computer to the way it was when you bought it. Most computers come with a backup copy of the whole system on a small, protected partition. It will wipe out the WHOLE windows system and replace it with a fresh one. Anybody can do it, a child of four could do it. Basically you turn your computer on, dribble a certain key (for this Thinkpad I'm using it's F8) choose the option to wipe out windows and reinstall, and let the computer do its thing.

What's the alternative to email? I use it often when I'm applying for jobs. That and snail mail. Don't look at me like that. LOL.

I use gmail, after a short but frustrating battle trying to get hotmail (yeah yeah, outlook, blah blah blah) to cooperate with my phone.

Gmail, Yahoo, and Outlook.

I've actually started using email for social correspondence again, to keep up with a few friends I made during my travels. So retro. I get that giddy pen pal excitement when I get letters back
