.........how so?
Anytime geo politics rearranges the landscape such as this and the Arab spring, one might hold the changes up to these prophecies especially now days IMO.

We can interpret world events in the light of Scripture but let's not interpret Scripture in the dark of world events.

Perhaps you could give us an exegesis of chapter 17 and show us why you think this may be true.
In a nutshell, I can see this as a step in the breaking up of a variant reconstructed yet unofficial roman empire in the form of the EU. Bottom line is could this be the positioning of the 10 kings who will hand their power over to the antichrist? There is a huge economical component here, and my guess is not a good one...
I am at a loss to see how you can get this out of Rev. 17. Who is Babylon the Great and the Beast of chapters 17 and 18?
Is Brexit the next phase in setting up Rev 17:12?
Probably a system, kind of like a mysterious construct of political, social, and military forces all working in concert with the powers of iniquity.
I have been saying that England would leave the EU for years. They are brother Ephraim and are to be punished by the Assyrians (modern day Germany) and the ten kings of the last resurrection of the Holy Roman Empire...
Rev 17:10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
but is emerging now in Europe...
Rev 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
Rev 17:13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
Rev 17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
Verse 14 shows they will be in power at the return of Christ...
Rev 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
Rev 19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
Rev 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
Rev 19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Rev 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Rev 19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
Rev 19:18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
Rev 19:19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
Rev 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Rev 19:21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
Sorry that passage is long but it is completely relevant.
I see Babylon the Great as Jerusalem, the Beast as first century Rome, and the seven kings as the first seven Roman emperors. The ten kings of verse 12 were the ten tributary kings of Rome who had no kingdom of their own because they received their authority from the beast for a little while.Probably a system, kind of like a mysterious construct of political, social, and military forces all working in concert with the powers of iniquity.
Brother Ephraim? Punished by the Germans? Where in the world do you get your theology? On the back of a Corn flake Packet? We British are not Jewish but descended from a hotch potch of European peoples including Celts, Romans, Saxons, Vikings and Normans.
I concede that the EU is the latest attempt to rebuild the Roman Empire but there have been several other attempts in the past and all of them have failed one way or another. The last one being Nazi Germany, Whether the EU is the actual beast of Revelation is open to debate. Whatever it is present trends appear to be that it wont last. I dont think the UK will be the only member to leave.
Do you see Jerusalem as the capital center of the system of Babylon?
