God is concerned about the outward appearance, because it proves that the heart is right.

Yes, and if the heart is right, the dress will be smart.
To come against someone who is pro dressing smart, just shows how far Christians have fallen.

Nothing wrong with dressing smart, but a lot wrong with refusing to listen to someone and devaluing someone because they choose not to. Paul reprimanded Peter for this same action. Jesus spoke sternly against the Pharisees for judging the outward cup. And you're still arguing this idea?

Do you want people to value you? You might say well I do dress smart, but what if someone has the heart attitude that if you're not wearing Armani you have nothing important to say?

That's no excuse for people dressing scruffy.
The fact that people come against me for dressing smart, Just proves how far the Christians have fallen.
Anyone would think I'm coming against dressing smart, NOT dressing scruffy.
And most people come against me for wanting Ministers to dress smart.

I will not watch any Minister who dresses scruffy, As they have no respect for God, their Ministry or the people they minister to.

Please note the word, "Might", in Heb 9: 15. It changes your belief.
1 Jn 1: 8--10--1 Jn2: 1--2. says forgiveness, cleansing and restored back to righteousness, are conditional of repenting and confessing sins, Then Jesus will plead to God for us.
please note the free gift of righteousness reign in life. is a gift, and cannot be optianed by mans own doing.

if it could, the the old covenant would not need to be changed. (also already quoted)

have you ever thought about taking up gematria.

4 You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.Galatians 5

21 I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose Galatians 2

Righteousness is a free gift, but that doesn't mean that we can live in sin.
Forgiveness, cleansing and restoration back to God, comes through confessing sins and repenting.

Hi there Royal,

If you know the spiritual application of the "landmark" you have to know that the new covenant didn't translate (moved) the ancient landmark. Didn't you know that the old landmark is still useful today?Hebrews 9

God cares
hi back fredoheaven
how would you write it,

believe in a god through jesus christ, yes the one they reject as a savior, so even( 70 ad was removed.temple of stone)

causing what we call a split from jewish to christain etc

what land marks are you talking about.
15 Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.

3 "You shall have no other gods before me.Exodus 20: The Ten Commandments

the same god, jesus was telling you about, is now saying believe through my son. not through a law, that needs a temple of stone because of the requirements of the jewish law. (no animals for forgiveness.) spot the difference. there is more etc etc etc
v

John 3: You Must Be Born Again
For God So Loved the World
16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

if you have anything to add feel free. bro

Well as much as you want Jesus to have an Armani robe. He actually rebuked this saying did you come out here to hear someone with soft clothes?

With this mindset you might have been one of them accusing Jesus because He didn't dress in a suit and tie. It was the Pharisees who would comment who is this man from Galilee? They were judging people on the outward appearance to judge their heart as well.

My senior pastor started his church in the late 60s early 70s era which drew a lot of hippie types. A lot of them showed up barefoot and such. Their hygiene needed a bit of attention also.
As the church grew it was called to his attention that body odors remained in the carpet and chairs where they would set. He was asked to address the issue in which he did.
He hired a contractor to rip out the carpet and replaced it with a wooden type floor. He replaced the padded chairs with wooden benches and steel folding chairs and each time after service he would mop the floors and wipe down the chairs and benches.
He has since gone to be with the Lord but what an example of a man of God.

You have the freedom to dress smart, I have the freedom to dress scruffy and vice versa.

Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, (Touch not; taste not; handle not; Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

I think I know who you are referring to and if not, one similar. But now many of those junior pastors who were the hippies from the '60's are off on cruises and conferences every other week. Funny how things change :)

Hi Royal and thank you for your thoughts and I love you in the Lord. But one thing for sure and I wouldn't condemned you for "believing in a god through jesus christ", "the same god, jesus" ya know am a little bit offended because i do not serve "a god" with small "g"

1 Corinthians 8:13 ..., lest I make my brother to offend.

But if you believe Christ for salvation then cheers!

2 Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

Dress smart or dress scruffy is all about standards.

Isaiah 62:10 Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people.

You are a typical false grace teacher, Twisting the scriptures.
Jesus wasn't coming against smart clothes, Please keep Matt 11: 8-9 in it's right context, Jesus was saying the people came to see a prophet, Then Jesus said soft clothes are for kings and those in Kings houses,
And we Are Kings, [Priests and Kings unto God]. And when we go to the Kings house, [Church], we should dress in smart clothes.

People with your opinions, Just shows how far the Church has fallen.
There is no respect for God among many Christians today.

I didn't say Jesus was coming against "smart clothes", but He was coming against people judging by clothing.

In Fact Jesus Himself said, take no mind to what you wear... And I'm not sure why you think you have the right to call me a false grace teacher, who are you to judge me? Or do you not know the Scripture that says don't judge the Lord's servants. I haven't called you a false teacher (which is a silly religious word anyway).

Maybe you've forgotten what the fruit of the Spirit consist of? Let's see love, gentleness, kindness, there's a few... where's that at in your reply to me?

Matt 6:31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

Yes he is from your neck of the woods cross....lol. and it is sad to see that over the years things have changed and self importance seems to rule a few of the junior pastors.
I'm in New York where a lot of the assembly are scattered abroad from the ghetto to the upper class delivering the same message to the different types of lifestyles. My wife and I have served in the ministry here and there when needed.
I think that a lot of these pastors should take a lesson from Elijah and send their servants if ya know what I mean.
Oh what little time we have as England has dropped out of the e.u. and the church once again divides on the gay issues. The call for Jews to leave France because of anti-Semitism...natural disasters crushing people's hopes and lives. Drug addiction being at a all time high, unwanted youths and children wandering the streets joining gangs just to belong to something....the list goes on and here some sit wondering if their attire for church is appropriate. Yeah things have changed my friend....
