I heard this live on the radio this morning - I almost peed myself laughing, very funny straight talking even if the bit about them needing us more than the other way around was a little far fetched! If only all politicians straight talked like this! Seriously I would never have the cheek to talk this way in the presence of so many enemies.

I think they were on the verge of feeding him to the lions. Lol

I'd personally like to know how you think Brexit plays in to Biblical prophecy. I don't see it.
I believe the EU is part of Bible Prophecy. I think it is one of Ten Global regions that form the Ten Toes. I cant see how the UK leaving will make any real difference. There are other countries waiting to join. The final form of the EU has yet to be revealed

Farage is brilliant, always liked him, for years and years he has been giving speeches like the one today. Here is one of my favourites. I have even typed a transcript in case you have rubbish internet.

[video=youtube;2gm9q8uabTs]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gm9q8uabTs[/video]

“Good morning Mr Van Rompuy. You’ve been in office for one year and in that time the whole edifice is beginning to crumble. There’s chaos; the moneys running out; I should thank you, you should perhaps be the pin up boy of the Euro Sceptic Movement.

But just look around this chamber this morning, just look at these faces; look at the fear; look at the anger; poor old Barroso here looks like he has seen a ghost. You know, they are beginning to understand that the game is up. And yet in their desperation to preserve their dream, they want to remove any remaining traces of democracy from the system. And its pretty clear that none of you have learnt anything.

You know when you yourself Mr Van Rompuy say that the Euro has brought us stability, I suppose I could applaud you for having a sense of humour, but isn’t this really just the bunker mentality.

You know, your fanaticism is out in the open you talked about the fact it was a lie, to believe that the nation state could exist in a 21[SUP]st[/SUP] century globalised world. Well that may be true in the case of Belgium, who have not had a government for six months.

But for the rest of us, right across the member state in this Union, and perhaps this is why we see the fear in the faces, increasingly people are saying we don’t want that flag [points to EU flag]; We don’t want that anthem; We don’t want this political class; We want the whole thing consigned to the dustbin of history.

And we had the Greek tragedy earlier on this year and now we have the situation in Ireland. Now I know the stupidity and greed of Irish politicians has a lot to do with this. They should never ever have joined the Euro, they suffered with low interest rates, a false boom and a massive bust. But look at your response to them.
What they are being told, as their government is collapsing, that it will be inappropriate for them to have a general election. In fact Commissioner Rehn here said they had to agree their budget first, before they would be allowed to have a general election .

Just who the hell do you people think you are! You are very very dangerous people indeed. Your obsession in creating this Euro state means that you are happy to destroy democracy. You appear to be happy for millions and millions of people to be unemployed and to be poor. Millions must suffer so that your Euro dream can continue.

Well it won’t work. Because its Portugal next, with their debt levels of 325% of GDP, they are the next ones on the list. And after that I suspect it will be Spain. And the bailout for Spain will be 7 times the size of Ireland, and that moment all of the bailout money has gone. There won’t be anymore.

But its even more serious than economics. If you rob them of their identity, if you rob them of their democracy then all that is left is nationalism and violence. I can only hope and pray that the Euro Project is destroyed by the markets before that really happens.

any bets on how long till the EU collapses?
Soviet Union lasted 70 years. Depends when you consider the EU becoming a political union that stifled democracy. NOt much of a coincidence when Soviet Union died the Maastricht treaty came to life. We see the continuation of the Soviet Union reborn in Western Europe.

Difficult to say how long this will go on for, the Euro will collapse first. With UK no longer contributing the demise will be quicker.

Personally, I predict the EU will take on the shape of over twenty distinct countries and an elite with something more than a bloody nose.

Nigel Farage and his United Kingdom Independence Party, (UKIP), obtained five million votes in last years election.
Unfortunately because of our electoral system they only got one member in Parliament. But they are the largest
UK party with seats in the EU because we use a form of proportional representation for European elections. I reckon he must think that all his birthdays and Christmases have come at once. I am a keen supporter.

I'm very fond of Daniel Hannan, personally. Any one of them would be a darn sight better than what we have across the Pond.

Wanna trade?

Forget Boris Nigel for PM!!
Could he be another post war Churchill though? Churchill was fantastic as a leader during war, but floundered when war was over. Could it be same story with Farage?

Nigel is brilliant at pointing out the problems with the EU and giving them the absolute truth, but I wonder if he would make a good Prime Minister, he has achieved what he had set out to do, but would the change from Euro Sceptic to Prime Minister be a good move?

Daniel Hannan is another amazing politician who is often over looked and in my opnion I think he would make a better Prime Minister than Farage.

Here is his recent speech at the Oxford Union just before the vote.

I agree for what it counts (the sniveling rebel colonist that I am). Farage has served his purpose to a large degree. I'm not saying that he has no place in post-Brexit governance. Quite the opposite- he has earned a seat at the table and his ideas for political economy are among the best in the marketplace of ideas (he has no peers or parallels running for POTUS right now).

That said, Farage spent his career fighting what seemed to be an unbeatable hydra. But he never gave up on influencing the debate with a Churchillian (as you point out) dauntlessness. No doubt, he has exceeded all expectations with his leadership in Brexit, etching his name in the history books with a story worthy of Plutarch.

Often, that is all even the most extraordinary men can do.

Racism - Are you people really racist?

Do you know what is happening in the UK? People are saying to anyone foreign, when are you going home.

That is pure hatred. Do you know in the world wars the ruling classes forced millions of people to fight each other and die.
Over what? I am a bigger power than you, and got a bigger army.

In the UK we never really took Europe seriously or understood what it meant as a caring supportive community.

Nigel Farage is a Facist, and has stirred up the uggliest side of our community. Now the muslim idiology is equally facist but if you praise a man who knows only how to destroy and not create, you are not doing Gods will.

And the truth is 50% of our trade is with Europe. Being out of the EU is just we do not want to become one country with europe, because we are culturally and in outlook too different. But we do want trade, but not millions of migrants, who will raise our population by 20% in 10 years. The country literally cannot cope.

So this mocker if he speaks to your hearts, who is the Lord of your hearts, the Lord of love or the Lord of this world?
Do not be deceived, nothing good is coming out of this nationalism, it is just plain biggotry.

Brilliant speech! Were I British, I think Hannan would be my preference over the names currently being floated. I'm sorry to hear he is overlooked in your country.

He is probably the most well-known British politician in my country. I believe this is owed to his personal mission to rally and strengthen the Anglosphere once more. He has purposefully sought our attention to bring us back to the signing of the Magna Carta and the English Civil War.

If Hannan cannot be Prime Minister now, he really deserves a shot at Foreign Secretary.
