The topic was battling sin.
Galatians 6: 4-5 is speaking to carrying our work/burden/responsibilities as a believer to others and God.
I could never regard this as carrying a cross and I do not believe that scripture supports that.
Paul is affectionately exhorting here, but where does he finish in this letter....
Galatians 6:14
But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. [SUP]15[/SUP] For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. [SUP]16[/SUP] And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.
Amen

Wouldn't that be nice...
Galatians 6:2,5 KJVS
[2] Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
[5] For every man shall bear his own burden.
But I guess there is nothing to bear since Christ bore it all?
This 'looking unto Jesus' is a call to bear our cross with joy as well...
Hebrews 12:2-4 KJVS
[2] Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. [3] For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. [4] Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
