Romans 12:1-2
King James Version(KJV)

1.) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2.) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

I have read this thread long ago, but want to ask (again), what to do when a soft answer does not turn away wrath-- for person u talk with thinks that even if u speak softly, u are still wrong... And even when u try to right the wrong, it isnt good enough, and efforts are still wrong. So whether u speak or keep silent, nothing matches.. just right the wrong, but wc doesnt take one step and one day, but hundreds.. And what else to do when soft answer does not turn away wrath, and what else..

We have two responses to threats, flight or fight. And we fight with anger.

These two responses can be blamed on the adrenal medulla glands of the kidneys releasing hormones that trigger the two responses when the body senses stress. These glands are thought to be non essential for life which is pretty interesting. I doubt Adam and Eve had fight or flight before the fall...maybe that's when we inherited this phenom.

We are not responsible for the way others behave or what they prefer to believe about us. And quite often if people want to believe something that much., they will find a way to reason it out and believe it regardless of how much you try to talk them out of it.

God is the most important one to consider and He knows our hearts and our motives. People who prefer to be rude and get angry here on CC will have to deal with those issues themselves. People who accuse others will also have to deal with the fall out of that problem. Being an adult Christian means we are old enough to walk away from an angry person and not have to have the last word. God is aware of all of it and He will be your protector and He is responsible for your reputation.

He is more than able to take care of us. I find His grace to be sufficient for all these matters including when people seem to have an unfair advantage over us in life. They really don't. God is the One we answer too and His expectations are much higher than anyone we meet here. And if we are following Jesus we will be in the right place and at peace with allowing Him to fight our battles .

If you are simply asking if someone does not accept our apology, or explanation for some act or word spoken, and there is no physical threat, then we are only required to apologize for any believed wrong we may have done to someone. How they respond is not up to us, but them. This also applies in the opposite. That being, when someone says or does something to wrong us, we must forgive them, even if they do not want our forgiveness. Jesus told us to do this, and the justification for doing so is found in the prayer He taught us. Forgive us OUR trespasses, as WE FORGIVE those who trespass against us.

Now, if there is actual physical danger involved, then we should attempt to simply walk away, and avoid physical conflict. However, if attacked, we are surely within our right to defend ourselves.

Not sure this is the answer you are seeking, because I was just a bit confused by the wording of your questions.

Proverbs 21:24

The proud and arrogant person--"Mocker" is his name-- behaves with insolent fury.

Proverbs 27:3

Stone is heavy and sand a burden, but a fool's provocation is heavier than both.

Proverbs 3:13

Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding,

Proverbs 3:17

Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace.

Psalm 119:51

The arrogant mock me unmercifully, but I do not turn from your law.

A translation of Philippians 2:4

not looking to your own advantage only but each of you to the advantage of the others.

Proverbs 18:2

A foolish person doesn't want to understand. He takes delight in saying only what he thinks.

Proverbs 28:11

The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.

Colossians 2:

2 My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,
3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Matthew 15:8

"'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.

All above in this post compared to:

A way of looking at Matthew 7:12

So in everything, do/say to others what you would have them do/say to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
