That moment... When you need something with caffeine, but you really don't want coffee cause it's hot....

Oh the struggle is real!!

Nowdays it's so hot in the morning that I don't want hot drinks in the morning; but idk if I really wanna start drinking energy drinks instead...?

Anyways, I'm awake but not as awake as I wanna be lol

"Welcome to McDonald's."
"I'd like a cup of coffee with three pieces of ice in it."

"Say, where's my coffee?"
"Sorry sir, he's trying to make it but the ice keeps melting."

Actually this reminds me of something someone at work said to me. It offended me. In fact I reported it to the manager, told him I found this really offensive.

What happened was, I offered the coworker a bite of chocolate and he said, "Nah, it's too hot today for chocolate."

BLASPHEMY!

Am I the only one here who gets frustrated when people tell someone outright to not look for a mate and just focus on god, pray and wait? Has anyone else noticed that there is a shortage of threads where someone simply prayed and waited and found the love of their life without even trying to look for someone?? Yeaaa.. just sayin.

Today is my high school friend's birthday. Sadly, he died of meningitis 3 years ago. He and another classmate were my closest friends in my senior year. He was openly gay, and shared with us his story, how he was sexually abused when he was younger. I was a new Christian then, and as far as I remember, that season of my life, I was pre-occupied with debating my teachers about why the Sabbath day wasn't strictly on a Saturday (Seventh Day Adventist high school). Stupid. Adam and I were able to contact each other after graduating from college but weren't able to catch up because of our busy schedules. Time flew fast and it was our other friend who informed me of his sudden death at the age of 24. Life is so short. So many people in need of a Saviour :(
Oh Abby that's terrible you lost a good friend
I'm so sorry may God comfort you. I lost a friend who wasn't close but when its abrupt or like me I found out about a year later I didn't keep up the contact when abrupt its like okay they're gone but its tough because It was so quick I know how you feel let us know if you want more prayer in that area sweet? I can't imagine for you what that was like I sortof can but she wasn't close . I never looked at Jeremy riddle song sweetly broken again I'm scared to it was one of her songs she liked. Thinking caring and praying hugs sis so sorry to hear...

This reminds me of my frustration at the drive-thrus when they don't know what black coffee is (or are to conditioned to ask their questions that they don't really listen to their customers):

McCholesterol: And to drink?

Me: A black coffee, please.

McCholesterol: Would you like any cream or sugar with that?

Me: (through gritted teeth) No. just. black.

McCholesterol: And would you like anything else?

Me: Yes....to be listened to! - - - **sobs uncontrollably**

My Son has an ear infection, he's 10, he's not much of a cuddler, except when he's sick. I cuddled him most of the morning. He's probably going to end up with Post Traumatic Cuddling Syndrome.

My mom rents a house in another town and the AC broke. We had to buy a new one and it only costed $1,700. Now, that seems like a lot of money, but I had read online that it was going to be about $6,000. So when the guy told us the price, we were pretty grateful.:)

I guess that $6,000 is the national average? I've heard that Texas is a cheap state to live in, except for Austin of course!

Wow those are some steep prices, but I don't know anything about the cost of ac repairs. All I know is that I'd rather just buy a few portable AC units at around $300-$400 each and place them in the most used rooms instead. If one breaks, its just $300-$400 to replace. Plus they use less electricity than a central air system..

Just posted in the ladies forum, but thot the guys may have ideas too. so, here.
Mosquitoes? We have had them since the beginning, and often used sprays/spray cans to rid of them. although we have citronella outside, are there other mosquito remedies u have been using aside from those sprays in cans that work in screened houses? I mean w/ flies there are fly traps like those for mice u can just leave (not spray), but with the wet/rainy season and also pineapple season? here, there just seem to be so much biting inside and out. They didnt use to bug me much, but now i know theyre biting-(.

Those are the only methods I've ever heard of here in the states. I used to live in new jersey and we had a lot of mosquitoes there because there are a lot of small creeks and wooded areas. I also was in the philippines one summer when I was a child and I remember the nets around the beds. Here in california they used to spray malathion from helicopters to eradicate the fruit fly population in the 90's and I remember that for a couple years after they sprayed there were no flies or any kind of flying insects around anywhere, but the spraying also made some people sick and it supposedly can ruin car paint.
