Paul actually quotes from the Septuagint, not the Hebrew, because the commandments are not listed in the same order as the Hebrew. As far as the difference between kill and murder, I think essentially they are almost the same thing! At least as far as people are concerned. Because if you kill a person, you are murdering them, right? However, in defense of the KJV, perhaps the meaning has changed over 400 years. Maybe kill implied murder? But against the KJV, by using the larger meaning of kill, this has the implication that even the state kills a person as punishment for a crime it is wrong. And killing would also encompass accidental death, unintentional manslaughter because that would be killing and therefore against God's law.

Lots of implications in these words. But as a translator, I would have to go with murder, not kill, at least in modern English.

Thanks Angela. Maybe I am thinking in law enforcement terms lol. To me kill is maybe something someone does in self defense or hunting? Murder is something someone does illegally. Or maybe it just has a different meaning today then back then.
 
I've actually been to a church were they started chanting, "KJV, KJV, KJV!"

Couldn't wait to get out and never went back. Scary stuff.

God has every right, and only God, to make any changes in His word from OT to NT. If there are changes, it is necessary changes with the NT in mind.

KJV translators? No.

You are caught in a circular reasoning:

KJV is perfect because it has no erros in it.

Whenever some error is shown to you, it is not error, because KJV is perfect.

You cannot get out of this, because it has become your idol and part of your faith/confession. It takes away your critical thinking and becomes a dogma.
 
KJV sounds fancy so many prefer it.. Makes some feel lofty and clean
low budget Bibles are beneath them...

Others are just self experts.. bc they can look something up they 'know' above everyone else what the HS meant in each word..lol

its just words.. You can read every Bible and book to help you and still be blind to whats really in it bc its the HS that gives you the mystery... They knew the scripts front and back and still crucified Christ.. What you think you can gain from whats written is wasting time if you have nothing revealed to you..

You have proven nothing, especially from the perverted NASB. Please show me an error in the KJV?
 
Those who held the originals crucified Christ.. Knowing whats written and how the orignals meant it isn't something you can gain by the written letter alone or from 1 certain Bible.. clearly

As stated above, it causes arguments because there is always someone accusing us of being heretics because we read a different bible version than them. Some people make their bible version their god

What I have with NASB? I do not use English Bibles.

And we had a whole thread about it, you can look it up again and read.

Welll it still feels like someone is stabbing me in the side, my stomach hurts, and I'm too nauseous to eat and have been for a couple days now so just grand lol.
I'll be fine though it could be a lot worse
