I have a simple question for you who think repentance is simply a turning from sin. VVhen you pray to the Lord and tell Him, "Lord I'm sorry for what I've done. I won't do it again, ever. I am so so sorry." are you capable of fulfilling this promise? This oath? Or is it empty? How often have you repented of a particular sin but you continue to repeat it again and again? So then, tell me, what good does your form of repentance serve you when you're still stuck in the same sin over and over again? VVhere is the power in this repentance? VVhat good are the tears, sulking, and show when you are incapable in your flesh to fulfill this promise to God?

That is the way I see your repentance. People have been attacking hyper-grace and saying that its a license to sin (which is false) and also disagreeing with its presentation of repentance ("a change of mind"). Yet, my question is, what good is your repentance? Hasn't history shown the fruit of the traditional concept of repentance? It is void of confidence before the Lord, assurance in salvation, and the love of God (and the grace of God). In some ways it actually completely ignores what Jesus accomplished at the cross. Confession of sin for the sake of forgiveness? Has Christ died in vain? Did not His shed blood give you the remission of your sins?

There is so much more than meets the eye when it comes to repentance. It is tainted with religion and self righteousness. It tries to acknowledge Jesus, but treats His blood as if common. Incapable of doing that which God set out to do. Granting us forgiveness, taking our sins away and justifying us before God. Jesus being able as our High Priest to save us completely. All of this is tossed aside for a concept of repentance that deals with sin confession as if it maintains salvation. That is where people should truly repent. Change your mind about sin confession for forgiveness because it misses the mark that is Christ Jesus on that cross paying for your sins. You are forgiven, it is not something you seek. It is found in Christ.

This could go on for another couple paragraphs to define repentance, but I will keep it short. Repentance happens daily, it is through mind renewal. It is, after all, a change of mind. It is coming into agreement with God (yes, even about your sins) and then coming into the reality that Jesus has set you free from sin because you're a new creation. Also too, under grace sin's dominion is broken. So the accusation of licentiousness (license to sin) is unfounded because people are explicitly stating that we are set free from it and are dead to it. VVe don't ignore sin. VVe turn to God for His strength. VVe repent in that of growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. In Him is victory found.

Why is everybody putting soo much emphasis on our sins????? We are not judged by our sins, we are Judged by our acceptance of Jesus as our Lord and Savior! We are Judged by our name in the Book of Life.

I would worry more about my name being in the Book of Life than about any sin i commit!

You bolded the last part, but not the "IF". I think the "IF" is the key word in that verse.

then why make all things new? the curse doesn't enter in. Rev is very clear that practicers do not enter.. the idea is ludicrous.. the whole plan of God is a waste if he really doesn't care about people living and doing what the curse brought.. blood cleanses you from past sins.. does not cover practiced sins that anyone continues to walk in.... what do you think the baptism was the John preached???? you laid down your life for Christs....... if sin was still ok He had NO reason to die, it was to take away sin not be a lasting cover up....... ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS AND SAD THAT PEOPLE THINK SIN IS OK BC OF GRACE.. no we are to work it out of us by walking in the spirit and growing from glory to glory... there is no glory in a 20yr Christian who still does everything they did before Christ.. where is the transformation? there wasn't any..... people cherry pick Peter as an excuse sometimes but leave put that .. I have yet to read anywhere in Gods word that He says staying the same and keeping sin is ok.. I guess it is if you want no part in the kingdom..

No...that is 2 separate things. Sin being cleansed by the blood of Jesus is because of what He did.

Not changing because of grace is a common mis-understanding.

Grace never leaves you where you are. Grace is never a license to do whatever you want....some may think that because of the gospel. Paul was accused of saying people can sin all they want as he says he was "slanderously" reported.

There are 2 aspects to grace. The very first thing that Jesus does with the woman caught in adultery is that He gets rid of her accusers - the religious Pharisees that wanted to condemn her because the "bible" said so in the Old Covenant...she was to be stoned. ( the law condemns us )

Jesus was the only one qualified to condemn her but He didn't.


1) acceptance grace - which has nothing to do with our behavior - as seen with the woman caught in adultery. Our Lord beautifully says " I do not condemn you".

It is in knowing you are not condemned that releases the other aspect of grace.

2) now, go and sin no more - this is empowering grace.

Empowering grace enables you to be who the Father sees you are in Christ now because you are a new creation in Him.


The religious mindset says to the woman caught in adultery - 'Do not sin and we will not condemn you."

The grace of God and the blood of Jesus speaks of better things in this New Covenant of grace!

"Knowing" that we are not condemned in Christ "releases" the life of the empowering grace to transform us. It's all about Christ! It's His fruit being manifested in us!

Acceptance grace which is not based on our behavior needs to be cemented in our hearts before empowering grace is able to be manifested.


What believers in a self-effort/self-performance D.I.Y. holiness/righteousness based mindset and the self-appointed "fruit inspectors" have a very hard time with is the "acceptance grace" part...this just drives them nuts...and I understand why..it is scandalous and it "conflicts" with their religious man-made traditions. I know it did mine too!...

It's when one repents and confesses their sins, Is when their sins are remitted, Lk 24: 47. Acts 2: 38.

The only thing that saves us is the Grace of God,the gift,his Son and our Faith-belief that He has paid our sin debt in full.On judgement day our Lord has already paid the judgement that is against us with his life for breaking Gods law,the ten commandments.
Our repentance is not what saves us,only what our Lord has done for us saves us on that day of judgement.If one is thinking that our repenting of sin is part of what saves us,you need to rethink this.
To repent of our sin or not is the question.God is remaking all of us.Let him do it in his way at his pace. So God is saying if you turn from your sins, walk in righteousness you will not be condemned.

Now the word "God" has been replaced by "religious mindset". Do you see the condemnation of God
and His intentions. This is why these words are not neutral or innocent, they are rebellion.

Now the idea being pushed is knowing nothing condemns you, you will now be righteous.
Now there is a truth here but it is not this.

Jesus says knowing "love" this enables you to be different. Knowing you are forgiven, that
though you failed the standard you can now walk in it by the love at work in your heart.

The reason these preachers do not use these words because love is not at work powerfully
within them, they only know love from God accepting them, not love from deep within reaching
out overflowing to everyone around. It is why the language is so brittle, and empty, and their
goal is not to preach Christ crucified and Him alone, but condemnation is evil and you must be
free from it, because that is why people sin.

It is why we the standard bearers of righteousness are the enemy. Love has not set them free.
They are pitiable poor and blind, knowing they are condemned by the law, yet not having the
answer rising from within, Christ my saviour has set my love free within, forgiven my sins, healed
me so above everything I bring Praise unto Him, Halleluyah.

What the verse is talking about is NOT "how" you walk., it's talking about "where" you walk. We are children of the day NOT the night anymore. Are you walking IN the free gift of salvation given to you by Jesus Christ and His imputed righteousness? IF you are saved you are IN Him and walking IN Righteousness because you are saved and one of His. So you are always IN THE LIGHT AND IN THE DAY. 1 Thess.5:5 for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We do not belong to the night nor to darkness.

We believers are not children of darkness., we are of the day. Praise Jesus!

Many believers including myself for years have read that verse wrong making it be interpreted on the "IF" of how we are walking when it actually means "where" you are walking. The only way the blood of Jesus Christ will cleanse us from all sin is when we first get saved., not "when" we are walking properly.

If anything we need the blood all the more if we sin., right? And when we are His sons and daughters we always HAVE the blood because it was shed for us when we first believed. His sacrifice is NOT conditional to the believer. It is done and always works on our behalf. But first a person must be saved. That is the IF of that verse.

I'm amazed that I never heard that until in my mid 50s. Find good teaching and you will be blessed and upheld by His Word.,"Thy Word is truth" We can be saved and have all kinds of blessings but never know them and use them if we don't study His Word and find preachers and teachers who preach it day in and day out.

We believers need to hear it and read it and hear it and read it allll the time so it finally transforms our thinking so we begin to walk by faith and not by sight. The Holy Spirit WILL transform our thinking if we make ourselves available to His Word and repent of our own mind sets of what we think something in the Bible means.

For some reason., God wants us to be chewing on and meditating on and bathing in (soaking in) His Word. It's only then we will get these major life changing revelations from the Bible. We can be as sincere as any other pumpkin in the pumpkin patch., but our sincerity does not impress God. It's our obedience to His Word and His Holy Spirit. Being AVAILABLE to the Bible and the Holy Spirit teaching., and repenting of our own mindsets., ONLY that will actually set us free to finally see the Scriptures. The flesh lens we have now will be put aside when we repent...(change our minds) and dare to believe what HE says and not what WE think He says. We need a mind renewing daily. And He gives it if we want it.

Daring to believe is amazing and it's the first of many steps we take into a dynamic Christian walk in the HolySpirit.
