Rachel, there seems to be a hint of you implying bias in the media and maybe the trump family against the Trump woman as I am reading through your recent posts here.
Serious question, not to put you down, but I don't see it. Why do you believe that, if my assumption is true.
If I am reading to much into it, aw well, I have been wrong before, will be again...

well i do think there is bias...

melania's speech has gotten only negative publicity...nobody even knows how the -rest of her speech- went...and some of the coverage that i have seen had the poorly hidden subtext that she is a ditz who had to cheat on her speech...

tiffany's speech got -zero- hype...except for an article i saw that said positive things about her outfit...

on the other hand the first of the trump men to speak got tons of praise...i even saw an article where someone said it was better than any of his father's speeches...

ivanka hasn't spoken yet...but the media mainly seems to treat her as her father's shadow and hasn't done much to portray her as her own person...

as for trump handling this situation 'responsibly and admirably'...let's not forget that his campaign -lied- about it for an entire day...they even tried to throw a 'my little pony' character under the bus...

so it isn't a non issue...it is yet another example of a candidate whose first instinct is to lie...and yet accuses his opponent of being a serial liar...

The difference is, the Trump campaign has already owned the fact they lifted it from Michelle's speech. I respect their owning it. Trump is able to call a spade a spade about this issue, but his supporters are having a very difficult time doing the same.

following up on this...eric trump made his speech tonight...it may be instructive to see tomorrow how much and what kind of hype his speech gets compared with the speeches made by the women so far...to see if it fits the pattern i see...

and then of course there is ivanka's speech tomorrow night...

one final note...eric trump insists that he wrote the entire speech himself...for his sake i hope that statement is entirely true as i already suspect that critics are running the trump family speeches through plagiarism detection software...

i don't like the undertone of that picture...a woman shouldn't need to be a college graduate in order to be able to say she has achieved something in life...
