I'm not trying to say I had a revelation or anything but God did show me something today. I have been really contemplating the last couple weeks about the Saturday Sabbath deal. I have always gone to church on Sundays and really never gave it much thought. Lately with all the Sabbath and Law threads got me to really search the scriptures. I have even started looking at church's in my area that might hold Saturday Sabbath.
Well today I spoke to a gentleman who was holding bible studies on Friday's. He specifically asked for only Saturday Sabbath keepers. Well we talked and he was trying to convince me that the Saturday Sabbath was the right one and how if we love God we would keep it. I listened to him patiently and told him I would consider what he said.
Well tonight when I got home my wife and I started reading the bible and God had me turn to Romans and specifically Romans 14 and 15. I'm not going to paste both chapters but it talks about how we shouldn't be critical of others for believing one way or the other. If someone wants to eat a certain way we shouldn't condemn them for it and vice versa. It also goes as far to say if what we eat causes another to stumble then we shouldn't eat in front of them.
Romans 14:5-9 really hit home. Basically says if someone says one day is more holy than another and others feel all days are alike who are we to criticize each other? Isn't this what we are all doing right now on this forum? We sit here and criticize each other for things that scripture says not to do. I am as guilty as anyone.
These two chapters aren't new to any of us but for some reason it just sank in a little deeper tonight for me.
Just my thoughts and how scripture has basically set me free from feeling guilty about the Sabbath day and how I can live with everyday being the Sabbath day for me.
