It is God that will keep us Christians from stumbling
and He will make us to stand in His presence of glory - blameless -
The "Christians" above refers to those who have determined
to actually live righteously by walking in the Spirit,
being led by the Spirit, following the Spirit, etc.

These true believers are NOT involved in habitual sin!
When they sincerely repent of their sins ...
they (the sins) eventually are overcome and (the sins) go away!

Okay, thanks for pointing out that we do NOT have free will.

Philippians 2:13 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

Malice and slander and envy and hatred and outbursts of anger and such like these things are all sins Gal 5: 19-21 - and not just the "biggie sins"....selah.

Yes, of course, it is HIS WILL to accomplish these things!
What does this have to do with our NOT being robots with no free will?
Please, some critical thinking is necessary.
Is that possible?

I am joined to the Lord in the spirit. If my mind goes bad and acts up - I believe the Lord will discipline ( child train in Greek ) His children. My true will is always with the Lord in my inner man ( Romans 7:22 ) - we are one.

Here is some critical thinking..."can you with an act of your will" un-born yourself from being a human being? When you critically assess that then apply it to be being born again with the incorruptible word of God which lives and abides forever.

Here is some more critical thinking to consider..is our Lord really a liar? Can He really be trusted? :

Factor in the truthfulness of Jesus and whether He is lying to us too when He said " The Holy Spirit , He will be with you and in you forever". John 14:16-17

This is the gospel message as Paul said in Eph. 1:13 - we are sealed with the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 1:13 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvationhaving also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,

Ephesians 1:13 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvationhaving also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,
Let's deal with these 2 items ...

John 14:15-24, NLT
[SUP]15 [/SUP]If you love me, obey my commandments.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth.
The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him.
But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.

Everything is keyed on verse 15, which is followed by the connector "and".
True saving faith demands not only faithfulness, but also obedience,
i.e. without it, all of God's promises are null and void.

Ephesians was written ONLY to those saints in Ephesus who were FAITHFUL,
NOT to those who were being UNFAITHFUL, e.g. habitually sinning!

our Holy Father has given us His life, His Grace, His Faith, and His strength so that
we may obey Him in our gratitude and do our very best to walk in His Holy Commandments -
He calls us His elect and chosen, this is what separates us from the heathen and non-believers.

ROMANS 6:4
Therefore we are buried with hIm by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up
from the dead by the glory of The Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

11John 1:5-6.
And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee,
But that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
And this is love, that we walk after His commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.

A very big factor in looking at scripture is the "lens" you use to view the scripture.

In the Old Covenant " you had to do or else"..If you do this..then I God will do that.." = conditional on the person performing

New Covenant =
Jesus has done it for you which empowers you to "do"

Let's take a look at a common scripture with these 2 mindsets.

Jesus said.." If you love Me, you will keep My commandments"

Old Covenant mindset = conditional on the person "doing"..

So they would read it this way.."IF you love Me you will keep My commandments"..
in their mind it's saying.."Keep My commandment and you will prove you love Me."

New Covenant mindset = it's a description of who you are in Christ.

They would see this "Jesus' love is in me so I keep His commandments"..it stems out of relationship and it is not conditional but descriptive of the believer.

1 John 4:18-19 (NASB)
[SUP]18 [/SUP]
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.

[SUP]19 [/SUP]
We love, because He first loved us.

Then there is more..lol..there seems to be more sometimes eh?..just what are His commandments anyway?..Be perfect as My Father in heaven is perfect?...can we possibly do that?..of course not..that is Moses 2.0

Ahhh..found His commandments in 1 John 3.

1 John 3:23 (NASB)
[SUP]23 [/SUP]
This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.

...the "lens" that we view scriptures greatly affects us. We try to mix the Old Covenant ( before the cross and resurrection ) with the New Covenant and we get a religious mess.

Religious traditions of men, philosophies of men, ..what we were told all our lives in church or in the world etc. ..all influence how we view scripture. Sometimes some of our "sacred cows" can get sacrificed and it's painful.

Colossians 2:8 (NASB)
[SUP]8[/SUP] See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.

2 Peter 2:1-22, TLB
“… there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly tell their lies about God,
turning against even their Master who bought them; but theirs will be a swift and terrible end. Many will follow their evil teaching that there is nothing wrong with sexual sin
But God condemned them long ago and their destruction is on the way …
false teachers are fools—no better than animals. They do whatever they feel like
and they will be destroyed along with all the demons and powers of hell. That is the
pay these teachers will have for their sin. For they live in evil pleasures day after day.
They are a disgrace and a stain among you, deceiving you by living in foul sin on the side
… They train themselves to be greedy; and are doomed and cursed. They have gone off the
road and become lost like Balaam … These men are as useless as dried-up springs of water
… They are doomed to the eternal pits of darkness … they lure back into sin those who
have just escaped from such wicked living
. ‘You aren’t saved by being good’, they say,
‘so you might as well be bad. Do what you like; be free.’ But these very teachers
who offer this ‘freedom’ from law are themselves slaves to sin and destruction.
For a man is a slave to whatever controls him (A). And when a person has escaped from
the wicked ways of the world by learning about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and then
gets tangled up with sin and becomes its slave again, he is worse off than he was before (B).
It would be better if he had never known about Christ at all than to learn of him and then
afterwards turn his back on the holy commandments that were given to him. There is an old
saying that ‘A dog comes back to what he has vomited, and a pig is washed only to come back
and wallow in the mud again.’ That is the way it is with those who turn again to their sin.”

This passage condemns both false teachers and their followers to eternal hell.

Believers who choose to be slaves of sin again are the foolish rebellious believers:
(A) that Paul warns about in Romans 6
(B) that become worse off than unbelievers
Who on CC preaches to go forth and sin all you want? I want names!

Well..that depends on if you have a grace-based mindset. Then you would have told me "first" neither do I condemn you.

If you had a religious mindset - you would say "Don't sin and we will not condemn you"

I like Jesus' way better which is grace-based.

I thought He came to beat people into submission and command that we do what He says to perfection or else when we're forced into the water to be baptized for salvation we'll be held under until we cry uncle. I read it. It's on the internet. It must be true.

Sometimes, I do not know how to respond to people, but you, FreeNChrist, you just hit it on the nail each time!!
Careful, he might be one of them.
