Unless of course you are fighting against Him instead of just resting in Him.
I was under the impression we are to be fellow laborers with Him, being a faithful servant and all. :)

Matthew 12:30
He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

Hebrews 4:11
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

The harvest is great, but the laborers are few. :)

Then blow the dust off of it, read it, and then believe every word of it. :)
now there is some good advice. you should try that sometimes, instead of just cheery-picking every verse on sin, judgement and hell.

you paint a picture of an angry god who must be appeased instead of a loving Father. this sinners in the hands of an angry god trash needs to be tossed out.

Right, as if we are equals or sumptin, eh? My what a high opinion some have of themselves, and what a low opinion they have of Jesus.

Like I told you before, there are plenty of preachers who will tell you just what you want to hear, just bring cash or credit. But I freely give what I have been given freely by God. They speak of what they see and hear, and have learned of other carnally minded men, therefore the world being yet carnal hears them and receives them, as the world receives it's own. But we who are taught by God, speak of what we see and hear of Him by way of His Spirit, but those who are of the world, and those who are still in darkness, receive not what we preach.

I do not seek the honor of men, but the honor that only comes from God. :)

John 13:16

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

Matthew 21:28-31

[SUP]28 [/SUP]But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.

[SUP]29 [/SUP]He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.

[SUP]30 [/SUP]And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.

[SUP]31 [/SUP]Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you."

John 16:

7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;

10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

The Comforter reproves (convicts; brings in guilty) the world of sin and vs 9 tells us the sin for which the world is convicted --- because they believe not on me. Those who do not believe on (or in) the Lord Jesus Christ are convicted of sin.

The Comforter reproves the world of righteousness because those who do not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ deny his resurrection and ascension. By the standard of the world at the time the Lord Jesus Christ spoke those words, the pharisees were righteous, while the Lord Jesus Christ was rejected and crucified. In righteousness, He was removed from the earth. To this day, the world calls evil "good" and calls good "evil".

The Comforter reproves the world of judgment because the prince of this world is judged (vs 11). In John 12, we read these verses:

26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.

28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.

30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.

31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

33 This he said, signifying what death he should die.

34 The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?

35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.

37 But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:

Clearly, the ministry of the Comforter is to reprove the sinners of this world.

Believers are chastened and rebuked by Father because He loves His children (Heb 12:5,6). And as we endure the chastening by Father, afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby (Heb 12:11).

Yeah, that all sounds so comforting, don't it??

this sentence:

Clearly, the ministry of the Comforter is to reprove the sinners of this world.

should read:

Clearly, the ministry of the Comforter is to reprove the unbelievers of this world.

Apologies for any confusion. :)

I find comfort in the chastening of Father because I know He loves me and He is conforming me to the image of Christ, even though I currently live in a broken tabernacle.

We try to run from God when He chastens us. However, we should run to Him and we should be thankful He loves us enough to want to remove from us those things which cause us nothing but heartache.

That was beautifully put to show the will of the Father, good job ISIT

The will of the Father and the world of sin which is unbelief in Jesus which the Holy Spirit convicts the world of - but us believers are convicted/convinced of Jesus as our Savior. because we believe it Him and what He has already done for us.

Jesus did the "will of God"...and delivered us from this present evil world

Galatians 1:4 (KJV)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

It is God in us that gives us the will and the ability to do His will.

Philippians 2:13 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

The Will of the Father is to believe on Jesus.

1 John 3:23 (NASB)

[SUP]23[/SUP] This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.

Cherry picking..... yep, you should know a lot about that, using scriptures that make it sound that God doesn't convict His children of sin, making spoiled brats outta them & all.....

no I just think that context and balance are vitally important. just picking out every " negative" verses and saying this is what the Bible says is wrong, because that is not the whole story. sin, judgement and hell are real, but that does not mean that that is all the Bible says.
