One of my best buddies in college had a P94 named Sasha. Had me borrow it for over a week. Oh the memories.

I know a gun dealer, and it is pretty amazing to handle all the guns that he gets. I've not gotten a chance to fire any of them sadly, but there is something beautiful about just feeling it in your hand and looking down the sights. It's a great opportunity I wouldn't otherwise have.

I have entirely too many firearms. My armory is substantial. If the world goes all Mad Max, I'm in good shape.

I aspire to be you one day. I need to get a shotgun to get squared away.

Still not sure what I should get. Open to suggestions. One use-home defense.

I've wanted to own guns of my own since I first shot a .22 rifle at the age of four or five with my daddy kneeling behind me helping me to brace...I could SOOO see it becoming a rather expensive hobby.

I view it as comparable to owning a car. Most people should own one as a necessity. But you can invest a lot.

You have a great dad. I had to get my own dad into guns myself in a bizarre inverse. He insisted on starting with a .45 because he thinks that round could take down an elephant.

Mossberg 500 or Remington 870. Either is very reliable and very open to customization. The sound of the pump slide on a Remington 870 in the middle of the night will make most grown men mess their pants instantly.

I'll probably end up going with an 870. Dad's got one and I really dig the magpul furniture you can add to it. (<3 Magpul)

I am rather enthralled with those nifty autoloading shotguns though. I just don't know how reliable they are and how much range time I'll need for them.

I don't know of too many accidents/homicides involving 80 year-olds with guns. Most of the time, older people just stop taking their gun out and taking care of it, like everything else they own. I kind of have a "if it aint broke don't fix it" stance on things like gun-control.

I have been informed that there isn't any real stopping point to gun collecting :rolleyes: But I agree that every armory needs a shotgun. My mom has a 12 gauge, her anniversary present from me and dad, and dad has an old .410 Winchester. I'm still needing one for myself, to keep the other guns in my closet company. And a revolver. And a compact. Then I'll be good.

I saw video on YouTube once with this Russian guy that had a fully automatic, Tommy-style shotgun. I think it may have been home made, but I'm not sure. Regardless, that thing was an absolute babe. Hardly had any kick, as he showed by shooting it one-handed without stabilizing the stock, and then he went on to stick the thing into a bucket of water and fire it under. <3

If he was Russian, my guess is that he was using a Saiga. Those are pretty solid, but heard some of their magazines have reliability issues. So be careful in choosing your mags if you can get your hands on one, hahahaha
