Uggh. I know! Every time I do more research, I want a new gun to fill a specific role!

Well, I'm afraid I CAN get my hands on one XD but the concept is very intriguing. BTW, have you hear of those guns kits that you can order to assemble yourself? They sound very intimidating to me, but that's probably the o ll way I would be able to get access to an auto. But I'm Justin afraid they might malfunction and blow up in my face or something.

Yep. I don't trust my level of technical expertise to assemble a gun safely. :p I'd go to a gun smith for anything other than minor adaptations.

Gun smiths are also pretty good at making sure you don't break any absurd laws.

Okay...okay.... Guys, I think I am in love. My heart is fluttering, and my breathing is slightly irregular. I went back and found out that the gun is an AA-12. Fully automatic, fully stainless steel, Russian military gun. No cleaning or lubrication needed. No recoil. Hardly any malfunctions to be found. I will never be fully complete until I haven't now.

Lol, only four. But yes, you probably wouldn't want to do that,particularly at night. You might be fine during the day,but I spook easy when it's dark. XD

Have some friends that make their own muzzle loaders ..one recently blowed up and took off a arm

Haha, I was under the impression that you were talking of person who had a whole room full of guns. But I guess you are sort of in the position my dad is. I don't have any expenses, so I'm free to blow my savings hundreds at a time. XD Not that that's a good or recommendable practice. But if you want a reliable, cheap gun,have you heard of the Mosin Nagant? I bought one just because I'd never seen a rifle so cheap; $159. And after I brought it home and started studying up on it, I started loving it more and more. And apparently that gun in general is cheap. I totally suggest one, though if you buy online you may risk getting one that was ill kept.

Eeeuoohh. Yep, that's why I avoid tampering with my guns too much. My dad has a P89, the 9mm version of my pistol, but he doesn't like it rooming because the auto decock makes him nervous. And understandably, I suppose.

Yesterday, I did the assembly of a rimfire rifle for small game hunting this winter, and I ordered up a bullpup conversion stock for one of my existing rifles.

I add and subtract rifles from the collection periodically depending on anticipated needs, but as of this afternoon, I have a baker's dozen of rifles in various calibers and about twice that in handguns of various calibers. Out of all of them, I consider 4 to be "must haves" that I'd never part with, and the rest are just nice to have.

Personally I prefer single action revolvers. Those Ruger are manufacturing are handling real well.

Agreed. A good Mosin-Nagant is a wonderful rifle to own, and a great base for customization.

Chemical stripping, etching, and then cerakoted. I lucked out on this rifle. It was made in 1938 and was in wonderful condition. A couple places where the bluing was touched up at the armory, but the rifling was nearly new, and all the parts fit together very nicely. It was taken care of during it's life before me.

Wow, that's a beautiful story XD mine was 1943, and somebody had done a crappy job of refinishing the wood. I had to sandpaper it all off. Just out of curiously, how much does keracote cost?

I already had the airbrush and compressor, so all I had to pay for was the materials. I think I had a little less than $100 into the color, the reducer, and the hardener. Cost me a bit more to buy from Brownells where I got it because I had to pay in-state sales tax.

I just borrow a lot from friends to get a well-rounded experience. :p

One of them was a Mosin. I'm not a huge fan. If I get a vintage bolt action, it'll be a K98 Mauser. Worth the extra $100 or so to me.

Yeahhhh, I used a three years worth of gun budget to get a really nice AR-15 for WROL/SHTF purposes with plenty of lube and ammo to keep it flying.
