Im missing my grandpa who died on march 13 2013 due to pancreatic cancer at age 81 and i was very close to him being the only grandfather i knew and was there for me and feeling depressed cuz i miss my grandpa and cuz i have disabilities that makes relationships hard for me

I lost a close friend to cancer (osteosarchoma). It must be harder for you, it being a family member and blood relative, even.

Any other family members you can talk with/connect with? Maybe someone that can relate to missing your grandpa a lot, also?

Hi chad,
Lost my grandparents yrs ago too, but yes, we dont forget and still miss them. Maybe u are going thru some difficult times and so u miss him more, but u can find other grandpas and grandmas, perhaps in church, or even here in cc. This isnt the same as live grannies, of course, but there are some grandparently ppl here u can be friends with. I sure hope u find them-- or they find u, as some i believe are also looking for grandkids-).

Wow, you have been going through a lot!!!
I'm so sorry sweetie!
I have lost many people to cancer and it sucks. A lot.
The pain never really goes away. It goes deeper into your heart and it's not a constant reminder but it will always be there.
Your grandfather did what God needed Him to do in this life though, that is why he is now in the world we really belong in.

Like I've said I've lost many, I'm currently trying not to lose myself to cancer (It might make sense to some)
It's an awful disease, but it can't take away people's hope and strength if you don't let it.

It's okay to miss someone, but DON'T GIVE UP
Look up to the Father and ask for rest and guidance.
Look back and see all the things your grandfather taught you and take that and use it.

God bless!

Im so sorry sweetie. I know it must be hard. I too lost my grandpa or as I call him Papa.. Even though I'm much older than you I do understand how you feel.

I lost my Papa to pancreatic cancer also. He was 72.
But he lived a long full life, as I'm sure yours did also.
Just keep his memory alive sweetie. And remember, a part of him will live FOREVER in YOUR HEART.

God bless

I lost my grandma january of 2011. The only my grandma I had. She got sick a lot but always got better. She learned to walk again twice. I guess this time was different being that she didn't get better. I missed her a lot after that. Would randomly cry from just missing her. It eventually got better though I still miss her now I smile laugh at the good times we had together as well. And I know that she wouldn't want me to be sad but live the life God gave me and shine for Him until we are reunited and can have more good times.

I understand how you feel. My grandad died in 1981 and I still miss him, and even dream about him sometimes. I was closer to him and my grandmother (who died in 1983) than I was to my own parents.

Even at my age, I am not ashamed to cry about them. Sometimes as I lay on my bed, I remember the good times I had with them and I cry because I miss them so.

I think such tears are healthy because every one we shed is proof of the love we shared with them.

Yes, it hurts, but never hesitate to take time to cry while you remember all the good times you had with them.

Even now as I write this I am tearing up because I still love and miss them. But that is OK, because it means the relationship I had with them was real and very valuable.

How much worse would it be if you or I did not have such a relationship to cry over?
