Actually, I'm asking about it because so many are asking for advice and prayers because they're brand new Christians, think demons are attached to them or they're possessed, and the only way they can get those thoughts so quickly is because wherever they're going after being reborn is teaching them that junk. If that's not enough, the people on here are giving them advice and/or prayers that go along with, "Why, of course, a demon is attached to you." And, heaven forbid, anyone else give advice or pray as if that person should focus on God, not demons (which often are the cause for the person's problems and all the person's family's problems.) Personally, I think a new Christian should get out of a church if that's the first thing they're taught, but heaven forbid if I say that on such a thread.

Christians blame demons on everything where I know most of the evil things I've done or do are from selfishness, not Satan.

Since I think this, I'm checking if I'm alone.
I didnt talk bout you sis. Plus if I post prayers I use the decernment of the holy spirit. The first thing a new born needs is the basis of the Gospel of peace . A person can get deliverance after havin a solid base. Before is building a castle on sand. But I am gonna back out of the convo. God bless

Need to get to know your adversary sis he's a very tricky creature. Not to underestimate.
Does the sheep need to get to know the wolf? No. We hear the Shepherd's voice and we follow. He keeps us from the wolves. God is the one making a way before us, leading us on, instructing us and taking care of us.

We don't have to worry about what to do or what to speak. God promises us that he'll give us the words to say. We have to just keep our focus on Jesus and not walk in our own understanding, (our flesh or intellect), which is our worst adversary.

Remember when Jesus said to Peter, "Get behind me, satan! You are a stumbling block to me. You don't have in mind the concerns of God." Was Peter possessed? No. Jesus was addressing that frame of mind, Peter's own understanding, which always goes against God. God is in control.

Nah. Didn't think you were, but you asked, so I included why I'm asking.

Only if the Christian toy's with it by way of enticing it to him/her. Stick to Jesus and it doesn't stand a chance but don't ever dice with evil.

It is important to know the truth, about everything that pertains to the Christian life.

Yeah but when demons start to become more important than God problems start. I am sure we all are aware that we are always in a battle and supposed to be in full armour. If we dont get attacked we are doin something seriously wrong. Everyone knows we are to be sober and viligant. Plus I can also lay my hand into the fire that barely anyone is ready to listen about demons being able to attach and demonise Christians and that it is possible. It sounds nicer to say no. This topic has been up many times and always ends the same.
What may not be an issue for you may be an issue for others. Ever thought the OP may be dealing with something serious and may need a little bit of advice?
Theres also hardly a topic on this site that hasn't been discussed tons of times. If one doesn't care for the topic they don't have to enter the thread.
Theres a huge misconception about Satan and demons on CC too and how they work in the world. It's important to be properly informed on the subject.

(As OP), S'alright. Demi knows me enough to know this isn't something I'm dealing with. That's why I put it on Misc. I didn't want it to become terribly serious, (not to be confused with not wanting people to give serious answers), debated to smithereens like on BDF, or hurt people by putting it on the more personal forums.

Better yet, I even was able to get it on the forum I wanted it on, since I have been known to put a Family question on the News forum, and other bonehead moves like that. lol

This is very true. Those who see demons in everything are just as wrong as those who don't see them at all.

Why is there so much focus on demons for heavens sake. Who cares? If someone has a demon attached we deal with it the way Jesus taught us and go on. Good God
One must know their enemy and how to defeat them. And just because a thread focusses on demons doesn't meant that demons are our only focus. It's just the subject for that particular thread.

But for sure, a query into demons should never take the place of a focus on Christ.

Because Christians are to be aware of evil that's around them. We live in a world of evil, and we have to be prepared on how to handle it.
True. You can't discern evil if one is not aware of evil.

Mark 16: 17And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons;

We have been instructed to face down demons. WE are to face them down. To do that, one must know about them and about what Christ has done and given us to bear against them.

Demons can oppress and entice, but not possess.

I think it's very important to understand how satan and how his minions work or else we will battle them unprepared and fall for their trickery. wherever there is light the darkness has no choice but flee as darkness cannot coexist in light so simply seeing how when I turn on the lights in my room the darkness disappears to me this tells me that where the holy spirit exists and evil spirit cannot our bodies are temples for spirits to reside evil or good and only one or the other can live in it at once.

However that isn't to say the temple cannot be attacked or damaged by those who want in or want to destroy it. We have no need to fear satan but at the same time it's unwise to openly challenge him as this opens a door you don't want open, the spiritual rules are to be respected in giving an invitation to the holy spirit to reside in us he then takes office and in the same way if we give permission to evil spirits by challenging them or by openly inviting them in any way then they have permission to cling to us and cause us harm.

i have some in their zeal challenge satan in Jesus's name and it some of them got lucky and didn't get more than a scare others however were not so lucky

There are verses that speak of Satan is in control of this world. Question is to what extent is Satan in control? If Satan is in control did he change the Bible did he allow man to write his own words or were all the words inspired by GOD?? Make no mistake I believe in GOD.

satan IS the ruler OF this world. Fortunately, we who are God's are not OF this world, just IN it.

So in your opinion was this world created by the Elohim because when you look at early Genesis the word God was translated from Elohim.

satan was the ruler of this world but Jesus said he has overcome the world, granted satan has great influence of this world but I think he kinda lost his reign when Jesus came and died on the cross, however satan can use mankind to do his bidding by using the dark parts of our hearts such as those who crave power and wealth or those with corrupt minds just as God uses mankind.
Everyday every human is a part of war unseen a divine conspiracy and every day mankind is being used by God and being used by satan with every word and every action we do and say we are being used.

So you equate Satan's power with God's power? God isn't "The Force." He isn't a balance between good and evil. He IS good. To question God's power to get his words in the word is to question if the New England Patriots played against The Woodbury High School Herd, could the Herd win? Um. NO! God is that much more powerful than Satan. The creator is always more powerful than the created.

And, just for the record, Satan believes in God too. This has a bit more to do than merely belief. I know many people who believe in God and yet it's about equal to their belief in coffee. Yes, it's good, but it doesn't change anything in them.

I'm not saying that's you, but I do have room to question your belief if you can't even trust God's word to be God's Word.

I think Satan is still in control. He may feel like he got a beaten when Christ lived without sin. I don.t believe Christ will have control until his second coming which I believe to be the Sabbath a thousand years is as a day to GOD.
