23 year old Baltimore lady commit suicide by cop

A 23 year old Baltimore lady was shot by police when they came to her home to serve a warrant. She was pointing a shotgun at the police and using her child as a shield. I know sometimes deadly force is necessary but this whole situation could have been prevented.
They had pulled her over earlier that same day for a traffic violation. You could tell by watching the video that this young lady was mentally unstable. She was irrational and delusional. The officer was trying his best to diffuse the situation, probably due to the fact that she had her child in the car and he did not want to scare the child. Since she was refusing to present ID, they should have arrested her and then recommended to the judge that she be placed some type of psychiatric care. So the shootout could have been prevented if they had arrested her in the original altercation.

I suppose that would be the thing to do if you have nothing to add to the conversation.
Anyway, during the initial stop she kept saying " if you put your hands on me you're going to have to kill me today" so it was obviously they were dealing with someone who was mentally unstable.

Plenty to add, just not interested in playing in a race bait thread today. I don't argue racial issues on Fridays. I could schedule some false hate of white people on next Wednesday.

I fail to see how this is race-baiting as I did not even mention the ladys race, so at this point you are just trolling. It was an issue of the police being forced to kill a mentally ill young lady, when it could have been prevented if they had arrested her during the initial traffic stop. It has nothing to do with race. I just think these officers made a bad judgement call

And wouldn't you be right at the front of the crowd screaming about WHY? would these horrible cops arrest this poor women for a simple traffic violation, and then take her child away.

As I mentioned in my original post, the officer showed remarkable restraint during the traffic stop, despite the fact that she was intentionally antagonizing him. However since refusing to present ID is illegal, the officer should have arrested her and then recommended to the judge that should be placed in some type of psychiatric ward. I don't think the officers involved were at all racist, I just think it could have been handled a bit differently

No... this lady was obviously mentally unstable. Most likely bipolar or schizophrenic. She was in no condition to be raising children, at least until she got some type of psychiatric help

But these observations are all in hindsight. At an arrest, the hue and cry would have been all against the officers because she was stopped for nothing more than a simple traffic violation. We see that happening all the time here. Everyone knows better how any given situation should have been handled than the trained officers who were actually on the scene.

She got out of the vehicle and one point, that's what he should have arrested her. Police are trained in takedown procedures without using excessive force

It is really easy to say what you would do in a life and death type situation like that, though. If someone is pointing a gun at you, that is signaling "I am going to kill you." Cops are trained not just to protect others, but themselves also. It's tragic someone was killed, and the person couldn't get help. But please don't be acting like the situation was completely avoidable when the cop could have easily been dead, along with the child. And please especially stop acting like it's clearly black and white. Why don't you go be a cop, if you have the answers?

There is a long list of things that you fail to see. Foremost is that almost every thread that you start will focus on a black person who is a victim or you try to paint them as a victim, usually of police. You didn't mention the woman's race, but you posted the story solely because of the woman's race and were prepared to defend her because of her race. If she had been white, you'd have moved on and searched the internet for a black shooting victim to defend against police oppression. It's your M.O. and everyone here knows it.

Unless you are a doctor, we don't need to hear you diagnosing people as mentally ill. By your standard, you qualify as mentally ill. That leads to another thing you fail to see. Anyone reading your post knew that all they had to do is read a few sentences into the post and they were going to find the following; "could have been prevented". There is never a doubt with your threads that you will conclude that whatever happened to the person of color, it could have been prevented. To be even more precise, you will always conclude that what needed to happen in order for the incident to have been prevented was that the police would need to do something different. You will never suggest that the idiot who is shot could have prevented the whole thing by not threatening to kill the police and pointing and shooting a weapon at them. You will always judge a black victim as an innocent victim, who maybe was mentally ill, yet it was the responsibility of the police to handle the situation in a way that they arrest her and there is no need to shoot her.

As always, the officers you criticize did not make a bad judgment call. They will not be charged with excessive force. And you will not return to this thread, or any previous thread and tell everyone that you were wrong and a follow-up investigation cleared all officers of wrong doing. It has never happened no matter how many times you falsely accuse the police, and it probably never will. This makes you the troll, not the people who point out how much you hate the police.
