According to many people, in order to have salvation you just have to believe/have faith, but that makes no sense because even the demons believe in God and know God exist. Since that's the case do we follow Christ examples and believe they will give us eternal life?

Demons do not believe in Jesus Christ.

Confess Jesus is Lord. Mark6:16 is your salvation.

Demons do not believe in Jesus Christ.

They do:

"What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are--the Holy One of God!"

Mark 1:24

But He did not die for them, so their faith does not lead to salvation. (At least we have no information about it in Bible)

Sure they know He exists, and they know He is God. But they do not believe in Him for salvation. Nor can they, nor would they, nor is there any indication that the offer has even been made to them. Christ came to save human sinners, not demons.

Matthew: 8. 28. When he arrived at the other side in the region of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men coming from the tombs met him. They were so violent that no one could pass that way. 29. "What do you want with us, Son of God?" they shouted. "Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?" 30. Some distance from them a large herd of pigs was feeding. 31. The demons begged Jesus, "If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs." 32. He said to them, "Go!" So they came out and went into the pigs, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and died in the water.

How did the demons know that Jesus was God in the flesh? They knew their destination was eternal punishment in the lake off fire. That's why they asked was he there to torture them before the appointed time (judgment day)

Yes. Their faith in Him will not help them, as far as we know.

Accorfing to Jesus, not according to many people; get it right.

we have to distinguish two types of faith.

First there is an intellectual faith. Knowing about someone. We can know that Jesus Christ is Who He is and yet it does not move us at all to serve Him. This is how the devils believed. It is also how many of His 'followers' believed (Jon 2.23-25). They believed in Him as a miracle worker or as a worldly deliverer. But it was not a faith which committed them to Him as He really was.

Then there is faith with the whole being, a faith which loves and responds. This is saving faith, believing 'into Jesus Christ'. It is the consequence of God's activity in the believer. It is a loving response to the work God has done for him, especially through the cross. It is responsive faith, a faith which opens itself to God. It is not something that we 'do'. It is our response to His working.

Thus we are justified freely by Grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, whom God has set forth as a propitiation by His blood which we receive through faith. (Rom 3.24-25)

By grace are you saved through faith, (Eph 2.8)

The cause of salvation is the grace of God. We respond in saving faith,

They know that he is God in the flesh. .. So they know he's the way to salvation. Same as believing, But is that all we have to do to have salvation?

Yes, believing in Jesus Christ is all you have to "do". Sounds simple doesn't it? But for so many it is a hurdle they can never get over.

John: 6. 53. Jesus said to them, "Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.

Jesus said UNLESS. Unless means there is no way around, besides receiving his flesh and blood. Can you believe and receive his flesh and blood?

Yes, absolutely.

First, we aren't saved by belief. We're saved by Jesus. We don't get saved by receiving it. We get it from Jesus giving it.

Second, the demons believe in Jesus like I believe in George Clooney. Sure. There really is a guy named Clooney/Jesus. What they don't have is faith in Jesus. As in faith enough to stand with him, live for him, do what he wants me to do, belive that he saves me and helps me. And that too is believe. Believe, like the word can, has more than one meaning. They considered him to be true, not that they accept him for who he is.

Joh 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 16:7 ¶ Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

For the cause of Christ

If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your
heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
