YIG, I joined back in 2011 and left for awhile and came back. As you can see from my post count that I don't post alot. I too was upset for the lack of a better word at how some were behaving and treating others. Some have rubbed me the wrong way and I know that I have rubbed others the wrong way also.

I am trying not to see people through my eyes but through loving eyes. People cannot give what isn't in them and many are going through things that we are unaware of, which could be the reason for alot of the behaviors here. I personally just got back biopsy results and I told noone here what I was going through.

We are not going to get along with everyone and it would be nice if we could show more grace to each other as God is Gracious to us. I personally struggle with forgiveness, I can forgive but depending on the level of hurt I tend to not want to be around the person anymore because I don't want to be hurt again and I'm not sure if that is really forgiveness or not. If someone knows the answer please feel free to share your thoughts with me.

Anyway YIG you are not alone in your feelings about some things. Stick around awhile and give it a chance. AuntieAnt is a sweet lady. Mr. Willie is a honest and kind man. He is straight forward but he does it in a way where he's not trying to wound your spirit. There are many more good people in here, give it a chance.

Honest... I try to be. But "kind"????? Not so much sometimes. I was taught at a very young age (8 or 9) to avoid fighting if I could... but if I couldn't, to hit hard enough to win... just not to kill if possible. I think that teaching has crept into most of my life.

But, thanks for the kind words.

Because we're all family, Tintin dear. :)

Seriously though, it boggles my mind how anyone could take YIG in a bad light. He was honest and forthright. He added so much to the threads and in so short a time. I mean, humorous sarcasm runs like a river thru-out the forums, doesn't it? And YIG is a master of tongue-in-cheek humor. His posts made me laugh so much! I don't understand why he in particular was discriminated against because of his satirical comments. I honestly don't. :(

I have to be completely honest here and say...... IF ANYONE.....laughed at the Original Post.......then, their sense of humor is................well...........

I don't know this person very well. and haven't read many of his Posts...........however, I do believe I was honest and fair with my first Post concerning his OP........There was so very much there that I could have gone off on, but as he shielded his comments behind the veil of "biting humor," I gave him the benefit of the doubt, and restrained myself to a couple of the statements that I disagreed with, regardless if it was "biting humor/tongue in cheek sarcasm" or whatever.

In my opinion, and I love sarcastic wit, and even tongue in cheek humor, and apply it liberally across the Forums from time to time, but, in my opinion, the OP was well beyond anything resembling comments one would expect from a believer in and follower of Jesus Christ.

Some lines we just don't cross.........even when we are doing so with sarcastic wit or tongue in cheek humor.......

If anyone cares to understand why I believe this, I strongly suggest they read the First Epistle of the Apostle John....here is a short excerpt that one can read and then compare to the statement made in the OP:

1 John 4:6) We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
7 .) Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 .) He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 .) In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 .) Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 .) Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12
.) No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

Sarcastic wit and tongue in cheek humor certainly have their place and can be enlightening as well as entertaining.......but, there IS a line......

To clarify this for those who are searching the SYM thread for YIG's posts berating Magenta, there aren't any. It was Th0mas who berated Magenta, not YIG.. :)

So because I think Y_I_G is funny, you question whether my sense of humor is not up to par with your sense of humor?

Honest to goodness, I'm trying to understand what you mean. Are you saying that your sarcasm is of a better caliber than mine or Y_I_G's?

I think what you're suggesting is that I not laugh at anything that you yourself consider crossing some line.............. is that correct?

I may have trouble living up to your standard because that sounds like pharisaical legalism and I don't find that very entertaining. :p

YiG, as you can see there are people here that enjoy your posts and would like you to stay, but that's up to you. If you're so inclined, good, if not then I wish you well.

No, your snark is more of the "I'm above it all, so let me educate you on how to think." I don't think you follow me around, and I certainly try to avoid you, but I wish you'd get over thinking it's all about you and those wise sayings.

What would stop me from speaking to you directly is if you'd be kind enough not to keep teaching the poor unfortunate McPeople how to live life through Daoism and psychobabble, and the constant need to inform people you don't accept labels for yourself, but you're happy to hand them out to all others.

If you just got to post some wisdom, at least try to keep it within the biblical God's teachings, not Albert Ellis's.

As for not taking what I say in other threads to current ones? Really? Like you think this started here? Honesty would help too. At least Y-I-G had honesty.
One mans snark is another mans humor. You know, I can say pretty much anything I want and you don't have to like it. You have that right. Doesn't mean I'm not gonna say it just because some bitter old blue hair has her bloomers all in a twist about me. I rather kind of enjoy seeing you get all worked up over something you have absolutely no control over.

I find your comment quite odd. You UNDERSTOOD his original post, found it funny.......you did not UNDERSTAND my post and found it judgmental of you, and brand me a "pharisaical legalism?"

What happened to "let's all accept people for who they are?" That went out the window fairly quickly did it not? Hmm

Did you read 1 John? All 5 Chapters before you decided to not accept what I was saying? And compare what John wrote to the OP? Hmm.............

Guess "accepting people for who they are" only applies to certain people..........Hmm

There was NOT ONE THING FUNNY in the OP............not one......and I have a pretty good sense of humor........

He is attacked for stating his opinions........annnnnnnnnnnnnnd THAT'S JUST SWELL! I state my opinions. annnnnnnnd, HERE COME THE DAGGERS!

Hmm

I appreciate the effort you took to verify my claim.

Unfortunately, it just won't have any impact or change the outcome, and any rational person can already see that a mile off. See, once someone makes the conscious decision to dislike someone or makes the conscious decision to be offended and reacts instead of responds, very few things under Heaven or Earth will divert them from their path.

Even if people were to concede that I have, in fact, never attacked Magenta, they all still have verbose lists of my perceived infractions, and come Hell or high water they will voice them until they get their desired outcome. They will keep doing the "yeah, but..." game from now until Rapture until they get the "justice" they believe they are entitled to. The righteous (them), shall be exalted before the Lord and the wicked (that being me) shall be cast low before their feet. Until my blood run to the height of a horse's bridle across these forums, the lynch mob will not stop playing the "yeah, but..." game and they will wear themselves out digging through my posts to read into them what they want to see to add to the list of slights, insults, and infractions against them.

I am still just going to sit back and kind of twiddle my thumbs until I hear back from the leadership of this place. I haven't heard a thing yet, so we continue to play the waiting game.

Ok, see this is where everything goes wrong. Opinions. Our own understanding mixed in with God's truth. That goes for me, too.

You just got done implying that my laughing at brother Y_I_G was questionable. You then went on for a few paragraphs defending your own sarcastic sense of humor, which you find acceptable. You then posted scriptures to support your opinion. And you end with. "but, there IS a line......" as if to imply that I crossed it laughing at Y_I_G.

And yet you don't see that as judgmental or legalistic??

No, you did not understand what I said.......and therein lies the problem..........my stating there is a "line" was directed at the OP, NOT YOU.

I was not defending my sense of humor or use of sarcastic wit/tongue in cheek humor, I was agreeing that these can be both enlightening and entertaining regardless of who uses this venue.......the distinction I made was that in my opinion, the OP crossed the line from what is acceptable and what is not.......and that I did not find anything funny in the OP.

Again, did you bother to read 1 John yet? Did you compare what John wrote to what was written in the OP? If you do this, then you should gain understanding of why I said there is a "line."

I still find it funny that you bend over backwards to defend the OP, and seem to lose all interest in applying the same standards of acceptance to me.......too, too funny.

Y'all need to calm down and leave the kitchen. Go cool off in the water trough in the barn yard. Whether YIG goes or stays is up to him. Shouldn't we support him either way instead of bickering like a bunch of whiny brats over who took whose coloring pencil or ball of playdough? lol

Bickering like whiny brats? As for cooling off, my temperature is at the optimum level it is suppose to be. Nothing that has been said to me has had any effect upon my demeanor, or temperature......... :)

But, thanks for the comments............ :)

Too, too funny............
