Then couldn't God persuade someone without violating their free will? Isn't that what he did with Paul?
For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. Romans 1:20

I believe God does "persuade" us. It could be through His creation. It could be through events that have occurred. I believe he stops people in their tracks, as he did Paul. He says hey come follow me and life will have purpose, will have joy. Stop walking down this road that leads to death. But we still have a choice to say no and choose death, separation from Him.

Well, according to traditional doctrine, a very large amount of humanity will be condemned while a very small amount will be saved. How can Jesus be greater than Adam if Adam can condemn more people than Jesus can save?
Adam as an individual is responsible for His own response to the will of God.. As am I and it is the same for everyone else.. But the Book of Revelation reveals that the number of people saved during the great tribulation will not be able to be numbered because it will be so great..

"""Revelation 7 KJV
9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."""

So maybe your impression about the numbers that are going to be saved is not entirely accurate?

Not to be insensitive, but when you try to claim that your own Creator isn't capable of meeting your emotional needs, you're lying to yourself (or the little demons in your head are lying to you). Unfortunately, only time, age, and wisdom can prove to you that nothing in this life is truly satisfying until you come to recognize your Creator for who he truly is....your Savior and only shot at contentment until this life is over and the one of perfection begins.
She's not really lying, she's saying the Creator can't meet all her needs because you can't see Him in person, thats one need we really are craving for, just something tangible to hold on to. I guess thats why its called faith. But yeah, I get what she's saying, people are lying to themselves when they say oh God is fulfilling all my needs, spiritually yeah sure but we are still flesh and bone for the mean time on this bloody earth and for some its gonna be quite a long "mean time". I can't wait to die and just get it over with some days too. But that ain't my decision to make, God will do with me as He pleases.

Jesus did not force Paul to change his mind as if Paul was a Zombie under Gods mind control program.. But Jesus did intervene directly in Pauls life out of mercy for Paul because God knew that Paul was persecuting Christians because Paul genuinely thought that He was doing the right thing and serving God by persecuting Christians.. Of course when Paul was knocked off His horse He asked the LORD who He was and the LORD revealed that He was Jesus, to Paul's surprise..

So do I if that is any comfort to you. I came to this thread searching for like minded people who could help fulfill this.

Except that God is more than capable of sending her a person to fulfill her needs, but from personal experience, it only happened after I made a thorough effort to fulfill His will first. Even then, I had to wait 10 years after I got serious with God before the right person came along. While I was waiting, God subdued my desires. Of course, raising a child by myself helped in that area because I was too busy and tired to focus on anything else. LOL! Hey, God works in all kinds of different ways, but it still worked and it allowed me to focus on what He wanted me to, not what I thought I wanted to.

If only that could happen to the rest of us. Just because that happened to you doesn't mean it will be that way for me. I mean, yes, I'm fine with my job and my house and my family and whatever. But what I really need right now is someone I can communicate with physically. Like I said, I'm tired of spiritual things. I'm tired of always having to do the reaching out. All my life I've had high-functioning autism and have been a very shy wallflower, rarely taking any social risks. All my life I've been different. I've never belonged anywhere because of my interests and in the way I think. I told God I would follow him no matter what, but I would be very, very disappointed if this one thing I really want never happened.
You're tired of spiritual things because you're not experiencing them. It's really hard at your age not to put all of your selfish needs and wants first, but I'm afraid that's going to have to change if you want everything else to change. I've been there. I speak from experience. I'll continue to pray for you.

Oh yeah, cause that's always a great way to motivate people. The doctrine of Hell didn't even come into existence until Augustine brought it in the fifth century, along with several other unbiblical ideas. Then again that's what happens when you mix religions.
And if you have read any of my posts, you already know you cannot use that excuse with me. I don't preach any "lakes of fire". But I DO talk a lot about living for eternity with even more of what you are feeling right now. After you die, you will not have that husband you now think is such a great goal... nor will you have any closeness with Jesus if you choose not to. What do you think that leaves you with?

You say you want a husband. That's reasonable. Even commendable. But I honestly do want to know something.

May I ask you a question I always asked prospective employees I interviewed for my businesses? Why should a man choose you to be his wife? Not what you think you have inside, but what he can see, right now, in the 22 year-old woman standing before him, that he will get when he says "I do."

I'd just rather be married to an actual human being than some cosmic deity.
I feel like I can relate. People say things like God is always with you. Yet you can't physically walk down the boardwalk at night holding God's hand. You can't wrap your arm around Him as you sit on the couch watching TV or a movie. You can't go to the local yogurt shop and pick out your favorite toppings, then sitting at said shop and just talk to each other and find out each other's goals, likes, dislikes, where they came from. You want someone physically available that you can enjoy life with. Someone you can physically laugh with. Someone you can physically have deep, meaningful conversations with. Someone you can learn with. That's what it sounds like to me. If true, then I can relate because I have those same thoughts each and every single day. No one else knows about them because I've been forced fed the whole "all you need is God" stuff to the point I've convinced myself no one would understand if I actually tried saying how I honestly felt. Sure, some people truly mean well. But they really don't understand, and they just end up making you feel like you don't want to live even more. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I got from your post.

If you're saying I need to be perfect, it's not going to happen. But yeah, I can see why you'd ask that question. Who'd want someone so plain looking and so emotional?

My point exactly. He loves people because that's his nature, not because he truly wants to.

If he's perfect then he truly wants to do God's will. His is the manifestation of the word of God. The Word became flesh.
