Doesn't the bible say no one knows the time except the father? Even Jesus does not know the appointed time.
So how can we have that knowledge?
My pastor says it is senseless to spend to much time thinking of The Time.

That would be correct!

Oh, and to the OP... Schism... Are you aware of the meaning of the lyrics of Tools songs? Read up on o'l Manards life story and see what he thinks about God.

When will Jesus return?

John 16:10? but who is to say the Son ever left?

Please forgive me for not including references to these verses and any mistakes by recalling from memory because I am setting in a truck in the rain, and my phone is being slow.

No man knoweth the day nor hour of the Lord's return.
[but you could narrow it down to a few hours and the statement remain true]

But of that day knoweth no man, neither the angels in heaven, but my father only.
[in the context, this clearly speaks of when heaven and earth pass which is a separate event from his return]

As the days of Noah were, so shall be the coming of the Son of man.
[Noah knew it was coming for many years, preparing the arc, and God told him seven days before the rains came that the rains would come in seven days]

Even in Corinthians, Paul wrote, concerning the second coming, that they were not of darkness and that he could write to them about that time if he didn't already presume they knew.

How is it that we do not discern this time?

The time in Luke 10:21, I don't know, why?

John 16:10? but who is to say the Son ever left?
"Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven." Acts 1:11 seems to be clear on the matter :)

True but what did Jesus say?

For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. Matt 23:39

Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; John 16:10

Then of course there is his teaching in the Gospel of John;

32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
John 1:32-33
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
John 3:13

Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
John 14:17

Jesus said in Matt 28:18, that He had received all power in heaven and in earth.

If He didn't know the day of His coming at that time, then He would have received only some power.

Jesus gave us the Revelation, which tells the story of Israel until eternity begins.

It shows us the day and time of His appearing, He does tell us. (7th Trump, last)
----------
The statement that Jesus said was true when He spoke the words.

But after the resurrection, when He had all power, the statement about Him not knowing the day or hour wasn't applicable anymore.

He told us in the Revelation when the time was.
--------
People mistake the dialog about the destruction of Jerusalem, to be about the resurrection, which it is not. Matt 24, Mk 13, Lk17, LK 21.

One of the Days of the Lord is when Jerusalem is destroyed in 70ad.

Another is when this planet is destroyed.

A evaluation of the context will tell you which one that it is speaking about.

Well, when I wrote even in Corinthians I was mistaken. It is 1 Thessalonians 5

5 Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, 2 for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
4 But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief.

He says that he does not need to write to them about times and dates because the day of the Lord should not surprise them as a thief. Which could just mean that they are always ready, good call FreeNChrist. I could be wrong. But God did tell Noah the day the rains would come.

I'm just gonna throw this out there. I definately plan to be sober and watching for the new moon at the beginning of October.

Why October? Do you follow Hilell II Calendar? 2016 is an unusual year, but too many prophecies not fulfilled yet. We get to rehearse the event every year, thus not in the dark (clueless). I am speaking of YHWH Fall Feasts, Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Tabernacles, Great EIGHTH Day. Every Christian can rehearse and study how Jesus will fulfill the Fall Feasts

I am going to be doing an in depth study of revelation soon and I hope to find the truth on the matter of of how it all will go down but I have this to say, I have studied bible prophecy and have seen the connections of them and to both todays age and the ages after the apostles time I also remember how closely intertwined the feast days are to both bible prophecy and God's clock but also as to who he is in nature I remember how the blood moons were anticipated to be an astounding event and how many people assumed something was going to go down I did research on the blood moons and noticed how often a blood moon is depicted in movies shows and even in history in times of war.

All of this and more I studied and learned because I was looking for his return and while as of now I don't exactly expect him to come in the clouds any time soon I think that regardless if we think it's going to happen soon or not we should have our hearts prepared for it as if it could because just because people have expected at any moment for 2000 years or because we don't see it happening any time soon doesn't mean it won't

Heads up. There is a classic commentary on Revelation called More Than Conquerors by William Hendriksen.

I was once in your position, going to study Revelation.

The key to understanding the Rev is deciding exactly how many resurrections that there are.

1 Cor 15:23-28, 23-24, was the key for me.

It says that there are 2 resurrections,

Jesus,

Those that are His at His coming,

Then it is the end.
---
This scripture cannot be broken, (it cannot be wrong/false), seeing that it is God's word.

Can we add to it, or take away from it?

Or change the position of the events in relation to each other?
--------
This is the key,

Where in Rev does it show the coming of Jesus, 1 Cor 15:23-24, and then the end?

He's only coming one more time, and then, it is the end.

When will Jesus return?

What if it's this:

When all whom the Father foreknew and predestined to be the inheritance of the Son have come to repentance.

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
(2 Peter 3:9)

What if "
you" here is believers?
& what if "
everyone" here is not all mankind, but all those saints He has chosen?

What if it's that?
Because we know that not all mankind will repent.

((If you believe it is by human will & choice, then the full number of those who will be redeemed is unknowable, even by God, who is in heaven wondering what each man will do. In that paradigm, time is completely open-ended. Until God's patience wears out, and He's tired of waiting to see what people will decide. But what about babies at that time? What about people who might make a choice tomorrow? What if Christ comes back too early, and someone misses out on '
making the right choice' by only an hour?
But if you believe in predestination in the full sense of His sovereignty, then this makes sense completely. He knows, and He alone knows, when the last of His chosen ones has come to repentance, because He has chosen them all, and He has given it to them all to come to Him -- and at that time, when all have turned to Him that He has given to turn, nothing is left to prevent judgement))

I believe it's both. Not either/or.

Christ was slain from the foundations of the world. So believers were found in Him from the beginning.

But we don't know who is saved. He does though. He sees the end from the beginning. :)

So it is "WHOSOEVER" and it is also "PRE-DESTINED".

As far as only those who can come to Him, when the Son of Man was lifted up, all men are drawn to Him. Where I don't agree with many people is the idea that grace is irresistible. I believe there IS an act on our part of dying to ourselves and being baptized IN HIM. Scripture calls this "calling on the Lord". And at that point we are in Christ.

First we believe in our heart: At this moment we know He is God.
Then we confess Him with our mouth: Once we know He is God, we give our lives to Him to be saved.

But there is 2 different timelines if you will:

From the Spirit it's the end to the beginning.
From the Natural it's the beginning to the end.

Depending on which "mind" you're using it looks different.

When will Jesus return?

What if it's this:

When all whom the Father foreknew and predestined to be the inheritance of the Son have come to repentance.

Hello schism,

But of that day knoweth no man, neither the angels in heaven, but my father only. [in the context, this clearly speaks of when heaven and earth pass which is a separate event from his return]

Actually, in keeping with the context, it would not be speaking about when heaven and earth pass, but the Lord's return to end the age. For that is what the scripture is speaking about. The disciple's asked Jesus what would be the sign of His coming and the end of the age, not when heaven and earth pass away. Heaven and earth do not pass away until after the Lord's thousand year reign and at the great white throne judgment, which take place after the millennium (Rev.20:11, 21:1)

It could be tonight it could be tomorrow night it could be three hundred years from now no one knows. Many many bible scholars and theology professors have tried to figure this out with no luck. People can read the bible front words back words verse by verse topic by topic no one will ever be able to figure it out. the only thing we do know is it will be in the night when we do not expect it. he says it here
2 Peter 3:10 - But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Matthew 24:44 - Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Heads up. There is a classic commentary on Revelation called More Than Conquerors by William Hendriksen.

And The Days of Vengeance by Chilton takes it ever further. (If you really get your giggles from these kinds of books.)

No one knows when Jesus will return but God the Father. Jesus doesnt even know when that will be. The only thing we know about "the return" is that it will happen! We are not to know or even try to figure out when this time will be. Our "job" is to preach the Gospel throughout the lands and be prepared for His return. If God wanted us to know when Jesus will return then He would have told us. Dont try to figure it out because yiu never will. He flat out tells us in Scrioture that no one knows not even the Son, so why are we so bent on trying to figure this out?

The Couple's Responsibilities During the Betrothal

During betrothal the groom's responsibility was to focus on preparing a new dwelling place for his bride and family:

 • In Biblical times this was most often done not by building a new home - but by simply adding additional rooms to the family's existing home.
 • The Rabbi's determined that the place to which the bride was to be taken must be better than the place she had lived before.
 • It was not the groom's duty to determine when the place he was preparing for the bride was ready - his father would make that determination and give the go ahead to receive his bride.
