Since this is a Christian forum, I wonder how many of you actually believe in supernatural occurances such as:
Healings, demonic manifestations, deliverance & prophetic messages. Please share your thoughts.

I'm linguistically picky and must add a disclaimer. I "believe in" Jesus. The term believe in often implies more than simple belief as the "in" modifies the belief in a manner suggestive (to me) of including notions of reliance, devotion, acceptance, trust etc. An example: I believe the devil is real. vs. I believe in the devil. - I do believe the devil to be real, yet, believe nothing of him. I'm sorry I'm so weird, but, concerning things of G-d I tread carefully. Anyway:

Yes I absolutely believe the supernatural is real. I lived in a demonic hot spot (don't ask, won't entertain stories) for 17 years when I was an agnostic. That agnosticism obviously changed. Those experiences and others, drove me into the reality of the supernatural: including the reality of G-d (who is Supernatural, as in: outside nature). They are all real. ;)

I believe that healing is possible, but not common. I believe in demonic oppression and possession. I do believe that demons can be cast out, but do not believe in 'deliverance ministries'. I do not believe in modern prophets.

Though i avoid using the term 'supernatural' to describe any of this. Most people hear 'supernatural' and would be inclined to also lean towards thinking of psychics, ghosts and other such paranormal concepts that are unbiblical. Granted that may not be the sole definition of the word, but it is the common perception. So to avoid confusion i simply skip the term when referencing what i believe.

The Christian is of himself of the supernatural, the moment the holy spirit takes residence in them they then enter the realm of the supernatural as God himself is of the supernatural, to not believe in the supernatural such as healing prophetic messages demon manifestations ect. is to discard over half the bible itself. Now some people believe this happened but don't believe it happens today but from what I have witnessed it is all very real I have encountered demons an angel I have met satan several times I met God the father twice and Jesus twice and I am able to see through the veil of the spiritual realm to an extent as well there are things no person should ever have to see that I have seen but in the same way there beauty and wonder in the God's realm that will bring even the toughest man to tears.

I know it's real. I have had many personal experiences. It seems that a lot of people fear it. Especially Christians. Not too many Chrisitans walk in the power of the Holy Spirit by taking authority over demons. It's sad to see the spiritual state that the bride of Christ is in. We are not supposed to be powerless.

The other day I was walking through my aunts house in the middle of the night and all the lights were off and I could sense a terrible presence and I saw black figures running really fast blacker that the pitch black darkness in the house and everytime I saw them I was overcome with fear but I stopped closed my eyes and said Father stay with me and then the fear suddenly disappeared however this happened many times during that night it didn't just go away instantly every time i closed my eyes and said father be with me and the fear and demons had no choice but to retreat.

I experience these things and yes I am overcome with fear from what I see but I always call out to him and every time he comes running. It isn't my power I rely on it's his

Good day Blain!

Is your aunt in Christ? And if so, what are these demonic entities doing in her house. If she is not in Christ, is she aware of these unclean spirits? There has to be some reason that has allowed them to be there. Most likely some activity has invited them. As I am sure you are aware, You guys need to get them out of her house. What is your aunts name so that we can pray for God to drive them out in the name of christ?

I believe people can be healed
I believe some speak in tounges
I believe some get visions
I believe that demons can affect people

... but I also believe that many people who claim to experience these things are either victims of mass suggestion, mental illness or wanting to be seen as important

she is in Christ but she is unaware of these things and honestly it isn't her house that is the problem satan has on more than one occasion attacked me in this way regardless if I was living in sin at the time or not. The thing with being able to see through the veil is that you see both good and bad, these things are everywhere all the time we just don't see them or sense them most of the time because they walk in the spiritual realm not the physical and our physical eyes cannot see the things of the spiritual like that and a good thing too because there are unholy terrifying things.

Not sure what mass suggestion is but mental illness may be one of the things that influence these things people see, I mean if you take a combination of certain drugs people have reported hearing colors and seeing sounds and if drugs can do that how much more can the mind do? Not to mention if one is truly convinced they are haunted their minds begin to see things that aren't there.

Though if anyone wants to claim any of these I believe people can be healed
I believe some speak in tounges
I believe some get visions
I believe that demons can affect people
to seem important then they need to find another way because anyone who truly has the gifts of tongues or being healed or sees visions is no more important than anyone else and getting attacked by demons is a pretty bad way to seem important

Yes, I do. How can one be a Christian and not believe in the supernatural? It's a big part of what makes up our faith.

I agree it's a big part of what makes up our faith. I've heard of Christians that deny the Holy Spirit or say that speaking in tongues is not of God. Some even deny that hell is real or satan for that matter. And I wonder if they read Scripture? Where do they get their info from?

but People do

They think that i.e. the gift of tongues is "more important" than, øet's say the gift of generosity
You hear plenty of People claim that all Christians have the gift of toungues, but few who say that all have *pick any other random gift*

I think whoever doesn't believe in the supernatural isn't a Christian, since the belief that the Son of the Creator was born of a virgin, never sinned, healed and resurrected many and resurrected Himself is the foundation of our faith. What we call natural however is based on what we see and in the big scope of light and energy we are able to just glimpse at what is truly around us at all times. From what I've studied I can conclude that everything is energy and emits a frequency or electrical signature. This frequency is controlled in our minds, not brains but not separate from our brains either. Love, hate, fear and faith all tweak this frequency slightly and allow us to intercept (like a receiver picks up a radio station) the signal that the Creator or Holy Spirit transmits. These signals can change the resonance of our bodies because they too are effected by energy. When Christians are gathered together I believe that this combined resonance increases and that is how some get healed, but a strong resonance can be generated with increased faith by one person too. Its kind of like how remote controls or wifi or satellite works. Changing this frequency can also allow us to intercept demonic energy and that is the danger of hate and fear. Remember Jesus claimed before that He couldn't heal some people because they had no faith. Christ is the Light. Light is a type of energy that we can see with our eyes. Anyways, Christ said seek and you will find. I've sought and sought.........and sought and this is what I found.

Blain, just out of curiosity, what is your blood type (like O,O-,A,B,AB-)?

That is a scary experience. I have had similar experiences and still do sometimes. I thank God that I know to call on him when I am in situation like that.

there is always a reason they are around

you just have not dealt with that yet

yes, I do know what I am talking about and have dealt with enough to say what I am saying

there is no reason they should be around whether or not you think the devil has you earmarked

btw, that's another thing he likes to do...make you think you are special because you are being attacked

it's a game and it needs to stop

see through the veil? I don't think there is anything of value in seeing what you are seeing and you should deal with it

again, I would not say this if I had not dealt with stuff myself and no, this is not what Paul experienced...what you describe is something you do not have to suffer
