Funny, after I asked this I scrolled through Facebook and a friend of mine had posted a picture of cooked snails on a plate, shell still on and said, I love French food. Her husband is from France and she's there visiting family.
Eating two dozen snails last night, the aftermath is such that if any other person was subjected to it, I would be placed on trial at the Hague for crimes against humanity. Definitely a good thing that if I decide to start raising snails for a sustainable protein that I will do so out in the woods, alone, and not subject anybody to more cruel and unusual punishment than necessary.

we have a small parking lot.

i wish people would take into consideration that if you're gonna do a walk in, look at how many cars are in the parking lot.

if there is 1 or 2 parking spaces available, chances are we are pretty busy.

just.saying.

The issue with trackpads is that they are not precise enough to use for anything more than simple word processing and web surfing. I do audio and video editing and mixing on computers and trackpads will mess something up fierce. Trying to click, hold, and drag an audio fader a fraction of an inch with a trackpad is an exercise in frustration.
For certain applications (live audio, lighting, video) which don't have desk space for a mouse, the trackball tends to be the go to... Or...I just make sure that I have mouse space open. It's not too big of a deal as there's some really small mouses available these days...I love me some small mouses.

Apparently dark chocolate-covered coffee beans are actually legalized crack.
I need help. (And I don't mean help eating the chocolate-covered coffee beans...)

Admitting you have a problem is the first step in getting help. Good for you.

I cannot believe I'm cold in Texas...during the summer! This rain and cold front was totally unexpected. It's only in the 70s but I really feel like it's snowing!

A couple of minutes ago I checked the status of the salmon fillet I have been curing. Complete success. Extremely tasty. I detect a wonderful bagel sandwich in my future tomorrow. Better go cut some chive from the herb garden and see if I have a jar of capers in the pantry to mix up some good cream cheese spread. Ooh, and some sliced red onion too. Mmm, Mmm.

I would be glad to help. Send me your stash, and you won't have a problem anymore. I don't have a problem, myself. I can quit at any time.

If it turns out right, DO MORE! Make a good thirty or forty and freeze them. Then you won't have to wait so long next time you want one. :D

(And send me about ten of them. It sounds delicious.)

Nuke Pooch that's a very different matter and I concur. I only make soundtracks in a DAW but using a trackpad for such work would be excruciating.

;) Nah... I can't risk putting that kind of strain on your willpower... besides, it's not my stash...

...It's my dad's stash. xD

Linux here.

I could theoretically use Fn+F5 on my machine to temporarily disable the trackpad while I am typing, but then I wouldn't have something to complain about.

Linux?

What Distro?

I use Ubuntu and Debian on the machines I work with.

I'll be over later today for tea. About 3 OK?

I'm not really into Sherlock Holmes, but I find it amusing that Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly will be doing a comedic version of Holmes and Watson lol. I may actually see that. XD

What a coincidence! I also laugh at Northerners when they have to warm the engine of their car up before they can crank it.

I am definitely staying here in Tennessee, where temperatures of above 100 or below zero are both newsworthy events.
