If we treated each other they way we are supposed to... my goodness,
the world we be so different we would not recognize it. That is what
we have to look forward to in the new creation. Come Lord Jesus!
My dear sister, we ARE the new creation, Jesus has come! His Spirit dwells within us. The problem is when we don't believe that. We are set free in Christ Jesus NOW to live spiritual lives, to love one another, to have joy unspeakable, perfect peace that surpasses worldly understanding, no guilt or shame, no partiality, fellowship with one another, the mind of Christ.

We have those things NOW in Jesus! It's when we start listening to the cares of the world and the pride of life that takes our eyes off the liberty and law of love in Christ and we begin living like spiritual vagabonds.

My friend's Dad is black and her Mom is white, she's pretty light skinned. She always said in school she was to white for the black kids and to black for the white kids. Very sad.

I was told that I look Hispanic. I don't think I do though.

The difference between the church in Acts and the church today is................. N-O-T-H-I-N-G!

Because Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. He still walks among us, the church is one body in Him because of him. When one is hurt, we are all getting hurt. When one is lifted up, we're all lifted up.

Don't get deceived by the wisdom of the world.

My hope is in the world to come, not this one. This one shall pass away, and good riddance to it.

My wife worked for the last 8 years of her career, as a supervisor of what was, basically, the Black segment of her company's clientele. But, other than the grandmothers who were raising the majority of the children, she has told me that, for the most part, these stereotypes are based on a very real and visible foundation. She said that most of the tutors she had in that area were White, because many of her Black tutors asked to be assigned to White neighborhoods. They were eager to tutor Black kids, but just didn't want to do so in Black neighborhoods... the very areas in which they, themselves, lived.

This kind of thinking HAS to say something to the rest of us, whether Black or White.

We see, all the time, Black people on TV complaining about the crime and drugs in their very own neighborhoods. Complaining the cops don't do anything. Yet, they not only refuse to assist the police in cleaning up their areas, but if an officer tries to arrest a punk who has just robbed one of them in their own store, what happens? That lone cop is on his own.

To bring the rubber to the road and be bitterly frank and honest, Whites have very little of that. Now, won't all people here agree with that statement... whether you are Black or White?

Why? Because we do not let some jackass community activists dictate our lives. And we sure don't let the gangs and druggies have free reign of our neighborhoods. In my own neighborhood, we have run out several people who attempted to set up shop like that here. If something looks suspicious in this neighborhood, within a matter of minutes, a patrol car is in the area. Why? Because several of us have called........ AND, we are standing in the street, waiting for the car, and clearly explaining what we saw. The officer even have to keep us from going down to that house with them.

It honestly does seem all too clear to mot Whites that almost no Blacks will never do that. Please tell me how White people are supposed to think of Blacks, in general, if this is the kind of thing we see reported over and over again on TV when even Black officers are interviewed?

I don't agree with crap like this teacher friend of ours sends out all the time........... but what is the Black community doing to help her, and others like her, to believe any other way? She really does see Blacks as "the problem" because you honestly seem to be fine with the massive representation you have. The representation Blacks are applauding.

OK, go ahead and tell me where I am wrong, and all that I don't understand.
I'm not going to tell you where you're wrong exactly, but just try and put forth a different thought pattern. I hope as Christians we are all open to correction by the Holy Spirit, and if not I hope we hit our knees and ask Him to make us open.

I don't disagree with you that the inner cities are horrible in many ways. And that anti-police, pro-drug dealer attitude seems to be a very real thing. But I live in the country, in a decently mixed area. And anyone will phone the police if things look suspicious. I was a few miles up the road, asking a (black) neighbor if I could harvest some plants from his yard. (long story there) and he said to help myself. I couldn't get them that day, I was passing through. He said that was fine, just let him know ahead of time so no one will call the cops on us. That is how we as a community operate here in the country, it seems to me.

I wouldn't judge the "black community" by the housing projects of St. Louis, any more than I could judge the white community by the crime-and-drug-ridden areas southwest of where I live. Some of those mountain towns have meth problems that would make you cry, and they become suspicious of strangers and law enforcement officers.

As a side note, one thing that has been bugging me for a long time. Despite a relative boon of blacks with good salaries and nice homes & educations, the democrats always say "more blacks are in poverty than ever before." But it is not due to lack of black upward mobility, it is due to the increasing population in inner cities, where the out-of-wedlock birthrate is often astronomically high. (being born to a single mother is close to a guarantee that you will grow up in poverty.) So no matter the achievements of persons of color, the democrats tend to always paint that sad picture of "things are getting worse, keep voting for us" and it makes me angry.

Just my two cents.

I wrote a fictional story in college depicting Black crew members aboard a US Navy submarine banning together and commandeering the boat.

I was called into the department chairman's office and told to explain myself. I stated to the department head that before I explain myself I wanted to ask the following question:

The US Navy has a very large Phillipino population serving in the ranks. Had I written the story depicting Phillipinos commandeering the boat instead, would I have been called in to see him? He answered no, and with that, the meeting adjourned.

Moral of the story: people need to quit being hypersensative. No one group has cornered the market on being victimized so it's time people quit acting like it. If Willie's OP was about Philipinos there wouldn't have been one-tenth the initial indignation, and that's a fact. When Jesus says we are to Love our neighbors, He means all of them, equally.

That's the very reason I chose to post her e-mail ten minutes after we received it. We all have to get our heads out of the sand about this thing, and start understanding it from the other side.

I understand what you're saying Utah but respectfully disagree with the, if this had been about Phillipino's. I think this particular place CC it would have gotten a lot of the same reaction. If it had been about white people or Native Americans or Asian or whatever I think it would strike a chord with many of us here. Just my thoughts.

last report i seen from the FBI, they admit blacks were responsible for about 70% of all violent crime in the USA
I am not sticking up for either side really but do we think that the crime rates are because of poverty? These people have had a hard time for generations pulling themselves out of the gutter so to speak. I do not want to make excuses for black people but i can say for sure it is very hard to live off very little money every month here in the states. I think this is more of a Social economical problem these thugs or so called thugs are only doing what they have learned for years and years. I do have great respect for people that do the right thing and pull themselves out of the depths of poverty and strive. There is no easy answer if you fix the poverty issue it may help some but I do not think it will help enough

I would have been disappointed if it hadn't gotten a lot of "reaction." When I facilitated Therapy Groups, it was by the amount of "reaction" I received that I was able to determine where more work was needed.

So do you have the power to commit me to one of those fancy places somewhere tropical, that my insurance will cover? Just for a couple of weeks, heck a week would be fine.
