Please pray for Gordon Downie. He has an inoperable brain tumour.
He is the lead singer for The Tragically Hip. They did a cross country
tour ending in their hometown of Kingston, Ontario, Saturday, which
our national broadcast corporation (CBC) globally telecast live. It
may be their last concert ever, depending on Gordon's health.
Their music is much loved here in Canada. I hope you like this one

Gift Shop
The beautiful lull,
The dangerous tug
We get to feel small
From high up above
And after a glimpse
Over the top
The rest of the world
Becomes a gift shop
The pendulum swings
For the horse like a man
Out over the rim
Is ice cream in him
The beautiful lull,
The dangerous tug
We get to feel small
But not out of place at all
We're forced to bed
But we're free to dream
All us human extras,
All us herded beings
And after a glimpse
Over the top
The rest of the world
Becomes a gift shop
I don't know what to believe,
Sometimes I even forget
And if it's a lie
Terrorists made me say it
The beautiful lull,
The dangerous tug
We get to feel small
From high up above
Dear God, we lift up this man to you, this man who has brought so much joy
and tears and happiness to many through the incomparable gift of words and
music that you have blessed him with. Please heal him in Jesus name, amen.
