Those who think like that ("sin it up") will be the ones who will be refined in The Lake of Fire which is Gods refining fire. They never were Gods elect to begin with (narrow is the gate). They believed in vain or not at all.
A quick study of Sheol (Hebrew grave, pit), Hades (Greek grave, pit), Tartarus (for fallen angels) and Gehenna (Valley of G.) shows Hell exists as stated. We all go to hell when we physically die, and we all will be resurrected. The elect are first (who learned in this age the truth). Revelation 20:4b-5a
4...And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished.
God has chosen to let us see contrast (Love-Hate, Pleasure-Pain,.. I could go on) so that we have the eyes and ears to truly learn who God is and His mercy with UNENDING LOVE. Adam and Eve never understood the Glorious position God had them in, they couldn't appreciate His love because they didn't know the opposite. Until,.... you know the rest! God has allowed and even CREATED satan for His bigger picture. This life will be the "PROOF" that OUR OWN WAY (PRIDE) does not work for His Kingdom.
GODS WAY (LOVE) is the "glue" of His Kingdom to come.

that passage doesn't even say that the earth is a circle. it says "God sits enthroned over the circle of the earth" ((Isaiah 40:22))
which doesn't mean the earth is a circle. that word translated as 'circle' is a word which more literally means 'circumference' or 'compass' ((i.e. 'what is encompassed')) -- this passage is just saying that He sees the whole earth.
anywhere you stand, and look all around you, the sum area of what you see is roughly circular, because you can see a certain distance in every direction. talking this way you ignore 'down' directions because there is earth beneath you blocking the view, and ignore the 'up' directions because it's sky. so the 'totality' of everything on the earth, everywhere on it, from any human's perspective, is encompassed in a circular area.
so flat earthers take this verse and twist it, saying it proves the earth is flat and circular. they are using incredibly bad judgement and hermeneutic.
in reality they don't get their idea from 'believing scripture 100%' -- they get their idea from believing conspiracy theories, and then adapting what they read in the scripture to fit their belief.
the church has historically never believed in a flat earth. that's a lie they will tell you. among many other lies.
here's the crux of it all:
this conspiracy theory obsession ((because dig, they are never 'believers' in just one, but many)) and 'flat earth' nonsense is far more important to them than the gospel. flat earth is their gospel. and that ought to tell you something right away.
i agree it's a mental issue. and not all mental issues are physically based -- many are spiritual. conspiracies become an addiction. being challenged looks to them like 'persecution' and hardens their own belief, thinking they must be on the right track because 'the world' rejects them, even though it's believers who are trying to correct them. they live in their own little isolated spaces, thinking they aren't being vain, but it comes down to them thinking they know something no one else knows, so they are special and 'aware'

I recognize this religious extremist jargon mixed in with the scripture. It's self-righteousness attempting to overcompensate for fear and ignorance. There is no peace, no joy, no love in your message. You're not trusting the Lord's sovereignty.

Love is not an attribute of God. God IS love! That's truth we know by his Spirit, not something we can grasp in our intellectual (carnal) minds.
You're trying to define God's truth in your own understanding to justify a conspiracy theory. How can you say you have the Lord's perfect peace when you are anxious and obsessed with the idea that you're being deceived about the earth's shape?

LOL, more assumptions, I'm at peace with God and Gods Word.
Even if there was scary hell (which only self righteous people could believe they won't go there when others will, where's the humble in that?) I trust God and have no fear. My God Keeps His Promises and is able to have His Will Be Done.
And the shape of the earth is secondary, I don't need to know the shape of the Earth but it is interesting and for a Christian to think the World is NOT out to deceive (by satan) is deceived already! It's clear as day, why are we not to be conformed to this world? Do you even know that is in the Bible?

Given the definition of refined, what good would it do to free those people of impurities and purify them if they are going to be destroyed? It was your use of the word 'refined' which led me to ask the question in post #127.
