Probably the best in some situations is to just show people's God's love, as we might be the only light anyone ever sees in this difficult world right now. :( I try not to get hung up in arguing, because people need love, God's love, and our lives can serve as examples of that.

arguing only leads to more arguing more arguing leads to harsh words harsh words turn to anger and hate, only love can still the waters

That's right, and love doesn't mean not sharing Jesus' teachings or the truth, but many get caught up in being precise about Scripture or chastising in a way that shuts the person off. Just speaking the truth in love can go a longer way.

The main issue is we all have different views and understanding of God and his word and his kingdom and many tend to go into debates with their own beliefs and views set in stone and so when they are either confronted or proven wrong they refuse to accept teachings or correction. if we are not willing to accept our own views may be wrong we will never learn and if we go nto debates and cannot seem to debate in a mature loving and christ like manner we should not be debating. The truth is only effect when spoken in love

I tried that for the first 20 years of my life in Christ. I worked for a business for nine years. On the last day, a coworker wore a Christian T-shirt. I was surprised and said, "You're a Christian?"

He laughed and asked if I was one too. Both of us had just assumed the other one was just a nice guy.

Lots of people teach this. No one knows it's love from God until we speak up.

Totally true, people need to witness the love of God in us. And when I step away from myself and the Lord shows me people thru his eyes, I can love them thru Lord Jesus.

Agape love is not found in my flesh, it's a spiritual act of God within us thru Lord Jesus. And where I struggle is when I witness people taking their jealousy, insecurities and self-righteous anger out on other people. I don't care when they take their spite out on me because that's always a great opportunity to get over myself and die to fleshly pride, ya know? And glory to God for that! Praise God for the miracle of growing in grace! \:eek:/

But man, do I struggle with my flesh when I see someone disguising their critical spirit with a cloak of maliciousness, trying to pull the wool over people's eyes & acting like they are being helpful, yet being mean & spiteful to another member here. These critical folks seem to delight in breaking people down and rallying other immature Christians to agree with them. And if you mention their error to them, no matter that it's in a spirit of meekness, they will turn and rend you, even troll you and nitpick at you out of spite. It's almost demonic! :(

Anyway, that's where I struggle. When I witness someone delighting in messing with other people's minds and hearts and having no mercy. It's like how the Scribes & Pharisees self-righteously vexed people with constant criticism while boasting about themselves. :p The kind of folks who refuse to be corrected but are always correcting others. I usually wind up stepping away from the computer and crying out to God that I know that I know that I know my flesh is always wrong and his spirit is always right. Then he gives me peace and I come back. :eek: Glory to his name!

I was going to leave this site for a while again, like Ricky did. I had decided that last night.

God changed my mind this morning. He reminded me that just because this is supposed to be a Christian site it isn't necessarily a Christian site. It is part of the world. Here's Spurgeon's Morning devotional that changed my mind:

[h=1]This Morning's Meditation[/h][h=3]C. H. Spurgeon[/h]
"Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar."—Psalm 120:5.
[FONT=&quot]
S a Christian you have to live in the midst of an ungodly world, and it is of little use for you to cry "Woe is me." Jesus did not pray O that you should be taken out of the world, and what He did not pray for you need not desire. Better far in the Lord's strength to meet the difficulty, and glorify Him in it. The enemy is ever on the watch to detect inconsistency in your conduct; be therefore very holy. Remember that the eyes of all are upon you, and that more is expected from you than from other men. Strive to give no occasion for blame. Let your goodness be the only fault they can discover in you. Like Daniel, compel them to say of you, "We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God." Seek to be useful as well as consistent. Perhaps you think, "If I were in a more favourable position I might serve the Lord's cause, but I cannot do any good where I am"; but the worse the people are among whom you live, the more need have they of your exertions; if they be crooked, the more necessity that you should set them straight; and if they be perverse, the more need have you to turn their proud hearts to the truth. Where should the physician be but where there are many sick? Where is honour to be won by the soldier but in the hottest fire of the battle? And when weary of the strife and sin that meets you on every hand, consider that all the saints have endured the same trial. They were not carried on beds of down to heaven, and you must not expect to travel more easily than they. They had to hazard their lives unto the death in the high places of the field, and you will not be crowned till you also have endured hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. Therefore, "stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong."

I struggle with how to approach people sometimes, too. Like if I'm a sinner, what gives me the right to tell someone else how to live his/her life? I struggle with that, but the Apostles were sinners, and Jesus asked them to make Disciples of all nations. It wasn't optional. lol I think that what we do, is find a way that we're comfortable with, and just start talking about Jesus, weaving it into conversations. I've done this at work, and it's been well received, and you find out who believes and who doesn't believe, and then you can go from there. I think where some people get hung up is that they think that their witnessing has the power to convert someone's heart, and it doesn't. It is solely God's love and mercy that a person must recognize in order to be born again. I think though, that we can at least do our part to helping people hear the Word, for we might be the only people who have ever talking about it with some people. :)

there is a vast difference in giving brotherly and sisterly correction in love and judging another for their sins. a sinner cannot judge another sinner for sinning but loving correction however teaches heals and promotes growth.
I mean a parent teaches their kids not lie but even parents lie even if it's a white lie it's still a lie but the kid who takes their words to heart grows up valuing honesty and integrity

Totally agree, lots of folks love you. Don't let the mean ones chase you away.

They have to deal with unforgiveness and holding grudges...it's really their problem because God told us to forgive and give it all to Him.

Mods and admin are trying their best. They close and bann, but folks can and do just come back with new names...sometimes it's easier to mark them with their current names than figure out their new disguises.
