Nothing will cure a cold.
Most "cold remedies" are things that might help avoid one if you eat/ drink it on a regular basis. (I,e, vitamin C won't cure a cold, but if you always get plenty of it, your immune system might fight it off before it gets hold)

For comfort/ temporary relief;
- Heat milk (just below boiling point) and add bit of honey
(You can also add a bit of cinnamon, it tastes good, but it's likely to "clot" and look a bit yucky(

- Get plenty of fluid if your throat is "slimy", it will help dilute the mucus

- A hot shower might help for mucus as well

- If you cough a lot a night, elevate the head- end of your bed

Apple Cider Vinegar drink mixtures and vapor over the stove, not even kidding it will destroy sinus infections that otherwise require antibiotics. Good luck.

Absolutely. Glutathione will kill all those germs in your system and totally curtail any developing cold. If you can get some glutathione lozenges from invite health, they're sublingual - that will completely get rid of it all.

I read in another thread that chocolate cures everything...

I've got a feeling that won't work on this either!

Some good ideas mentioned here though!

Exercise even if you don't feel like it, running/exercise that causes sweat will heat up the body and kill off the germs faster than if you take otc junk that just band-aids as a temporary solution......Work out and your sickness duration will be shorter and recover faster.....

Take some star anise and chew it up/let it sit in boiling/hot water for 15 min or so, then drink it! Sure it may be a little strong but you will feel better instantly! It has the same chemical they use in Tamiflu (oseltamivir) minus the expensive pill price that they use to shorten the flu.....it was derived from star anise....

you can make yogi tea for something stronger....

use black tea leaves/grounds, 1 tsp
black pepper-a pinch
star anise break it up 2-stars broken up
cloves 2-3 pieces
cardamom 2-3 pieces
half stick of cinnamon
(red chilli pepper spice -optional and may burn but does good if used)
Boiling hot water and let it simmer for 15 min with all these spices in

Then drink it up....it may be initially strong to taste/not taste well but it is worth it to drink it and feel better afterward, you can re-use the spices for two more cups of boiling water before they lose potency....

You can make this at home or just buy it from the vitamin shoppe...or amazon other brick mortar health stores....it's a bit cheaper and easier though to make it at home with your spice cupboard.... :)

Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar is one way, plus certain fruits and veggies, 'real ones'..

do a type-in on the subject, it should help a lot.

Has anyone mentioned lemon, ginger, or echinacea yet? Goldenseal in small quantities?
Oil of oregano? Oh my goodness it is vile but will definitely help if your cold is viral based.
Also, make sure to get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids :D

I know, many will think that I shouldn't say this, but I will anyway :), hubby and I have not
had a 'cold or flu in years', all due to our eating habits and supplements, many of which are
in the Bible...

If you are getting a cold you should cut down on your dairy consumption, as dairy stimulates and increases mucous production in the body, which is not something you want in excess when and if the cold hits. Pumpkin, ginger, honey, onion, garlic, grapefruit, pineapple, cayenne, and chamomile all help reduce mucous.

Good quality colloidal silver kills cold and most flue viruses. It also kills most any bacterial infection. The silver edge dot com gives a lot of information on what it helps with and doesn't. They sell a generator, but you don't need it if you don't use much. A bottle of it will keep for a couple of years, if stored properly. A half ounce three times a day will usually get rid of a cold in three days, but use it for a couple of days afterward or it is likely to come back on you.
