Yeah the eighties was a fun time Dan. The clothes the different styles, punk rock, preppie, jock. I remember all the VJ's on MTV. When we had cable with VH1 they ran that show, I loved the show, I loved the 80's. It was so funny and brought back good memories. The show that's on now The Goldbergs, is great and accurate too.

Thats one thing Im actually kinda jealous of with people older than me : p They always talk about how being young in the like 70's, 80's and 90's was so awesome, and all the things they remember and all that. I was a teen in the like mid to early 2000's. I dont feel like they were special or at all interesting : p I dont have those fond memories like people from previous decades have of theirs, and I certainly dont miss that period of time : p

Is kinda a bummer.

Born in 1988, so practically from the 90's generation. Glad God brought me in the world during that era. Had my best childhood memories during that time.

I guess being a child in the 90's was pretty cool : p I dont remember much about the era in a more like pop-culture way because I was so young and all, but the time itself as a child was fun : p The cartoons at the time were fun, and I really enjoyed playing NES with my siblings, so I guess I could say I liked them : p

(Also born in '88)

I am Generation x, born in 1970. In college I had to write a paper defending my generation. I had to write why I thought my Generation wasn't full of spoiled lazy idiots. The sad thing about this labeling of Generations is that people tend to clump us all together. As I went to high school and worked almost every day after school and on weekend, I was told by a lot of the older generation that our generation was lazy and we had everything so easy. I hear that about every generation, oh the Millennials are spoiled and lazy and they expect everything handed to them. It seems very unfair to me that we're all lumped into these categories because of the worlds view of what younger people are like.

Yesterday I was at the mall. I was sitting in the food court eating lunch. They have this chain pizza restaurant. This older man walks up to the counter and starts yelling at them about how it's not real Italian food and they're to lazy to make anything else. He asked one of the guy's if he new how to make Pasta E Fagioli? He said, no, then he went on about how it easy it is to make and he was a lazy young person. He may have been senile. But it's pretty common that older generations think less of younger generations. I think that's to bad.
The sh1t generation.

I was born in 1994, all the people around these days are puss1es or are "afraid to offended people" people my age have grown up wrapped around in cotton wool and know nothing of the real world.

I feel like I should have been born in a MUCH earlier generation.

I used to work with a guy who told me that he grew up during the best time. He is in his early 60's now. He said that he barely missed being drafted to go to Vietnam, our society was much better when he was young (better music, better movies/TV shows, people were better etc..) and now that our society is going down the tubes, he has retired (his words). lol

I don't like my generation.
Mostly because everyone won't grow up and toughen up.
All the "participation awards" and "never say no to your child"
That's my biggest problem with my generation.
Toughen up people

I agree that generations seem to only be getting worse. But in all honesty it is not that generations fault that they're lazier or whatever else they may be. That falls on the generation before them who raised them.

The only thing that makes people tough up, is tough times.

The biggest problem with my generation, in my opinion, is that no one bothers attempting to make us grow up. We got trophies for playing, pass classes so our feelings don't get hurt and EVERYONE tries to sugar coat reality. Overall we are given privileges without responsibility but no one understands why we do stupid stuff. Stop removing the consequences and we'd be better off.

Sadly, even though many of us who are parents and grandparents now may not like to admit it, you do have a point.

I know :pHonestly, shielding a person from natural consequence will eventually backfire. You eventually reach a point that people can't "fix" your mistakes. Eventually you end up eith a very crappy life and a huge pit to pull yourself out of.

I was born in 1977, so I guess that makes me Generation "Y" according to what I've seen online. I don't really have much to say about my generation because I never got too involved with it. I didn't do the same things others did growing up, coming of age, or now that we're adults. I was able to pretty well isolate myself from everyone thanks to my conditions, neuroses, and personality flaws. One thing I did notice is that technology seemed to move extremely fast during my growing up and I wasn't very comfortable with that. I don't particularly trust technology.

yea im from the generation 2000. Ppl always degrade people for their age. Its always been that way. Its always the same. Your always too young or too old. I usually ignored it when people attacked me but by now I always turn it around lol. Its not like everyone grew up adult besides me. Plus people always tend to believe everyone is like they were..they dont like hearing that. I see how many ppl around my age are spoiled and lazy..the craziest for me is to see like 6yr olds runnin around with a touch screen phone and tablet. Yet that gives no one the right to judge.
====================================================

Demi,

having an opinion and a loving judgment are two very different things - each of us have the
right to our own opinion about what we see and witness, and the Bible is very clear
on a Christian's duty and right to judge another, if we and they are truly a Christian...

how else may we learn and grow if our brothers and sisters in Christ don't bring us back
into God's reality when we un-intentionally 'back-slide' and hurt our Father through
a weakness? our Heavenly Father has many expectations of us in our serving of Him, and
He definitely has very deep feelings about when we dis-obey and dis-honor Him...
