Can we just get together in one place to discuss this... it would make it so much easier face to face. I suggest the local pub. ;)
Honestly, there is probably more truth shared at the local pub among brothers than any other place.

I have fallen in love with dopplebock beer. I read it was created by monks to sustain them during fasting.
I love IPA. it sustains me through the feast of the legalist.

How can they be "swallowed up in wine" if it was grape juice?

It was full of vomit and not clean because they were drunk and puking all over.
That wasn't grape juice. The point is not every use of the word wine means it's alcoholic wine. That one was.

Nehemiah 10:39 (KJV)
[SUP]39 [/SUP]For the children of Israel and the children of Levi shall bring the offering of the corn, of the new wine, and the oil, unto the chambers, where are the vessels of the sanctuary, and the priests that minister, and the porters, and the singers: and we will not forsake the house of our God.
[HR][/HR]Nehemiah 13:5 (KJV)
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And he had prepared for him a great chamber, where aforetime they laid the meat offerings, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithes of the corn, the new wine, and the oil, which was commanded to be given to the Levites, and the singers, and the porters; and the offerings of the priests.
[HR][/HR]Nehemiah 13:12 (KJV)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Then brought all Judah the tithe of the corn and the new wine and the oil unto the treasuries.
[HR][/HR]Proverbs 3:10 (KJV)
[SUP]10 [/SUP]So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
[HR][/HR]Isaiah 65:8 (KJV)
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all.
[HR][/HR]Hosea 9:2 (KJV)
[SUP]2 [/SUP]The floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail in her.

The New wine in the Temple was unfermented, used for holy use. Freshly pressed grape juice isn't alcoholic wine.

Yeah, this would be the reason that I drink. Why can't you just discuss the post that YOU posted to make a point? Discuss it one by one.

2 of em you have already conceded that wine is not grape juice.

DO you want to try the third scripture that YOU posted or not?

I have a question for everyone..... Can you find drinking "grape juice" in the Bible? Numbers 6 is excluded fo it speaks of the Nazarite vow. NT scriptures speaking of wine presses are also excluded, for nobody's drinking in those verses. Use ANY serious Bible translation you like.

Come on Stephen. 2 of the 3 verses that you posted you have conceded that the wine mentioned is not grape juice. What was the other verse you mentioned?

No. Grape juice and wine are two very different things. If you don't agree with drinking alcohol, that's fine. But please don't twist the Bible to say something it doesn't actually say.

I'm only talking about those who make their boasts that all wine in the Bible is alcoholic. I didn't twist anything. If you think I did, just answer my question with a Bible verse. It shouldn't be that hard for you. :)

All of these are grape juice.
This is the 3rd scripture you brought up to "rebuke" me that wine is grape juice . And the other 2 you conceded that it was actually alcoholic wine.

Lemme show you some other scriptures:

Isaiah 5:11 (KJV)
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!

"till wine inflame them" how can grape juice inflame them?

3 for 3 or am I missing something?

You gave me 3 scriptures that showed wine is not grape juice. If you want to continue, please just give ONE scripture and we can discuss. Then the next.

Yes, you are missing something. Fermented AND unfermented wine in the Bible are both known as wine.

The wine in the temple was unfermented. Do you really think it wasn't? Just because catholic priests use it doesn't mean the Hebrew priests did.

I'm not playing by your rules, so forget it. You're not pulling me into that.

This is why I told you lets not and say we did....Discussion is fine, but you are enforcing and defending your beliefs and interpretation, which you have a right to, what you don't have a right to do is say I AM RIGHT AND YOU ARE WRONG and that friend, is what you are doing..
He does when he is..... & he is.:)

just one teeny problem with that, Stephen:

it's wrong.

Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
(Acts 2:13)

Others mocking said,
These men are full of new wine.
But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them,
Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
(Acts 2:13-15)

That "new wine" in scripture is not alcoholic is *almost* a convincing argument.
But it's contrary to scripture; it's a prohibitionist lie.
There are perfectly good Hebrew and Greek words for "
juice" that are simply not being used in any of these passages. The word is "wine" and we know what that means -- even if you cannot bear it, you know what that means.

Y'all need to get down from the high horse and realize that this is from God; that it is meant to be a blessing, to be received in temperance with thanksgiving, but it has been used of Satan and abused by the lusts of men's hearts.
