We learn from the Bible that it is okay to drink a little alcohol, but not okay to drink a lot. Where do you draw the line?
I prefer not to drink at all.indraepw the line as soon as alchohal comes into the question. it ruins lives. in the bible, the wine used was not phermented as it is today. even children drank it then.
I suspect a lot of heavy drinkers think they drink moderately.Moderation.
If you're out of control you've gone too far.
Same with eating. Same with just about everything.
half my family drinksI prefer not to drink at all.

I think alcoholics are in denial.Do you think "heavy" eaters think they eat moderately?
I think people with problems know they have problems.
I think alcoholics are in denial.
most probley are. its a very hard addiction to breakI think alcoholics are in denial.
Okay, so today is a good day to stop. I had to stop.Yes, we are. I say this as someone who is most likely an alcoholic but also as someone who is still deluded in thinking that I have control over my drinking, which I obviously do not.

wine in biblical days was not phermented as it is today. thus, even kids drank itPsalm 104.15 And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart.
I will drink no wine before its time.
Okay, it's time!

Wine just goes with food. It also has some other health helps (antioxidants, etc.) - and I think we all know what moderation is. Usually you can "feel" it. But I drink about 5 or 6 oz. with a moderate dinner. To me, it compliments cheese and various foods. Especially salmon.
It becomes a problem when you must have it when you are stressed - or cannot go for a time without it. Keeping it as part of a special dinner is not a problem. And certainly not a small glass.
There was actually two kinds: fermented and unfermented. You cannot get drunk on unfermented wine and we have many scriptures pointing to that. Noah for example. David, etc
