What I posted in another thread:

The Bible is God's Word. There are about 30,000-40,000 Christian denominations in this world with about 40 major divisions of belief. Those who believe in God's Word and follow it, although they don't dot every i and cross every t, are going to be honored for how they've lived and what they've done in life if they were in Christ and obedient to God to the best of their ability.

I thought we were past the days of Fundamentalism? Jesus said of Herod, "Go and tell that fox..." No one thinks Jesus was actually referring to Herod as a literal fox, but when it comes to other areas of the Bible, it all has to be taken literally line upon line precept upon precept. When God gave the Israelites the Law of Moses, it was line upon line and precept upon precept. It was very ordered and direct and was to be followed perfectly. When God came to Earth as Yeshua Hamashiach, he spoke in parables and with illustrations. It was vague and metaphorical. The people hearing it at the time did not have it expounded to them and Jesus said it fulfilled Isaiah's words that they had eyes to see and ears to hear yet they didn't see or hear or understand what He was talking about.

Now, 2000 years later, we have 40+ major divisions of Christianity and all of them saying they have the truth. We should definitely go back to the Bible for the truth, but how we interpret that may divide us more than unite us. Is it more important to God that we have perfect religion than godly fellowship? This gets to the heart of the matter. Those who Paul condemned in his letters were preaching a different gospel. Want to know what that different gospel was? It was the gospel of "you have to be circumcised" "you can't eat unclean animals" "you have to keep a certain day for the Sabbath". He denounced all those things in favor of "My grace is sufficient".

When Paul would write to the Gentiles and preach to them, he kept his list of commands very simple: don't eat things sacrificed to idols, abstain from sexual immorality, etc. Those who think we have to go back and repent all over again every time we break the speed limit or say a cussword are going to waste a lot of their lives trying to be perfect when God's more interested in us following Him, trusting in Him, being saved by grace through faith and that not of ourselves but it is a gift from God, being overcomers of the world, loving thy neighbor as thyself, taking up our cross, etc. Not starting a new religion and DEFINITELY NOT berating our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ because they believe differently than us - that is not the Holy Spirit's desire for His church. He wants us to be clean and full of love and full of grace and full of joy. This hateful spiritual cannibalism is usually caused by people who aren't out there in the world preaching the Gospel. Try getting off your internet high horse and go do some ministry in the real world and you'll find enough trials and tribulations that seeking spiritual perfection through absolute obedience to every letter of the law will be seen for the waste of time that it is. We aren't Levites.

If good works are produced because of salvation, then it is not works for salvation. But I know you guys will try your best to misrepresent this, as you have in the past, and still do even today. :)
I rejoice knowing God doesn't say, "you guys" regarding those who place their faith in the fullness of Jesus Christ's righteousness.

You know what people really don't like?

Its the idea of not having power over every situation. They love their free will. They abstained from the unclean. They keep themselves from sin.

But that's not what the Lord tells us.

2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

If you are relying on your own strength and your own understanding then you are not relying on the strength and power of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Its that simple.

Why is it, do you think, that "your" group has such disdain for His Grace? Because it takes away from the illusion of your own power. Why else would you refer to it as "Hyper"?

No one who relies on the Lord Jesus Christ would ever call His Grace hyper grace. That is a term for scoffers, dishonoring the Work and Grace of God.

It is completely logical for legalists and workers to have a disdain for Grace. How is it fair that the legalists work so hard to be "sinless". Everyone should have to work as hard as they do. How can people expect to make it to the Kingdom of God if they are not at least as "righteous" as the legalist and worker, "maintaining" their salvation and keeping themselves "clean" and "holy".

Nicely put. I think this about says it all..

But it is prophesied that many would depart from the faith, and thus in doing so fall away from the faith= being unfruitful and eventually being cast forth as a dead branch and burned like Jesus said. But OSAS followers twist the meaning of that parable like alot of other verses to force their false doctrine to fit the doctrines of men. These are those who were once in Christ, once enlightened by the Holy Spirit but departed, and fell away as Heb 6:4-6 shows this fact also. OSAS doctrine is false, and one can in fact fall away from the faith and be lost. But the doctrines of men have blinded you and many others from seeing this very important warning and Truth.
People who fall away from the faith aren't hanging out on CC. Give me a break.

Dont be such "a heretic" :p "YUZ"?... LOL!

Lets open a thread on that and make a stink of that word ;) I want to be of the number of them which Isaiah 29:21 speaks of

But we used to say "hey you guys" living in PA (that wasnt strange there) but now having moved down south "these guys" are all like "howdy yA'LL". Its hard to blend with folks on the worldwide web because you got northerners, southerners and everyone else smashed into the threads examining your local adresses of the man species, they are called "beasts too" should make that universal "Hey beasties"! That might go over better LOL!

I'm cracking up thinking of Jesus returning and having a Southern accent.

Not me, I am always going on about how my spelling and grammar stinks, and that if anyone wants to find mistakes they are there, besides I dont use spellcheck and make a ton of misspellings. Its not that high on my priority list I suppose

But I think he was playing with the word itself, sort of like how one might say "I LUV you", thats purposefully misspelling the word Love as LUV as folks typically know.

And everyone "ought to" know that Magenta:p

I was accused at trying to be smart earlier but I am cool with making allances or misspelled words like LUV or YUZ, its all okay by me, I do try not to make folks an offenders for words:)

But I am serious about being bad at spelling and grammar but I can laugh at myself concerning it, because you can be serious about something (concerning yourself) and laugh at the same thing (being such a small thing) with someone pointing out that sort of irony (which you might fall under). Its not being all that serious (when doing so).

I didnt take you seriously Magenta

I agree with you that in terms of sinners, one gets very defensive about giving over
to others or the Lord.

But when we come to Christ this all changes. So many times people ask me to do
things and I have learnt to respond Amen, the Lord is calling inside me.

So all the things you have written are true for those who do not know the Lord.
But that is where it ends.

The reason why I use HG is because you all seem to agree an approach and
an outlook so this label works.

I also rejoice knowing God isn't a foolish Pharisee mocking those who embrace the fullness of Christ's saving grace. But I digress; keep mocking such people; Matthew 5:11-12 is alive and well.

Its true, that the defintion for the secular word "guy" has the word "fellow"

The same is used in scripture

Daniel 2:13 And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.

See?

I would use the phrase "liar, liar, pants on fire", but this one seems more correct.
