Exodus 20:8
[SUP]8 [/SUP]“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

God said "remember the Sabbath Day". God did not say remember Saturday and keep it Holy.

Show us Yonah and disciplemike where in the SCRIPTURES does God say keep Holy Saturday?

Its only YOUR opinion that we are to keep Saturday.

Romans 14:5
[SUP]5 [/SUP]One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind.

I am totally convinced in my mind we CAN keep the Sabbath on Sunday.

Romans 14:6
[SUP]6 [/SUP]He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord

Romans 14:13
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this—not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother’s way.

God says NOT to judge us, not to put a stumbling block before us. So why are you ignoring what God Says?

please answer 2 questions: 1, what do we determine makes a command a ceremonial law or not, and 2. who gets to determine this?

Thanks I can try.

#1....Keeping in mind the interpretation guide/law (2Corinthians 4:18 ) used in parables to hide the spiritual meaning from the unsaved natural man as those who do have the Spirit of Christ, the anointing Holy Spirit of God and the spiritual understanding is revealed to those who do have. This is so we can compare the spiritual to the spiritual not seen as a discipline of faith.

This understanding is that natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Christ for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Jew and Gentile alike.

2Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Ceremonial laws are used in temporal ceremonies involving the coming of the flesh of Christ ,when he as the Son of man put on corrupted flesh typified as sinful for a temporal time period as an outward demonstration of the spiritual work of the Spirit. That work of the Spirit would be reckoned as a labor of His love or called a work of His faith, not seen. .

Every piece of furniture used in the ceremonies represented some to do with the coming of Christ in respect to the suffering beforehand as the way(singular) of Christ preaching the gospel in respect to His suffering beforehand. Just as we look back on this side of the reformation they looked ahead by faith (the unseen)

1Pe 1:11 Searching what, or what manner of time the “Spirit of Christ” which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

Many today from my experience say they did not have the Spirit of Christ until the new testament. Which I believe is a error
Not all were given the Spirit of Christ knowing if any man Jew or Gentile has not the Holy Spirit then neither could they belong to Christ. It is not a new testament principle that cannot be applied to any believer. Abel believed God and it was counted as righteousness in respect to that imputed work of Christ.

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

He came to his own and his own received him not because it did not fit ideology of the Jewish fathers, Christ’s nemesis.

Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 1John 4:2

The veil as shadow of good things to come was the means of keeping the way into the presence of God from other nations until the time of reformation.

By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

I believe that helps to give us his understanding so that we do not have to lean on our own or that of other men. Seeing we no longer have an outward represented used as a shadow of the coming of Christ. this is in keeping the interpretation law found in 2Corinthians 4:18 .

The word figure below is the word parable.

The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:Which was a "figure" for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them "until" the time of reformation. Hebrews 10:20

#2..... The Spirit of Christ, the Holy Spirit of God gets to determine it.

This is an armstrong foundation group.
So I think this article is miles too long for a simple interpretation of the sabbath.

If you want to celebrate the sabbath, amen, if not, amen.
We have entered into Christs rest.

I like keeping sunday special, and go to church, and spend time with the family and
avoid buying things. But I still watch TV, use electricity and gas which require other
people to work.

I worked in a christian community on a ship. You could not realistically not work everyday
you are at sea, or you risk sinking. So there are limits to the sabbath ordinances.

Most of the strict sabbath keepers I have met are into self justication, which is amusing to me
as the HG group accuse me of this, while not realising they are so extreme, everyone is a legalist
as compared to their theology.

But in the end I praise the Lord he has showed my heart love and liberty.
And that matters more to me than the arguments people come with, Halleluyah.

you are correct about the Armstrong thing, but I've read on the site I posted that after his death in 1986 they went back to a more traditional way of Doctrine this is what you'll find on the site.

Pro 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Pro 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

I see in all this no text that says the Sabbath was changed, this texts are referring the the preishood NOT the Sabbbath

3 Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, [SUP]2 [/SUP]who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house. [SUP]3 [/SUP]For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house. [SUP]4 [/SUP]For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God. [SUP]5 [/SUP]And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, [SUP]6 [/SUP]but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.

[SUP]7 [/SUP]Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:
“Today, if you will hear His voice,
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,
In the day of trial in the wilderness,
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me,
And saw My works forty years.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Therefore I was angry with that generation,
And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart,
And they have not known My ways.’
[SUP]11 [/SUP]So I swore in My wrath,
They shall not enter My rest.’”

[SUP]12 [/SUP]Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; [SUP]13 [/SUP]but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. [SUP]14 [/SUP]For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, [SUP]15 [/SUP]while it is said:
“Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

if all the law and the prophets hang on those 2 commands hoiw can anything hang on something if its gone?
Matthew 5 says ~
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. [SUP]18 [/SUP]For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.

Luke 24 says ~
[SUP]44 [/SUP]Then He said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” [SUP]45 [/SUP]And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.

[SUP]46 [/SUP]Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, [SUP]47 [/SUP]and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

The priesthood are the believers typified by a kingdom of priests after the new manner. Christians (Jews and gentiles, all nations ) perform their priestly duties to go out into the world with the gospel of peace bringing the hearer under the authority of God called baptizing in respect to the father and the Son led by the Spirit of Christ, the anointing Holy Spirit of God that indwells every believer . .The new era of Sabbath rest is from the time of reformation it is the first day of the week to celebrate the new creation, as a ceremonial law .

There will be a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, where the commandments are written on their hearts. This is the only "new' covenant.

The Law Written on Our Hearts is not the Ten Commandments

This is the covenant I will make with them after that time,” says the Lord. “I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” (Heb 10:16)
“This is obviously a reference to the law of Moses,” says the law-preacher. “The Ten Commandments were written in stone, now they’re written in the hearts and minds of God’s people.”

Not true. Here are seventeen reasons why God has not written the Ten Commandments on your heart:

1. The law inflames sin (Rom 5:20) and the strength of sin is the law (1 Cor 15:56). Why would God want to stir up sin in your life?

2. The law condemns (2 Cor 3:9), yet there is no condemnation to those in Christ.

3. The law ministers death (2 Cor 3:7), but God wants you to enjoy abundant life.

4. Law and grace don’t mix. You are under grace, not law (Rom 6:14).

5. Living by the law will alienate you from Christ (Gal 5:4).

6. Living by the law is cheating on Jesus (Rom 7:1-6). Why would God do anything to encourage spiritual adultery?

7. We’re to live by faith but the law is not of faith (Gal 3:12). The law encourages us to depend on ourselves instead of Jesus.

8. Those who live under the law are under a curse (Gal 3:10). Why would God curse those he has blessed?

9. The law binds and enslaves (Rom 7:6), but Jesus wants you free.

10. The law keeps you immature for it makes nothing perfect or complete (Heb 7:19).

11. We have died to the law so that we may serve in the new way of the Spirit and “not in the old way of the written code” (Rom 7:6).

12. When there has been a change of priesthood, the law must be changed also (Heb 7:12). For God to write the old law on our hearts would be like saying Aaron is greater than Jesus.

13. God found fault with the law-keeping covenant and made it obsolete (Heb 8:7,13). Why would God insult his Son’s sacrifice by giving you the very thing his sacrifice rendered obsolete?

14. The law is a shadow of the good things to come and not the reality (Heb 10:1). Why would God give you the shadow instead of “the good thing”?

15. The Jews considered the law to be ordained by angels (Heb 2:2). If so, says the author of Hebrews, then it is inferior to the gospel of Jesus (Heb 1:4). Why would God give you an inferior gift?

16. Some Christians think that God gives them the law as a guide to live by, but why would God want you to repeat the mistake of the Galatians (Gal 3:2)? Why would God do anything to make you fall from grace?

17. The old law-keeping covenant required an accounting or remembering of sin, but the new covenant is characterized by God forgiving and forgetting on account of Jesus (Heb 10:17). If the law that God writes in our hearts is the law of Moses, then Jesus died for nothing.

If God has written the Ten Commandments on your heart and mind, you should be able to list all ten with no trouble. Can you? What’s the seventh commandment? You can’t do it because it’s not there, and a very good thing that is too! If the law that God writes in our hearts is the law of Moses, you’re in big trouble.

The good news is that God has written in us a far better law. What is this new and better law?
