You are hereby fired for dereliction of your duties: not delivering a daily package that is CLEARLY marked "must be delivered daily". ;) :p

I'm so happy. I am playing hooky from work today, have an appointment early this afternoon at a spa, going to the bookstore, and just enjoying the day. Granted. I've got a doctor's appointment and a meeting, but hey girls gotta have some fun and since I'm blonde it's going to be spectacular fun;)

That iced mocha cappucino is probably gone by now if it is delivered to you everyday. :p

20 hour day at work starts for post now.

5 hour commute, each way, and a long day ahead when i get there. i am the only driver.
((heh, post's services are highly sought after -- this is costing someone a lot of money to send me so far))

please pray for our safety in travel, and for post to represent his Lord with faithful, good service when i arrive

:)
so -- you may have noticed post posting from post's phone early this morning, and you may be doing the math now thinking "this is < 20"

well..

about 180 miles into my commute, at about 75mph something like this was thrown into the air at my drivers window by a van a few lengths ahead of me and one lane over to my right..

m-hdtmar13-flattire-1.jpg

((stock photo, lol - not actual debris))

i swerved to the left to avoid it, but it impacted my headlight and front airdam on the passenger side, rolled under the wheel and bent up the body bracing behind the wheelwell, destroying the headlight & bumper and knocking a hole in the radiator.

everyone is OK, but Kiki ((post's car)) is now in the 'car hospital' and all my passengers are wide awake...

so without post & company, the job i was sent to do was cancelled, and after hanging around in a truckstop for a few hours, making ninja-posts from my phone, a colleague arrived to take us all back home.

gee guys, thanks for the "prayers"

hahaha
;)

no really -- seeing me calm in the face of all this impacted my colleagues and the time i got to spend with my area manager who came to pick us up and drive me all the way back home was fruitful & opened a lot of doors. and this is a thing that could have been a lot worse than it was, but was just bad enough to keep us from working all day. i know for sure this is what God had planned for me and everyone else today - seeing that playing out already in ways i can't ((and/or shouldn't)) really post, and it is for the good.

i love you, and see! the Lord cares for me :)

I visited some car dealerships the other day and got sticker shock! New cars cost too much, especially trucks and SUV'S! Some of the vehicles I looked at cost more than what I paid for my first house and they want you to get a 7 year loan! Something has to give.

A long stretch of headlights
Bends into I-9
Tiptoe into truck stops
And sleepy diesel eyes

Volcanoes rumble in the taxi
And glow in the dark
Camels in the driver's seat
A slow, easy mark

But you ran out of gas
Down the road a piece
Then the battery went dead
And now the cable won't reach...

It's your last chance
To check under the hood
Last chance
She ain't soundin' too good,
Your last chance
To trust the man with the star
You've found the last chance Texaco

Well, he tried to be Standard
He tried to be Mobil
He tried living in a world
And in a Shell

There was this block-busted blonde
He loved her - free parts and labor
But she broke down and died
And threw all the rods he gave her

Ah but this one ain't fuel-injected
Her plug's disconnected
She gets scared and she stalls
She just needs a man, that's all

It's her last chance
Her timing's all wrong
Her last chance
She can't idle this long
Her last chance
Turn her over and go
Pullin' out of the last chance Texaco
The last chance

Playing nicely. That is what is on my mind. Here is what I can't understand. When some people talk about biblical topics how is it that they can be so cutting and cruel to others who do not share their views? Shouldn't it be the hallmark of Christians that our words are seasoned with grace? We should be able to talk about anything, and be patient and kind. We should be intelligent and able to challenge each other in a positive way but there is no place for being insulting or condescending. I've jumped out of a few threads, not because they disagreed with my viewpoint, but a few were being so rude that no real conversation could happen. How can some be so disagreeable while claiming a relationship with Christ? I say that knowing my own faults, and I can give a list if asked, but my thoughts are on how we treat each other here, in the church and in life in general. That is what is on my mind and rather than a critique it is a sincere bid to discuss how we could model our faith when we interact with each other.
(Personally I've had really nice contact with people here and the one that was sharp with me was kind after I explained myself.) I mean this with no tone.
