In order to understand Romans 6-7 ( and then finally chapter 8 where the Spirit comes in ) we need to understand the difference between "sin" and "sinning".

Not knowing this leads to all kinds of doctrines like this "sinless perfection" one that some try to promote. This doctrine will upset the faith of the young Christian and really in the end promote turmoil in their minds and upset their faith.

This will also create a works-righteousness mindset instead of a faith-righteousness one that is completely fixed on Christ's completed work for the believer.

We will always have the flesh with us and anyone that says they never are "sinning" have a very low opinion of the holiness of God and are only thinking of the "biggie sins" which they don't do.

Malice and slander and things like these ( Gal. 5:21 ) are just as destructive as living a homosexual lifestyle.

There is a difference between sin the noun and sinning the verb. Set free from sin does not mean set free from sinning entirely the rest of one's life. Sin the noun has been quarantined in the flesh which is why the Holy Spirit circumcised our hearts ( where He lives and is joined as one in the spirit with us) from the body of flesh.

Romans chapter 6 and 7 uses the noun "sin" 48x times ( which speaks of the law of sin that is in our flesh ) and only once as the verb which is the action of "sinning".

Here is what Vine's describes this "law of sin" that is in the flesh - acting through the members of our body when we yield to it.

"a governing principle or power, e.g., Rom. 6:6; "(the body) of sin," here "sin" is spoken of as an organized power, acting through the members of the body, "

The set free from sin ( the noun ) is relating to not having to be subject anymore to the flesh because we have been sealed in our spirit in our inner man in Christ. - the new creation in Him.

The law of sin is in the flesh and will be there until we leave this earth. Romans 7:19-22. which is where we are not "in the flesh" as Paul says in Romans 8:9 : BUT "in the Spirit".

Colossians 2:11 (NASB)
[SUP]11 [/SUP] and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ;

Now we are to walk by the Spirit so that we will not fulfill the flesh to do "its" desires. Romans 6:13

As our minds get renewed to the truth of Christ and what He has already done for us - the Holy Spirit transforms us and we live a holier life. This is all God's work but we participate in it with Him. ( sometimes this is also called the saving of the soul which the mind is a part of )

A lot of people are under the impression that the Holy Spirit will not depart no matter how one lives, but this is false. A good example of this was shown in Saul, who after constant rebellion towards Gods commands would be given over to an evil spirit after having the Spirit of God depart from him.

Also look at these examples of believers who would lose their savour and become foolish, and also the warning of having the Spirit gone out (extinguished) in them.
Jesus said Matthew 5:13 “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour,(G3471) wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.”

When the salt loses its savour it becomes foolish. Notice the word usage in the phrase “lose savour” is also shown as “become a fool”, and to “make foolish” (G3471)

The KJV translates Strongs G3471 in the following manner: lose savour (2x), become a fool (1x), make foolish (1x).

And this is what happens when people listen to “fools” or the “foolish” doctrine of carnally minded men.

Romans 1:22 “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,(G3471)

1 Corinthians 1:20 “Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish (G3471) the wisdom of this world?

So now you know the difference between the 5 foolish virgins who had no oil,(Holy Spirit) and the 5 wise virgins who had the anointing oil of the Holy Spirit to lighten their lamps. And we also now know why Jesus said the foolish salt that had lost his savour would be cast out, and trodden under foot of men.

Jeremiah 12:10 “Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness."=unfruitful branches to be removed and cast out to be burned

Notice here the foolish virgins in Matt 25:8 and the word used "gone out"=extinguished

"And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. [SUP]G4570[/SUP]

This is the same word used G4570 as having the Spirit extinguished--->>> "Quench [SUP]G4570[/SUP] not the Spirit."

This warning of having your lamp put out is also given by Jesus here---->>>>
Revelation 2:5
Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Once that Light of the Spirit is removed, it is lights out and darkness enters in again=twice dead.

Saul was not born again and sealed with the Holy Spirit like Christians are after the work of Christ on the cross and resurrection was finished by our Lord Jesus Christ. This is why the New Covenant is build upon better promises and the blood of Jesus speaks of better things.

Either Jesus is a liar or He is speaking the truth. We all need to make a choice in whom we are going to believe.

Jesus said that the Holy Spirit would be with us "forever". Jesus said that He had to go SO THAT the Helper could come to be in us.

John 14:16-17 (NASB)

[SUP]17 [/SUP] that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.

Jesus said "I will never leave you nor forsake you" Is He really lying to us? I say no. He also says "NO one can pluck you our of My hand nor the Father's hand"....no one includes every person in the world. We are not greater then God to pluck ourselves out of His hand.


John says that the truth which is the Spirit of Truth will be with us forever.


2 John 1:1-2 (NASB)

The apostle Paul says that we are sealed with the Holy Spirit for the day of redemption after we have believed in Christ.

Can we grieve the Holy Spirit by our behavior towards others in the body of Christ? Yes! - but He is sill there with us - having been sealed by Him.

Hebrews 6 is a beautiful chapter on the grace of God.....I love that chapter...

The book of Hebrews is written to Jewish believers ( in which in the reading of this letter unbelievers would most likely hear this too as in the early stages of Christianity there were both Jewish believers and unbelievers in the meetings ).

We can all learn from the truth that is in Hebrews 6.

Heb. 6:4-8 talks about those that reject Jesus' sacrifice for sins and relying on the temple sacrifices for sins...then in verse 9 it talks about us believers that do trust in Jesus' blood being shed for our sins.

Hebrews 6:9 (NASB)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] But, beloved, we are convinced of better things concerning you, and things that accompany salvation, though we are speaking in this way.

Here the author of Hebrews is speaking to the "Beloved"..that is us Christians that have accepted Jesus as our sacrifice...and he talks about "things that accompany salvation"

He wanted them to know that the verses 4-8 was not for them..which is why he said.."..though we are speaking in this way."

He didn't want them to put themselves - the true believers in that category.

Hebrews 6 is a beautiful chapter about the love and grace of Christ for us believers...not so good for those Jews depending on the temple system.

Here is a guy explaining it out....there are many views on this scripture....we should never take obscure scriptures out of context - especially if they "seem" at first glance to contradict the abundance of very clear scriptures that say we are secure in Christ.

Jesus said - " No one can pluck them out of My or the Father's hand".

Our loving Father is not looking for ways to keep us from Him. He loves us so much that He sent us His beloved Son to take our place so that we could be with them forever.

I hope people do watch that video above because it is exactly what it is I am talking about in my OP of how supporters of this false doctrine have to try to explain away the clear words of Hebrews 6:4-8. They suggest these persons were not true converts and believers, nor were they ever saved, but the scriptures are very clear on this matter they..." were made partakers of the Holy Ghost"

When someone has to go to great lengths to dismiss, ignore, twist, misrepresent tons of scripture in order to uphold a false belief it should be a Warning to stay away from those deceivers who try to pervert the plain text. Believe what is plainly written.....

Jesus' own words destroys the false doctrine of how ongoing sin will not effect "eternal security" BELIEVE JESUS CHRIST!!!

I have heard so many lies and false doctrine being spread about how ongoing sin will not effect your eternal security in Christ. I am going to prove this idea totally false by the words of Jesus. If you truly believe in Jesus Christ, then you will also believe and continue in His words right? Well here goes….

John 8:31-36 “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;[SUP]32 [/SUP]And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.[SUP]33 [/SUP]They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?

These words of Jesus are so plain and simple a child could understand them, but sinners will still argue against this very plain and simple truth because they themselves are still committing sins and are servants of sin, and thus they will also try to justify themselves and ongoing sin.

Let’s break this down. Jesus said those who commit sin are a servant of sin, and a servant abides not in the house forever. That verse right there crushes this false notion that ongoing sin does not compromise eternal security. The truth is right there in front of your face. A SERVANT OF SIN ABIDES NOT IN THE HOUSE FOREVER!

People, believing in the Truth according to the words of God has the power to set you free from the bondage of sin. Jesus Christ is the very Word of God, which is Truth and is that Eternal Life. Believe in what Jesus said above, and not the lies and false doctrine of carnally minded men. Believe Jesus when He said you can indeed be set free from the bondage of sin and death.

I do hope that people choose to believe in Jesus' words and that He is in fact not a liar. Sometimes our religious teachings interfere with our ability to believe the words of our Lord Jesus Christ.

It's in the "application" of some obscure scriptures that need to be looked at through the very clear words and truth of our salvation in Christ.

In "security" breeds "maturity" as in does in any relationship.

Do not let someone else's unbelief steer you away from the security that is in the love and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and in His finished work for us. We can trust Him.

The truth is that when we come to Christ and are sealed with the Holy Spirit - we become sons/daughters of God. We cannot "un-born" ourselves from being a human being - in the same way we can't "un-born" ourselves from being in the family of God.

That shows the mindset in a works-based salvationists mind - it is all based on what "they do". They never lift up the work of Christ and talk about His beauty and great salvation - no, instead they bring condemnation.

We should be preaching Christ and His great salvation and promoting His love and grace for us so that we can grow up in Him. Having begun in the Spirit are we now made perfect by the self-efforts of the flesh?

Are we going to let someone else's unbelief in the work of Christ to change the faithfulness of God in His promises to us? Do not let other people rob you of the love and security that the Lord has for us. We can trust in Him. He will be faithful to us in all ways throughout eternity.

We may get messed up in our stinking thinking in our minds but the new creation - the new man in Christ created in righteousness and holiness is sealed forever in Christ.

Believe in what Christ has accomplished for us and we will reap the benefits in this earth of His salvation.

I say - let's get our minds renewed to the truth of the love and grace that our Lord Jesus and our loving Father has for us and in the magnificence of their finished work for us to bring us to them forever. They love us - they paid a dear price for us - they are NOT looking for ways to keep us away from their love and grace towards us.

Let's grow up in the grace and knowledge of out Lord Jesus Christ so that we can be a blessing to others and help them too grow up to be secure children of their loving God.

Sorry bud, your own confession of willfully sinning and also being a born again son of God who has been set free from sin does not add up, you are truly confused. You cannot be a born again son of God and also confess that you willfully sin, as you have done on numerous occasions now. Just as your above statement is contrary to sound doctrine. By the way, a lie is not the Truth.

Do we believe the lies and contradictions of carnally minded men like yourself and Joseph Prince over what the scriptures plainly say and teach about those who are born of God not sinning, and Jesus words of being truly set free from sin and sinning? And that now somehow willful sinning has no effect on being in God's presence and has no effect on eternal security despite what Jesus and the holy apostles have said, and the words of God plainly speak out against?

You have proven your own self reprobate over and over again by your own words. :)
 
We can all ask ourselves if we have in the past ever willfully sinned.

If we have...then according to some people's religion - this means there is no more sacrifice for sins. This means that they will remain in their sins forever because Christ is the only sacrifice for sins according to Hebrews 10:26.

We can easily see that this religious belief is the complete opposite of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

If anyone says they have not sinned in the past - they are lying or are greatly deceived.

The truth is - that they will at some point in the future willfully sin again. Most sin is willful even if some people refuse to acknowledge it.

We are all growing in who we are in Christ as Christ is being formed in our outward behavior to reflect what our new man in Christ already is.

We can take ourselves on a test run to see the truth of Hebrews 10:26 in action.

If you believe that the "wilful sinning" talked about in Hebrews 10 is not the sin of unbelief in Christ's sacrifice for sins but it is a moral sin that you did intentionally then....

Answer this question and it will reveal the truth about "wilful sinning".

Have you ever wilfully sinned?

Of course you have - so in your religion if the wilful sin is any other sin but unbelief in Christ - there remains no more sacrifice for sins and thus you will die with those sins still on you because Christ's sacrifice for those sins will not be for you.

Pentecostals handle rattlesnakes to demonstrate faith. If a member gets bitten they often refuse
medical help believing God will save them.
If the bitten member dies then "God" needed that soul in heaven.
So when one gets bitten one WINS heaven. If NOT bitten then "God" spared that one person.

Pentecostals handle rattlesnakes to demonstrate faith. If a member gets bitten they often refuse
medical help believing God will save them.
If the bitten member dies then "God" needed that soul in heaven.
So when one gets bitten one WINS heaven. If NOT bitten then "God" spared that one person.

Does the Bible not say "do not put the Lord God to the test"?

most of what you just posted is a result of mis-interpatation of the Word, and just plucking out verses and maybe chapters and building entire theologies around them. for example, most of the snake handlers use Mark 16 v. 17-18. these verses were not in the original text, they were put in later. so, there is a very good chance that Jesus never said that!!

I call it this- using the Bible to make theology instead of using the Bible AS theology. it does not sound like it is that much of a different thing, but it is a HUGE thing.

Ever notice Ananias & Saphira died cause they "lied to the Holy Ghost"? Nowhere did they reject Jesus.

If Timothy was not circumcised as a child then he wouldn't be listening to scriptures until he came to Christ because all good Jewish law followers did what the law of Moses said to do, especially since the temple was still standing until 70 AD. That's what things look like to me anyway.
