I'm at my new favorite place the laundromat. I'm going to have someone's come fix my washing machine this week. The belt isn't broke and we have tried different things to fix it. Anyhow I call my husband, hi there's a big frozen chicken pot pie in the freezer. If you want to bake that we can go down to your Moms later and have dinner with her there. Me: the instructions are on the back of the box. Him: how long do I bake it for? Me, an hour maybe read the BACK of the box. Him: what do I set the oven for? Me: I think 350, just read the box. Him: Okay I'll just read the box. Me: smashes head on table at laundromat.

It sounds like he could have been described in a country western song of about 20 years ago: "Here's your sign".

Listening to my kids play, is one of the most entertaining things ever! The things my daughter imagines, are really funny. Today, she had one of her My Little Pony toys, step on a mouse.

I am on the opposite end of the spectrum. When it comes to women, I have no backbone whatsoever. I also have the neurosis of trying to please women which I realize has it's roots clear back with trying to find acceptance from my Mother and never getting it.

I managed to twice find relationships that were as messed up and dysfunctional as the one my parents had, and I think that is a major reason I ended up marrying both those women even though I was not in love with them nor even attracted to them - they fulfilled the role of the domineering and nagging *you know what*, and I guess that's what I was looking for because it was familiar.
Ooooh man. You're my oldest son's age and that just rips at my heart to think you suffered like that. I'm really sorry you got dealt that hand, YIG. I came out of horrible dysfunction as well. Isn't it strange how we tend to go back into what's familiar even though it was disastrous and barren? *sigh*

My therapists really helped me cope and learn new belief patterns throughout the years. I'm still learning and I hope I always do. One counselor said to me, "Everyone has a diagnosis because everyone has wounds." So at least we know we're not alone, ya know?

Recognizing bad patterns is the first step. So from now on, anytime a neurotic women gravitates toward you, RUN THE OTHER WAY!

Fo sho stay away from this kind of krazee:

Was just called a stupid child by a CC member on chat who seemed to be a huge Trump supporter when I said I had no idea about the US national debt.

When informed, I was not American, his response was "Well let's see if you can hide and watch! Arrogant 20 year old."

It made me laugh but honestly, it spoilt my whole idea of going on chat to take a break. There was a moderator on there and when I pointed out this person doing something like that, there was no real action on their side.

Kind of disappointed that CC has this flip flop policies on such going ons in chat.

No matter who the member is, it's just not conducive to Christian fellowship and I wish CC was stricter in dealing with people like that - both on forums and chat.

I am American and honestly don't know much about the economy. I know it's not Great but instead of worrying about it I let God deal with that. That person was wrong to say that to you and the moderator should have said something to him. If you'd like to message me his name I have no problem asking him not to be so rude.

Sorry you had to deal with that sort of thing, Rachel. This is why I try to never discuss politics, especially in a live chat room lol. Especially during this particular election. It's all out war this time. People have gone crazy.

There is an article going around about a recent study that says 7% of voters have actually ended friendships over this election. Seven Percent! That means one in every 14 people you know!

Agreed! The thing is, there are so many critical folks who gripe about anything and report people for any dumb thing. That makes a lot of unnecessary work for the mods who gotta verify all their complaints.

The best solution I can think of is placing the person on ignore so you don't have to see their responses. You can also copy & paste their abuse and forward it to the admins.

I would like to add that the "moderator" was not really a moderator but a chat host, so it wasn't their fault for not being able to take action on this.

It is sad that people are not kinder and more considerate. It seems that some forums on CC are more "Christian" than others.

Someone unfriended me on Facebook because he posted, If you're voting for Trump you should unfriend me now because I don't want to be associated with someone like that. So being the it's a democracy activist that I am I said, I'm not voting for Trump, however I think maybe I shouldn't associate with those who think this country is like North Korea, vote my way or suffer, type attitude. So he unfriended me. Bye Felicia or in his case, bye little dictator.

I actually want to write a post or a thread or something about the level of insensitivity in american society these days. Its off the charts. Maybe I will, maybe I won't... I will know when I'm less busy I guess lol. Or someone else could do it... :)

Facebook can become a war zone during elections. I try to avoid political arguments on social media. One thing that really annoys me is when supporters for either party just assume that you are a total idiot if you support the other party. I think you handled your friend well

I am too afraid to wander into the news forum, haha. I will say though that overall, I've found CC to be less hostile than other forums. I've only been a member here for a very short while, but from the threads I've read and posted in, most members seem pretty civil

So if it wasn't a real moderator but someone who had no authority to do anything, then what is the purpose of complaining about them? Perhaps they will pass the incident along to someone who has the capacity to act and something will be done about it then?
And the site has made it clear they will allow such things to continue. Because to prohibit and act on it would be to remove a large number of active users, thereby shrinking the size and activity of the site. The 'site' (not the users but the site itself) gains more from allowing such things because the people that quit because of it are a smaller loss than the ones that act that way and keep the site active. It's like they say, ministry is a business.

I had no idea this person was not a real moderator. They were available on the chat listing under the moderator heading. After I had posted, this person contacted me to clarify why no action was taken.

I was just mentioning an incident that took place on this site to incite a discussion on such behaviors and what actions can be taken as well as to air my own thoughts and concerns on it.

Since you are questioning my motives for posting them, I will add I have nothing against CC (and for that matter this individual. I frankly don't care)

In fact, your explanation for lack of action actually puts CC in a bad light. From my past experience on this site, I have known many of the admins to have taken action against users who do behave in an inappropriate, rude and surly manner.
