Rom 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
Rom 14:6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

I suppose that wanting to observe a Jewish holiday, would do no harm,if done in a nostalgia type of way,but it would not have any bearing on our salvation.

Friend, you make the same mistake as millions of Christians when you call GOD'd Holy Days jewish AND equal them to holidays ! can't you see that what you say and believe is ERROR according to scripture ?
They are most certainly GOD's OWN holy days and GOD's OWN holy time Lev 23 which we are to respect ! We no longer keep them as in the OT but are now observed as a MEMORIAL/REMEMBRANCE of God's great plan for mankind, helping us in our spiritual understanding. That is how I keep them and there is 'no mention of going back into OT laws nor siding with the Jews in their mistaken beliefs !

Romans 14...

Rom 14:1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
The first thing we see here is that this chapter is about relating to a weak brother.

Rom 14:2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.

The subject here? Vegetarianism

Rom 14:3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth
not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.

So, if you encounter one who is weak in the faith and believes he must eat vegetables only,
don’t let this puff you up…

2Co 10:12 For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some
that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing
themselves among themselves, are not wise.

What is the gold standard here?

1Pe 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us,
leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God,
unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Rom 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth
or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

Now to the meat and potatoes…

Rom 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike.
Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
Rom 14:6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day,
to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks;
and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

Why is eating and fasting (not eating) connected to days here? Let’s see…

Luk 18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee,
that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
Luk 18:12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

From Bullingers Companion Bible…

Luke 18:12

twice in the week. The law prescribed only one in the year (Lev_16:29. Num_29:7).
By the time of Zec_8:19 there were four yearly fasts.
In our Lord's day they were bi-weekly (Monday and Thursday), between Passover and Pentecost;
and between the Feast of Tabernacles and the Dedication.

Yes they fasted two days a week, Monday and Thursday, EVERY MONDAY and EVERY THURSDAY.

Rom 14:7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
Rom 14:8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord:
whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
Rom 14:9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both
of the dead and living.
Rom 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother?
for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
Rom 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,
and every tongue shall confess to God.
Rom 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
Rom 14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather,
that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
Rom 14:14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself:
but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
Rom 14:15 But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably.
Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.

Now Paul shifts his attention to meat offered to idols. At the time, meat and drink were offered
to pagan idols. After it was offered it was sold in a meat market called the ‘Shambles’.

1Co 10:25 Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:

There were those who were weak in the faith (verse 1) who were offended by this.
They somehow thought that eating that food was somehow connecting them with the
idolatrous practices around them. This is why the following is written…

Rom 14:16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of:
Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness,
and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Drinking, can be alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages. Paul was dealing with ascetism
and the belief that doing without was somehow a show of character.
He dealt with this issue at Colossae also…

Col 2:21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
Col 2:22 Which all are to perish with the using after the commandments and doctrines of men?
Col 2:23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility,

Rom 14:18 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
Rom 14:19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace,
and things wherewith one may edify another.
Rom 14:20 For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure;
but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.

Again, we are dealing with food.

Rom 14:21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby
thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.

So, it is not dealing with clean and unclean, but with flesh (meat) and wine (drink)
that makes a weak brother stumble.

Rom 14:22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God.
Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
Rom 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith:
for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

There is no passage in Rom 14 that deals with the Sabbath or clean and unclean meats.
The subjects are vegetarianism, fasting and food and drink offered to idols.

Sorry but this theory just doesn't go along with scripture no matter how much you want it to be something else.

We were born once in our flesh and we were born with the Holy Spirit once too...hence the scriptural usage of the term "born-again"...see my posts which prove this out in the Greek words.

The greek word for born again just puts the "ana" ( which means "again" ) in front of "gennao" which is the Greek word for being born - as in being born a baby or being born of the Holy Spirit.

But people can believe whatever they want. We can believe that Daffy Duck and Donald Duck are the 2 witnesses in the book of Revelation too if we want.

'Being born again is 'present tense - ONgoing from the time of 'begettal until born into the kgd of God by the resurrection from the dead Rom 1v4 !

It does not mean we 'have been born again' past tense. We are now only 'begotten but already (potential) children of God....IF we endure to the end !
We are still 'flesh and blood, we still sin, we are not perfect yet...hence not in the kingdom of God. However....we have been translated into the kgd of His Dear Son Col 1v13, who cleanses and perfects us ready to be 'delivered unto God the Father, fit for the Kgd. We can't rush this !!!
(as a mother I know-lol)

Romans 1:4 has nothing to do with being born again.

Romans 1:4 (NASB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord,

I am still born even though I am growing into being a man. Growing doesn't negate the fact that I was born. I am still born by the Holy Spirit even though I have not received the fullness of my inheritance in Christ.

I'm sorry but you need to go look at the Greek. It is definitely the perfect tense which means it is an event that happened in the past and the effects of that are still in the present.

Here is a link below in blue - that shows without a shadow of a doubt that "being born again" in 1 Peter 1:23 is in the perfect tense which means that we are already born by the Spirit of God.

1 Peter 1:23 Interlinear: being begotten again, not out of seed corruptible, but incorruptible, through a word of God -- living and remaining -- to the age;

And of course we are in the kingdom of God now. The kingdom of God is within us. Luke 17:21 Romans 14:17

i'm pointing this out because we need to be honest, and not make a mockery of the scripture.

you want to honor these practices of the old covenant, because you love God and want to remember Him? that's wonderful! do it for the Lord. that is good, and right - and totally not required of you.

but do not go around talking as if you are '
Torah observant' because you are not. without the temple, it is impossible that these things are being kept as they should be, and the calendar the Jews keep today is not the calendar as it was kept in the days of the temple.

Point of interest, when God gave the instruction for the Feast, He never gave a particular place to celebrate it.

Update on our gathering for the Feast....

We were planning on doing a mikvek (baptism) in the River Sunday night, but there was rain and lightning. Instead, I brought a large cattle trough that we used instead. Then we enjoyed a time of fellowship and blowing of the shofars (ram's horns.

A great day!

actually it should be beginning right around now, Jerusalem time.
since tonight, for them, is the appearing of the new moon.
:p

We saw the New Moon in Colorado Sunday evening. Conveniently at the time we were meeting!

in the place He shall choose.

If you study Ezekiel, you will find that the Spirit of God left the temple (and Jerusalem).

A little study of Acts chapter 2 might be in order as well.

Hope this helps.

Excellent.

Those that insist the Feast must be done in Jerusalem (even though God never said that,) tend to be more Pharisetical than the Pharisees they come against.

Why do I have to wait till Yom Kippur? if I spelled it right.

No one has to wait for only specific days to worship God on; It can and should be done everyday. But God said there are several days that are set apart and important to Him to come together with the Body.

I love my wife and express that to her every day of the year. But there is definitely something special about our anniversary.

Isn't the first day of the month declared after the moon is sighted after the new moon?

Yes, that is correct.

There are some differing opinions on when the New Moon actually is. Some people say its when the Moon is completely gone and invisible. Others say it's when you see the very 1st sliver of it.

Romans 1:4 has nothing to do with being born again.

Rom 1v4 has everything to do with being 'born again in the resurrection from the dead...truly born again with power to do things we have never been able to do before AND have a new body as well.
IF you were in the kgd of God now you would already be PERFECT...for God can not live with sin/sinners.
NOW we are 'begotten of God in the Kgd of His Dear Son (in Christ) being 'cleansed and washed from sin and error by His Blood ! That is HIS work and not the Fathers who has given Jesus all authority in heaven and in earth to accomplish this - after which time Jesus will again hand over to His Father and become subject to Him 1 Cor 15v25-28.
No Sir ! we are not in the Kgd of God now until we have been cleansed and corrected , which has to happen 'here and now so we become mature and holy to enter the Kgd of God ! Just another reminder - being born does not mean already born - please consider !

Point of interest, when God gave the instruction for the Feast, He never gave a particular place to celebrate it.

And that would just about be right....
for it points to the future we are in now when what JESUS says applies ! Joh 4v21-24.

If the blood of Jesus has not cleansed you - when you die - you will stand before the Lord with your sin still on you. Christians are cleansed by the blood of Jesus.

If you are not in the kingdom of God now - you are not a Christian. The kingdom of God is within you.

I'm not sure where you are getting all this crazy stuff from but you are leaving out the work of Christ so I can only assume you are in a Hebrew Roots side shoot that really doesn't know about the work of Christ yet.

Ephesians 5:26-27 (NASB)
[SUP]26 [/SUP] so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,

[SUP]27 [/SUP] that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.

Hebrews 10:2 (NASB)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have had consciousness of sins?

1 John 1:7 (NASB)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

1 Corinthians 6:11 (NASB)
[SUP]11 [/SUP] Such were some of you;
but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

there are two opposing point of view here that will never be settled this side of the Saviors return... IMO do what seems right in your own eyes, and each will give answer for their own choices, you know its one thing when people sincerely want to know why and what I believe to but just mock, or say my faith is invalid because it goes against something many have been taught, really isn't showing the love all Christians profess, judge for yourselves.

Today I was really saddened. A believer implied that to believe one can walk in righteousness
and purity is a false hope.

I had hoped simple scripture, honest words and integrity would be enough to win someone over
to the Lord. But they are liars and not what they appear to be, because they deny the very words
of scripture and Jesus. Yes they have their excuses and contexts, but if Jesus does not purify us
and our walk is not righteous what are we?

For me it is like many years ago going to a pentecostal church were everyone was praising God so
loudly, it was quite impressive. But when I talked about open air evangelism and talking to people
in the streets about Christ, they had great fear and all this praise was empty.

These are adults playing at following Christ, who want an easy path to heaven, and are not broken
sinners in need of a saviour, but worldly imposters wanting an excuse to con their way into heaven.

All they see in us is reflections of their flawed unwashed and impure souls, and so call us liars and
hypocrites but without any cause other than to say walking in righteousness and purity is impossible
with Christ. These self defeated believers are a testimony to the failure of their faith and their walk.

And their claim is to stand for Jesus and defame anyone walking in faith and believing Christs words
of victory. Quite ironic, but you know who the enemy of the Kingdom really are.

If the blood of Jesus has not cleansed you - when you die - you will stand before the Lord with your sin still on you. Christians are cleansed by the blood of Jesus.

Friend, you seemed not to have read my post....please do so again. I said the very same thing you did, we are washed and cleansed by Jesus' Blood !
We are in the Kgd of God's Dear Son Jesus Christ, and if that does not make you a Christian you won't be one ! What we have to do is 'BE IN CHRIST' and let HIM carry us wherever HE goes !...not the other way round. Do you know why ?
Because our 'desparately deceitful heart Jer 17 will carry Him (Jesus) wherever YOU want to go and the 'carnal man won't even be aware it leads to destruction.
The reason people are deceived is basically because of DISOBEDIENCE to God's Word. Jesus makes obedience possible once He 'penetrates your hard heart...but you have to offer yourself a 'living sacrifice. And I'll say it again - it is all only possible by what JESUS has done for us !!!
But don't be misled into thinking that this is all there is, there is more to it than having been given a 'new start. It will not be revealed to you until you become obedient and submissive to the Word/Jesus Christ our Teacher come from God !
