Thanks, If I could add to that.
I believe it’s one of those new traditions of men called being “slain in the spirit”, it as sign which meaning the “death of a spirit”. This would indicate they were under the judgment of Christ.
Like other metaphors God uses as signs to indicate men are under the judgment of God. Another, the earth opened her mouth and swallowed, or a pillar of salt using salt to indicate under the judgement of God , or bringing fire from heaven, another falling head long , or one more example as a metaphor to fall as in backward in not getting up.
While in another way that blesses rather than a curse using the word fell , in respect to falling on ones face, as an expression of humbling one’s self under the authority of God. It would represent worshiping God.
Falling backward I believe is a way that God declares whoever it is are under judgement, as the wrath of God revealed from heaven .It in effect speaks of faithless and perverse generation .The generation of Adam
It is used twice to indicate God's judgment in setting up the number twelve as a sign, the number he assigns to His bride the church. Used of the apostle Judas in the new testament, as well as in the same way with the tribe of Dan in the old.
I will offer a few that I think build on the judgement doctrine of God.
Act 1:25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
Joh 18:6 As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
Gen 49:17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.
I Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.sa 1:4
And the sons of Eliab; Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. This is that Dathan and Abiram, which were famous in the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against the LORD:And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died, what time the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men: and they became a sign Num 26:9
2Ki 1:10 And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.
The last example when the apostles struggled to understand the parable spoken to them and continued to walk after the manner of the flesh with their hatred for the gentiles as a false zeal..
Luk 9:54 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?
