Hmmm, isn't there this verse that says we are to bless and not curse?

You worry about disneyland.... wha about school shootings? Drug abuse? Incest?
Surely there are other things you could be praying about ending
Now you know full well if i tried cataloguing every evil you would accuse me of being on a tirade. knowwhatimean?

We need to call this the 'damned if you do and damned if you don't' forum. Well fitting, wouldn't you say.

The disney deal is more dangerous than most because it claims to be 'family fun'. That's seems to be the point most are missing here. And so, since i'm back to trying to reason with zombies again i'll say no more.

You weren't talking about death camps, you were talking about an amusement park :)
Google Disney depravity or similar wording. Spiritual death camps for our kids .

You compare racism, genocide, torture and murder to Disney?

What's wrong with Disney? A big ole capitalist company running a whole bunch of industries making an awful lot of money?:p No, seriously, I love Disney's cartoon characters, and you'll really need to pinpoint the evil in them before I'm buying anything of what you are saying about this, yet.

Would it be wrong to pray God destroy Disneyland? No lives hurt but get rid of this depraved icon maskerading as family entertainment.
26 In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; 27 and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the [j]saints according to the will of God.

imo, the important thing to pray is what you honestly feel... the Spirit will put it in "God terms".

Ok, ok..all good answers. Here's the deal. I'm stuck going with family members. It's the 'out numbered' thing.
if it's something you feel strongly about, then imo it's important to take a stand.

could not the money spent on your ticket have been given to the poor?

I stayed home from my high school graduation because I felt it was idolatrous. Not bragging there, just saying you won't be alone if you stand up for something your family doesn't see any problem with.

Look, if disney was a giant christian amusement park it would have either gone out of business years ago or still be about the size it was when it started.... The reason disney is so successful is because it provides family-friendly entertainment to people of all backgrounds and religions. Are we hating it because it's so successful or because of some twisted conspiracy theory that says its the spawn of satan?

As you know, I rarely agree with Yet on anything. But having watched the time and the money my grandkids spend on Disney movies, clothes, toys, Hallowe'en costumes and the continually shifting market emphasis on different characters and movies, to have parents constantly shelling out money, I do think Yet is onto something.

I grew up with Walt Disney. If you ever watch any of his shows or movies before Walt died in 1966, they were wholesome and honest. They would even present tragic situations, where sometimes no one won. (I'm thinking of Bambi's mom dying in the forest fire!)

I went Disneyland twice as a kid, and loved it. Again, that was before Walt died and his son took over. Yes, there is a lot of bad and evil in the world, including terrorism, war and murder. But I think Satan is more subtle in North America - seducing children in to a life long consumerism that does not include God, and is never satisfied.

I just wish there was some way I could warn my children about the damage being done. But hey, if Yet can't convince his family not to go, what chance do I have?

(Walks away wondering if Yet will return as a Disney zombie)

i don't like it because it's overpriced, crowded, hot--like almost no shade, and nowhere to sit down and feed the baby.

i expect kids to act crazy there, that was fine. it's just a me thing. i'm more of a picnic in a quiet, secluded mountain grove kinda gal. oh, wait, that's where i live! lol

nothin' personal, Walt.

right, that's Florida, not Cali. for all i know Cali's theme park is free, roomy, shady (or air conditioned!) and loaded with La-Z-Boy's. ;)

I'll tell y'all whats wrong with Disney. It's the cartoons. Generations ago these horrible attempts at entertainment were produced that assigned human characteristics to animals. Now we are left with vegans and people who freek out because of a dead feral cat.

A person could preach against going to Disneyland,I don't know anything about It,but what needs to be preached Is faith,

I mean the understanding of John 3:16,because If the person Is not saved, then them going to Disneyland or not going to Disneyland would not matter, they wouldn't make It In anyway.

First seek the kingdom of Righteousness, and we are GOD's workmanship created In CHRIST JESUS unto good works that was before ordained that we should walk In them,

Meaning, the person that has been reborn of the Spirit of GOD may go to Disneyland not caring more about how the outward man appears In a religious way but going there with a clean heart to help someone know JESUS.
