I not only saw several meteors shooting across the clear dark sky last night, but the deer were wandering about the streets in small herds like doggies. It's actually not unusual in my town for the deer to parade about like that. Cute fawns frolic around like Bambi almost every night while bucks & does chew the grass on everyone's lawns.

So I enjoyed an amazingly beautiful night. :)

wow...sounds dreamlike and so beautiful!

we get coyotes here...I'm talking in the yard

a couple of weeks ago, I heard a ruckus in the woods across the roads...some animal screaming and my huskies were going nuts

so I went across the road and yelled out 'HEY!' the noise stopped...the bushes stopped moving...I saw movement to my right..turned my head, and there was a beautiful coyote...yellow eyes and all...he stared at me and I stared at him for about 5 seconds

he turned and went back into the woods without a sound

I think I interrupted a 'wedding' LOL!

we get dog/coyote crosses here and what scientists are calling the coywolf...but this was a coyote...just medium sized and a really pretty one

The clouds seem to know when meteor showers appear, and always make sure to cover them :p

Earth passes through the Halley (pronounced: HAW'-ley) Comet debris every autumn and the meteor shower is active between October 2 thru November 7. It's peak was the wee hours of this morning but you can still see meteors during the next week or two. :)

That beautiful coyote encounter sounds amazing! I'm surprised he didn't act aggressive towards you.

ROFL @ coyote 'wedding'. ;)

I have never seen the milky way except for pictures. The east coast has too much light pollution, even in rural area like where I am.

you know, when I was down in FL, we had a couple of acres and in a country setting...we could see it there sometimes too

here of course, we don't even have street lights, so viewing is great!

the most memorable night sky I have ever seen though, was some years back...my ex SIL and I decided to go up to our cottage in the mountains and it was already dark when we left...when we got out of the car and looked up at the sky we just sucked our breath in!

she was brought up in that area, but even she had never seen anything like it!

I love the night skies

Ok, my fellow space enthusiasts. Halley's Comet has not been visible from Earth since 1986, but pieces of glowing space rock can still be seen every autumn when the Earth intersects with the comet’s orbit.
No telescope is needed. :D

When is the Orionids Meteor Shower and how can I see shooting stars from Halley's Comet?
That was cool! I was blessed to see Halley's comet in 1986 when my son was 4 years old. I woke him up in the middle of the night to bring him out to the back deck to see it. He doesn't remember now he says.....Men....we are all the same...lol

Coyotes were common when I lived in Calgary, Alberta. The city said that there were about 400 of them living in the city. They ate the jack rabbits. These "rabbits" must have been from Texas - because they were huge and very fast.

I was 7 and my parents couldn't be bothered with taking me out to see it.

my dad was the only one interested in things like that...he taught me so much and we shared a big love of nature

my husband is really into celestial events and stuff...so that's fun to have in common

I don't get people who seem to take no notice of anything but their backyard...and that's no reflection on you Tommy...obviously you have some interest...here you are!

I guess I'm trying to say so many things speak of the reality of a Creator...

anyway I'm blabbing........

Our school teacher sent home a note to remind our parents. I might live long enough to see it.

So beautiful. I always wished I could travel through the galaxy like captain kirk. I guess thats why I would be receptive to meeting a two headed green skinned lady.
