Ricky doesn't need to worry about getting attention... he's married... and I bet his wife would throw some water on him or something if he was on fire... unless she found him hanging out @ a boarding house... maybe she might set him on fire!!!

... But then he would DESERVE IT!

Molly may in fact be the sweetest, most Christlike individual on CC, and everyone sees that. If anyone was being disrespectful or cruel to her, that person would have endured the wrath of many watchful eyes and caring hearts. So though I personally disagree with your take that she was mistreated, especially by someone with Tourist's integrity, I applaud you and honor you for looking out for her.

Now as far as your last sentence, I grew up once. I didn't like it. :p
Oh my! I had no idea all this arguing was going on. I'm sorry about it.

Nw2u, I really appreciate you looking out for me. Bless you, brother. I think Tourist is a kind man and he didn't mean it to be taken offensively. Like he said, it's a pun on the thread title :) I can understand why you would think that it was rude, but that's the atmosphere here. We all joke and use a lot of sarcasm. But I really appreciate your concerns, that means a lot. :)

Thank you Tourist and Utah for saying those kind words about me. I appreciate them very much and I'm shocked that you all think that of me!

Blessings!

And shout out to BlueLadybug and Lynx for trying to clear up the air. Nw2u, they were just trying to get you to understand the pun joke. :)

How's this... How about asking Molly what she thought of this?
That's funny b/c no one ever mentioned it. I just found out on my own right now.

Majority of women, even a number of believers prefer bad guys. That is the truth. Sorry to say, if they prefer bad guys over good guys, that is also God's way of protecting good/ nice guys from them. To the nice guys out there, just follow hard after God. You'll be OK.

The usual reason has to do with boredom.

Why would anyone want to do this?
Because if he started a new thread on the subject he'd be told 'there are already threads dealing with this we don't need a new one'.

Yeah, there seems to be a lot of that type of criticism going on here.

Yeah, start a new one and you're told to resurrect an old one, resurrect an old one and you're told to start a new one. The CC catch-22!

It's not just a pathological resistance of members replying to older threads,'why are you replying to this old thread, it pushes the new one's back' it's the resistance regarding revisiting a subject matter. 'this topic has already been discussed, don't start a new thread, go search for it'. It's as though they believe the site caters to them exclusively and they make all the rules.

All of these overly thought out guesses as to why necrothreading is so annoying. Most of which seem to insult older users. A bunch of bunk.
Old threads coming back often consist of responding to people who are no longer members of the site. So they are pointless responses.
Also many threads are on topics that are beating dead horses.

Notice neither of those reasons have to do with thinking less of newer users or with anyone thinking they need to be catered to.

Some people love the victim role though, as is evidenced by some of these reasons.

Victim? No.. I could care less

if they are open then anyone should be able to post regardless if the op is here or not.
Everyone has something to add.
And should have the same opportunity as the rest.

Yeah, what this guy said. =^.^=

The date at which torus joined, the number and frequency of the posts and the content of said posts all point to a generally nice guy who has a very slow weekend and is looking through the forum threads, making comments whenever he finds a thread he wants to comment on. The indications permit roughly 84% certainty that torus is a really bored guy.

Either way, try talking TO him rather than ABOUT him.

Howdy torus. Welcome to the forum. Posting in old threads is not encouraged, and bringing up a lot of really old threads in a short amount of time can be a bit annoying, but there's no rule against it. General rule of thumb is, if the last post in the thread is older than two weeks or so you might think about whether you really need to make a post in it. Ignore all the cross-chatter. This talk about zombie threads versus unnecessary new threads is an argument that started long before you joined.

I do agree with that. We all have had different lives and experience, and fit into the body for different reasons. Pulling forward is always detested by someone. Many posters are still here even if the op isn't. To object is to assume you know best and hinders the movement of everything..

God can't use someone in Boredom to set someone free??
God moves and a lot of people seem to overlook that.. it's a Christian site why does anyone tell anyone not to comment if it's advice?
If they don't want it that's on them but it super bold to get in the way of another.

It's not mean to insult anyone, new or older members alike. It's intended to say they should all have an equal platform irrespective of join date.

Old threads coming back often consist of responding to people who are no longer members of the site. So they are pointless responses.
Except cc forums are available to members and non members alike, so when prayers requests or worthwhile topics are raised with thoughtful responses, regardless of whether the op is still a member or not, the discussion and answers still have the potential to reach many other people, including the op who could still be reading, for Christ. None of this is pointless.

Also many threads are on topics that are beating dead horses.

That's the rhetoric that was listed as an example "don't bring this up we've already raised it" many people have diverse opinions and experiences to add to topics that perhaps the confines of one thread didn't give too much of a platform to, so they initiated a new one to share their studies on the matter.

Some people love the victim role though, as is evidenced by some of these reasons.

It does get really old seeing the same group be pained about any excellent post with a great thread, irrespective of dates.

Brilliantly said.
