you know, whatever miss charlotte

I think you are making a big deal because it is a big deal to you personally...so that is your world...not the world of everyone else

when I was kid...halloween was not the big thing it is today

everybody went out...Christian or not

now everyone questions everything...it's all the devil, it's all wrong and everything is pagan

motives should not be judged however, and I think that is all too often a line that gets crossed in some of these discussions

and that just keeps the anger going...that is why I have said maybe just stop your nitpicking

whatever...I guess we can just ignore it

it is just silly...how many have been convinced to do other than what they had already planned to do?
That is true, when I went out trick or treat,I did not think it was of the devil, for my whole life I never gave one inkling to even think about the devil, and never give him place, whether I thought he was real or not,for my attitude was screw the devil, pardon my expression, and always yea God,even before I knew him,my whole life, for I always liked to be a decent person.

Not everybody looks at Halloween in the same aspect as other people, and the truth is 99.99 percent,or even better than that, they do not look at Halloween in that concept, but children having a good time,to dress up,and get some candy, nothing more and nothing less, and they are not even thinking of any pagan roots associated with it,but children having a good time.

Which it does not mean that Halloween is good for the general concept of what people thinks it mean, but the vast, vast, vast, majority, and I mean the vast majority,do not look at it that way,but children having fun on a night that is special to them.

And that is the thing,Halloween,Christmas,Easter, they have to blend the occult, with Christianity, which Halloween is the eve of All Saints Day,but not everybody observes it according to the occult way, even people that do not believe in Christianity, but we ignore the occult way,and what I think about is the children, that it makes me sad that they cannot participate and have fun,as children like to do,for they say we cannot participate in it,but the children that are young do not understand, and what do we do about that.

This is something that is hard for me personally, for I do not like the way the nature worshippers look at it,but I think about the children wanting to have a good time, that obviously do not look at it from a pagan view, and their parents, but like to dress up and have fun,and it makes them feel special as they can have their own individual identity to be the character they want, like being in a school play, and people dish out candy to them.

To me I say we should forget Halloween, but in the eyes of children,it is hard to deny them something that they view as special and fun,and why can't they have fun like all children, like on Christmas, forget Santa, but why can't the children have fun,and like on Easter, forget the easter bunny, but why can't the children have fun.

I suppose we should teach them the true meaning of life, and let them have fun along with all the other children, but in the right aspect of reality, and say dear children we look at it from a different point of view, mostly of Easter and Christmas, and let the children have their fun.

Which that is a hard thing of parents that believe in Christ, that how do you deal with the children, when other children participate in those things, and you love your children so much, and want them to be happy, that you cannot bring yourself around to deny them that joy, even if you think it is wrong to observe it,which I am talking about Easter and Christmas, for surely Christian parents would not want to identify with Halloween is of the devil, but they might say Santa, and Easter bunny, and that is because they love their children, and want them to be happy.

And the love of the children, and their happiness,is what may cause parents that believe in Christ,to put forth things that are not true, and not compatible with Christianity, for the children's sake.

I think it's all in the spirit (no pun intended) of how you celebrate it. Whether you have a church party, or dress up and trick or treat. Or whether you give in to the pagan side of it and do satanic blood sacrifices.. There is nothing wrong with going trick or treating, or dressing up or going to a church party.

I wish it was that easy. Try going to a church where they ram it to your head from an early age that I should never for any circumstance take part in it. I would love to be as open minded as you but at this point I always played it safe.

1 Peter 5:8, 2 Thessalonians 3:6 and Romans 12:1-21
are a great place to start. Different people are on different places on their journey with Christ. Get as much information as you can from this thread, from books and sermons (there's a great one I linked earlier) and delve into prayer with the Lord. I know He'll point you in the right direction. God bless.

If you feel you shouldn't, then don't. :) It's up to each of us how we glorify God on these pagan holidays..

It's not a big deal. Because Jesus said "It is finished". This pagan holidays are not a big deal. Don't be so concerned about pleasing the people in your church.

haha I cant believe how this escalated. Laura I think you reached everyone hahahaha.
You can lead a horse to the water but you cant make it drink.
You, I and others have told everyone what everything is about and I think we can slowly but surely drop it. I dont want to have upset brothers and sisters here who start to feel offended by wordings, or just simply riding on the anti halloween train too much. Its on people to decide what they gonna do. I will keep on sending hugs to everyone if they celebrate or not.
So with that being said God bless you all and I will need some coffee as its 4:25am here ((huuuugs)

I live in a college town so most of the people in my neighborhood are very young and not financially well off. They genuinely appreciated the treats for their kids and were so grateful for the homemade bread I gave out today.

Well my dear young brother, God says ask for wisdom and he will give it. He's faithful and will do it, right?

Also, remember when Jesus walked the earth he was a friend to everyone, even sinners. That didn't mean the Lord participated in sinful behavior like getting drunk, carousing, cursing and carrying on. But the Lord didn't go around condemning people for doing foolish things either. He made himself available as a servant and friend to everyone.

Nowhere in the Bible do you read Jesus walking around boasting about how good he was and shaming people for not being like him. Nowhere do you read Jesus humiliating people for their weaknesses. But the Pharisees sure did! They were always trying to make themselves look perfect and everyone else as missing the mark.

Jesus humbly ate meals with sinners, attended celebrations with sinners, provided fish and bread for thousands of sinners, and even healed every single person who came to him for healing whether they were a follower of Christ or not. Jesus was never a respecter of persons. He was humble and became a servant to others, even washing their feet. It was his genuine love for others that made them want to follow him.

Just remember this brother, in whatever situation you are in, God can work through you and reach others just by you trusting him like a Father and treating others with his love. The Lord knows your heart toward him and will never let you fall. He is the Great Shepherd and will always lead the way for you. You can rest in that for sure, dear. :)

People here can tell you their beliefs and experiences, but as for what's right or wrong that's between you and God. I pray that He gifts you with discernment, that you may know His will for you on this.
