If you were captured by terrorist and they threw you a NASB version of the Bible and it is the only Bible you had for the rest of your life, would you read it and use it, or reject it?
I don't know for sure but most likely I would reject it. I hope that never happens. :)

WOW!?!?....Then your actions would be very foolish, ignorant, stupid and intolerant.....

You do know the phrase whose goings forth in the Greek means origin, place of going out from... right?

Are you guys just to stubborn or proud to look up things....

I don't know anything about Greek, but are you saying that the Greek says Jesus had an origin?

Did Jesus have an origin as the NIV says?

Micah 5:2New International Version (NIV)

[FONT=&][FONT=&]2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
though you are small among the clans[a] of Judah,
out of you will come for me
one who will be ruler over Israel,
whose origins are from of old,
from ancient times.”[/FONT]

I dont know what is in Hebrew, in Greek there is "his hexodoi', which means something like 'travels out of'... or 'goings out of'.

Again, I am not sure how this should be translated to English. So I can not say it this is error or not, to translate it as "origins".

Would you agree that in English the NIV says Jesus had an origin?

Origins, not origin. Not sure what difference this makes in English.

Yes, NIV has "origins", ISV has "existence", some translations have more literal "goings", but I am not sure what they mean by that. NIV (again) tried to interpret the meaning instead of word for word translate.

I cannot say if their interpretation is right there. What do you think that KJV´ "goings forth" means? It seems to me that KJV translated the original word and NIV intepreted what it means.

Again, I would not call this "lie". Different way of translation.

Real lie would look like "his goings are not from old", real error would look like "five" instead of "four" etc. Simply, more factual than such things.

I think goings forth means exactly that, going forth and being seen by the world. It's talking about the pre-incarnate Christ. Christ was in the world before as "the captain of the host" in Joshua and in other places.

Such interpretation is certainly possible. I cannot say if it is right or wrong, it can be probably:
a) taken literally as goings forth
b) intepreted as meaning "existence" or "origins"

I am not qualified to say b) is impossible, so I do not know, if it is error or just different (and possible) view.

I should have said Hebrew not greek....I apologize...the one thing that its glaringly alarming about you KJO guys is you won't look at the Greek or Hebrew and that would probably enlighten your knowledge and understanding a bit.

I know that Peter Ruckman loved to keep his KJO followers literally stupid and ignorant of the Hebrew and Greek....so they would not expose what a sham and deception KJO doctrine really is....I know other KJO leaders who do the same thing......

The first sign of satanic deception is a closed mind about anything that does not fit your personal doctrine about God......and a doctrine that will set you up in isolation....KJO folks are definitely islands unto themselves...and builds a stronghold of pride that I am right and everyone else is wrong....and no offense man, its is that kind of pride and arrogance that is really something the Devil feeds off of...

Ok lets play....In John 8 Jesus said he was the light of the world....In Gen 1 God said let there be light and there was light....and God saw the light that it was good....

think about that and chew on it.....

Micah 5 is a prophecy of Jesus being born in Bethlehem and it goes on to explain that this has not happened yet (the incarnation) but Jesus has already been going forth into the world as the pre-incarnate Christ and has existed from eternity past.

Well we agree on one thing, Ruckman is a heretic. I don't get why you call me proud? I don't get that at all. Just because I stand behind what I believe doesn't make me arrogant. I'm very open to your arguments and if you present a descent arguement that goes against what I'm saying I would probably believe you.

What is there to think about? Jesus was around in Genesis. That light is not sun light, it's knowledge and enlightenment.

Gen 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Knowledge and enlightenment? I don't think so.

What day was the sun created?
Edit to say: What day was the sun and all the other heavenly bodies that emit light created?

Are you absolutely sure that "goings forth" did not mean "existence" or "origins" in the ancient talk/thinking?

I find it funny how we in our minds try to wrangle over where things are in scripture and where exactly was that written.

Here is the Holy Spirit who inspired the writer of Hebrews to say that "It was testified or was said somewhere...."...Do we think the Holy Spirit forgot where the verse was as He was inspiring the writer of the book of Hebrews to write truth?

Hebrews 2:6 (NASB)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] But one has testified somewhere, saying, "WHAT IS MAN, THAT YOU REMEMBER HIM? OR THE SON OF MAN, THAT YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT HIM?

Hebrews 4:4 (NASB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day: "AND GOD RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS WORKS";

KJV calls it "a certain place"....but the Greek word means "somewhere"..

I don't understand your point on that one.

I thought it was funny that the Holy Spirit who inspired this book of Hebrews had the writer to write - it says somewhere....it was as if the writer didn't know where in scripture it was written...and the reality of it was - that it really didn't matter in these instances.

Sometimes we can get nit-picky over the small things and fail to see the bigger picture that the Holy Spirit is really saying to us. This is what I see every time I see one of these "Which Bible is the real Bible threads".
