James says that is you break one law - you are guilty of them all. You can't pick and choose which law you will keep and which one you won't. The law of Moses is a packaged deal - it is either keep in all or come to Christ.

Im not perfect, I do sin.

1John 2:1 My little children, I write this to you, so that you do not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Intercessor with the Father, יהושע Messiah, a righteous One.

1John 2:2 And He Himself is an atoning offering for our sins, and not for ours only but also for all the world.

1John 2:3 And by this we know that we know Him, if we guard His commands.

1John 2:4 The one who says, “I know Him,” and does not guard His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1John 2:5 But whoever guards His Word, truly the love of Ylohim has been perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.

1John 2:6 The one who says he stays in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked.

1John 2:7 Beloved, I write no fresh command to you, but an old command which you have had from the beginning. The old command is the Word which you heard from the beginning.

1John 2:8 Again I write you a fresh command, which is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away, and the true light now shines.

and when I do sin:

1 John 1:8-10, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us."

We have shown the truth of the gospel of Christ and people that say we need to follow the law of Moses are perverting the gospel of the grace of Christ.

John (Yahchanan) 12:48, "He who rejects Me, and does not follow My words has One Who judges him. The word that I have spoken, the same will be used to judge him in the last day."

Matt 5:18, "For truly I say to you; Unless heaven and earth passes away, one yodh--the smallest of the letters--will in no way pass from the Law, until all things are perfected."

Revelation 21:1-2, "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no more sea. And I, Yahchanan, saw the holy city, YHWH Shammah, coming down from YHWH out of heaven, prepared as brides adorned for their husbands. And I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying: Behold, the tabernacle of YHWH is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and YHWH Himself will be with them, and be their Father.

I do not know how much more clear it can get.

Mattithyah 5:18-19, "For truly I say to you; Unless heaven and earth passes away, one yodh--the smallest of the letters--will in no way pass from the Law, until all things are perfected. Whosoever, therefore, will break one of the least of these Laws, and will teach men so, he will be called the least in the Kingdom of YHWH; but whosoever will do and teach them, the same will be called great in the Kingdom of YHWH."

Mattithyah 22:36-40, "Teacher, what is the greatest commandment in the Law? Yahshua said to him: You must love YHWH your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."

Mattithyah 7:12-14, "Therefore, all things you want men to do to you, do the same to them, for this is (the intent of the) Law and the Prophets. Enter in through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who go that way. Because straight is the gate, and narrow is the way which leads to life, and few there are who find it."

Yahchanan (John) 14:15, "If you love Me, keep My commandments."

I will trust the Holy Spirit within believers in Christ to reveal Jesus to them and to not fall for this religion - it exchanges Christ for the Law.
John 6:63, "It is the Spirit that gives life; the flesh is useless. The Words that I speak to you, they are Spirit, and they are life everlasting."

Isayah 8:20, "To the Law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them."

Revelation 12:17
New American Standard Bible
So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus.

The Scriptures
Rev 12:17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to fight with the remnant of her seed, those guarding the commands of Yah and possessing the witness of יהושע Messiah.

King James Bible
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

I will seek Yah in truth, Yahshua/Jesus Himself says noting will pass from the Law unless heaven and earth pas away, unless it already happened ? Then He says in Revelation "
those guarding the commands of Yah and possessing the witness of יהושע Messiah."

I will stand on His words.

HEY!! Welcome back sir!!

Yes I agree, I think that's one of the main issues. Consequently, concepts get fused together.

Happens when people don't recognize that God made more than one covenant in the Old testament and try to fuse all the verses together.

Anyway...responded because I read the first post and not the rest...going to step out now.

Revelation 14:12 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus
.

1 John 3:23-24 (NASB)
[SUP]23 [/SUP] This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.

[SUP]24 [/SUP] The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

The commandments of God in the New Covenant are explained very clearly in 1 John 3:23. It is NOT based on the law of Moses. The law of Moses is a goner for us that have died to the law in Christ. We live by His life now.

In the New Covenant the Father does not give us laws "to keep". He gives us the life that is in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ "to keep us".

Is this thread going to de-evolve into a hyper grace/Hebrew roots law keeping debate?

The Hebrew roots movement is its own thing and will either be declared a cult or a denomination.

I don't think we can lump all Hebrew Roots people in the same boat. Some are obviously attempting to Judaize others but I don't believe in throwing the baby out with the dirty water of others.

I love to listen to messages on how Christ can be seen in the feasts and in the Old Covenant as well as how the Hebrew words speak of Christ Himself. There are also others that are Jewish and so they have their own cultural background from which they can observe things - not for righteousness or salvation but because of their history.

There is much in the Old Covenant that speaks of Christ and it makes His work stand out and be exalted that much more when we see Him in it - fulfilling it all for us.

Don't you mean to ask how God's way of dealing with mankind changed from the Old covenant to the New covenant?

I would like to say something too, but most of posts are so long, that I do not know where to start...

Psalm 51:10, "Create in me a clean heart, O Yah; and renew a right spirit within me."

Jesus is the cornerstone of Israel, its final fulfillment and the beginning of the Kingdom of heaven
on earth.

After Jesus the communion with the Holy Spirit was very different than what went before, with the
spiritual gifts, guidance, the law of the Spirit rather than the law of Moses.

One could argue that the form of faith is up to the believer to construct.
So those who wish a jewish expression of christianity, amen, and those not, amen.

There is always the problem that the form can for some become the faith rather than
the meaning and contents, but this is always the problem of our perspective.

Aspergers style life is very regimented and safe, eliminating surprises. For others change
is what makes them happy and challenge. Faith can express both these positions, but often
cause confusion for people from either group that they are wrong, rather than this being more
of a personality and security of expression issue.

The covenant with Abraham is eternal and is a prophecy concerning the promised Seed, Christ Jesus not seeds..

The covenant with Moses and the Eyptian Israelites was conditional and broken often.,Moses warned through a song given to him by God of how they would break that covenant and it would be replaced with a better covenant mediated by Christ Jesus.

This "The covenant with Abraham is eternal and is a prophecy concerning the promised Seed, Christ Jesus not seeds" Is out right wrong, Scripture clealry says different, the body of Messiah IS the "SEED of ABRAHAM, heirs according to the promise":

Romans 9:6-8, "However, it is not as though YHWH's plan had failed. For it is not everyone who is a descendant of Israyl who belongs to Israyl. Nor, just because they are his descendants, are they all Abraham's children; but: In Isaac will your seed be called. That is, it is not those who are the children of the flesh who are YHWH's children; but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham's seed."

Psalm 105:6-9, "O seed of Abraham His servant, You children of Yaaqob, His chosen ones! He is YHWH our Father! His judgments are in all the earth. He has remembered His covenant forever, the Law He commanded for a thousand generations; Which He made; ratified, established, with Abraham, and vowed by His oath to Isaac. He confirmed it; let it stand, to Yaaqob for a Law, and to Israyl for an everlasting covenant."

Galations 3:28,29, "Is there not the Yahdai as well as the Greek; Gentile? Is there not the slave as well as the freeman? Is there not the male and the female? For all of you must be in unity in Yahshua Messiah. And if you are in Messiah, then you are a seed of Abraham, heirs according to the promise."

The covenant is mediated by the Messiah, however as shown in Psalm 105 above, "He has remembered His covenant forever"

and here:

Psalm 89:28,34:, "My mercy I will keep for Him forever and My covenant will stand fast with Him." v34"My covenant I will not break, nor will I change the Law that has gone out of My lips."

"
My covenant will stand fast with Him" "Him" being Yahshua/Jesus. Stand fast, as in renewed not done away and raplaced.

Is this thread going to de-evolve into a hyper grace/Hebrew roots law keeping debate?

The Hebrew roots movement is its own thing and will either be declared a cult or a denomination.

This thread is supposed to be about new/renewed, and what has changed since the transformation of the Covenant. Also just because I honor the Name of the Most High does not make me "Hebrew Roots" unless you think everyone honoring Sunday Sabbath is Catholic I think this is unfair, and an attempt to discredit and/or put me into a catagory and attach other peoples falsehoods to me.

Law/Grace or Instructions/Umerited Mercy are not in oppisition to each other:

Isayah 8:20, "To the Law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them."

Romans 3:31, "Are we then doing away with the Law through the faith? By no means! Rather, we establish the Law!"

Putting Law and Grace is a man made invention. However there are ways to misuse the Law or grace, but honored corretly they go hand in hand according to Scripture.

Happens when people don't recognize that God made more than one covenant in the Old testament and try to fuse all the verses together.

Anyway...responded because I read the first post and not the rest...going to step out now.

Again concerning the Covenant promise to Abraham, it will stand fast with the Messiah (repeated here and as shown above):

Psalm 89:28,34:, "My mercy I will keep for Him forever and My covenant will stand fast with Him." v34"My covenant I will not break, nor will I change the Law that has gone out of My lips."

Let's try to quote what the scripture actually says and not "add" our own words to them to change them to try to say what we want them to say.....for example Psalm 89:28,34

Psalm 89:28 (NASB)
[SUP]28 [/SUP] "My lovingkindness I will keep for him forever,And My covenant shall be confirmed to him.

Psalm 89:34 (NASB)
[SUP]34 [/SUP] "My covenant I will not violate, Nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.

You are over simplifying. So in rev 14:12 commandments and faith means faith and faith?

Yahshua taught the Law he proper way and walked in it, we are supposed to be as Messiah, plain and simple.

The Messiah said, "
On these two commandments hang all the Law" He also said:

Paul also understood this clearly as he said "
all other commandments are summed up in these Laws":

Romans 13:9-10, "For the commandments: You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not bring false testimony, You shall not covet, and all other commandments are summed up in these Laws; namely: You must love your neighbor as yourself. Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law."

Romans 8:1, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

1 John 2:6, "He who says he abides in Him, is himself also obligated to walk as He walked."

Revelation 14:12 (NASB)
The commandments of God in the New Covenant are explained very clearly in 1 John 3:23. It is NOT based on the law of Moses. The law of Moses is a goner for us that have died to the law in Christ. We live by His life now.

You are misusing "died to the law" Romans 8:2 is the icing and Romans 7 puts it in context:

Romans 7:7 What? Can anyone therefore say that the Law is sin? No! By no means! But to the contrary, I did not know sin; transgression of the Law, except through the Law, for I did not know lust, unless the Law had said: Do not covet.

12 Therefore the Law is holy, and the commandments are holy, and just, and righteous*.

13 Did that which is *righteous, then, become death to me?By no means! But in order that sin might be recognized as sin, it produced death in me through that which was righteous, so that through the commandments, sin might become utterly sinful.

14 For we know that the Law is spiritual; but I was carnal, sold into the power of sin.

16 And if I did what I did not want to do, I agreed that the Law is righteous.

17 As it was, it was no longer I myself who did it, but it was sin living in me.

22 For I delight in the Law of YHWH according to the inward man*;

23 But I saw another law* at work in the members of my body, waging war against the Law in my *mind, and bringing me into captivity of the *law of sin, which is in my members.

25 Thanks be to YHWH, I have deliverance through Yahshua Messiah our King! So then, with this same mind, I myself serve the Law of YHWH, while in the flesh that is yet subject to the law of sin.

Romans 8:2 Because through Yahshua Messiah, the Law of the Spirit has set me free from the law of sin and death.

Romans 7:14 For we know that the Law is spiritual; but I was carnal, sold into the power of sin.

Don't you mean to ask how God's way of dealing with mankind changed from the Old covenant to the New covenant?

It could be asked in this manner, not exactly what I was thinking, but helpful to the topic I believe!

It could be asked in this manner, not exactly what I was thinking, but helpful to the topic I believe!

Then I would say that the New covenant of grace, which Jesus brought in Himself, does not function on the basis of legal principles and precepts as the Old covenant did. The New covenant functions by the divine life and activity of the living resurrected Christ.

Under the New covenant of grace we have, "died to that (the Law) by which we were bound, so that we serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter (of the Law)" (Rom. 7:6). Our responsibility now, as New covenant Christians, is to live by faith in Jesus Christ - trusting and depending upon Him. He then produces His righteousness and His good fruit of the Spirit in and through us.

Interesting and thank you. I do agree Yahshua/Jesus is the Cornerstone! Without doubt! And I would not say the Instructions changed, but the Most High does say He will:

Ezekiyl 36:26-28, "A new heart; mind, will I also give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the heart of stone out of your flesh, and will give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments, and do them. And you will dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and you will be My people, and I will be your Father."

Yeremyah 31:33, "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israyl: After those days, says YHWH: I will put My Law (Torah) in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts, and I will be their Strength, and they will be My people."

Hebrews 10:16, "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says YHWH: I will put My Law into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them."

One could argue that the form of faith is up to the believer to construct.
So those who wish a jewish expression of christianity, amen, and those not, amen.

There is always the problem that the form can for some become the faith rather than
the meaning and contents, but this is always the problem of our perspective.

I do see it is viewed by many in this way. I believe much of it comes from us being so segmented and separated in society. I like this sports team you like that sports team, one is republican the other democrat, what denomination are you. When at the end of the day, to me, none of this matters, to me there is only, the Body of Messiah and everyone else. Also I do not view it as "a Jewish expression of Christianity", and I seek no distension, just a chance to explain myself as you seem very level minded, but rather seeking to understand the religion of Messiah's day and teaching. I think it important to understand some of the original languages in ancient Hebrew and Konie Greek. However I believe a name is a name, thus I seek to use transliterated names that match the pronunciation of their real names, and somehow this comes off as Jewish, but if anything IMO it's simply the truth. And I think you hit it on the head when you said, "but this is always the problem of our perspective" mine included, we are so used to my team vs your team that we forget we are all in this togather!

Romans 8:15-17, "For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, Abba, Father. The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of Yah, and if children, also heirs – truly heirs of Ylohim, and co-heirs with Messiah, if indeed we suffer with Him, in order that we also be exalted together."

Psalm 133:1, "See how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity."

Revelation 22:16
"I, Jesus, have sent My angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the bright Morning Star."

I think I agree in overall principle. I believe our focus has to be on Him, to guide us to His will and path - I want to post a Scripture to illustrate, and then I have a question.

John (Yahchanan) 15:4-6, "Abide in Me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot produce fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, produces much fruit; but without Me, you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away like a branch, and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned."

But would you say that the Instructions have changed from the "OT" to the "NT", and if so how? Now let me give a few of my thoughts as not to be setting you up, but to explain.

The Pharisees made their own law and Yahshua rebuked them for it in every instance He had with them, here is a single emaple:

Mattithyah 15:7-9, "Hypocrites! Well did Isayah(29:13-14)* prophesy of you, saying: These people draw near to Me with their mouth and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me. But in vain they do worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men."

*Isayah 29:13-14, "Therefore YHWH said: Because these people draw near to Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me, and their reverence to Me is taught by the precept of men; Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people; a marvelous work and a wonder; for the wisdom of their wise men will perish, and the understanding of their prudent men, will be hid."

So my thought and will is to worship YHWH in the way He wants, not in any man made way or in the way I choose. That is why I personally hold this topic in great interest.

Matt 7:12, "So then, whatever you desire that others would do to and for you, even so do also to and for them, for this is the Law and the Prophets."

Mattithyah 22:37-40, "Yahshua said to him: You must love YHWH your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."

1 John 5:2-3 (ESV), "By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome."

Again that is why I find it imperative to know and understand, for myself and others, what has been transformed, Scriptually speaking, concerning the Promise/Covenant.
