I didn't say there were errors in God's word. I said that there are "errors" in translations. ALL translations.
Not game-changing errors, but errors, nonetheless.

I see no indication that God ever said "I will preserve every word, punctuation mark, and smudge exactly the way they were written down by Moses, Matthew, Paul, etc..."

What God told us he would preserve are His words.... their meanings and intent. Translations will inevitably have small errors in spelling, nuance, etc.... but nothing that changes the essence of God's words to us.

EXCEPT the obvious, well known, purposeful MIS-TRANSLATIONS such as the ones for the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Mormons.

I agree

I see choosing a translation like buying a car... you pick one that has a good reputation.

(commentaries are also helpful)

Are you saying that God's word would contain errors? That would make God in error. There are no errors in God's word. So, we are left with either one Bible being God's word or no Bible is God's word.

'no Bible is God's word.'

that's correct in a strict sense.

God gave his word to the prophets and apostles.

I don't believe he guarantees that every handwritten copy will be exact, or every translator will be perfect.

Yes, but God did promise to preserve His words for every generation.

"That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth."
(Psalm 83:18 KJV)

Is the name of God Jehovah?

Instead of responding to my comment with a burden-of-proof reversal and another unsupported assertion, how about responding to the substance of my question: On what Scripture do you base your belief?

Also, you did not respond to the second part of my post... to wit, please provide EVIDENCE that the language of Lycaonia was Latin and not Greek at the time of Acts.

If you click on the blue link in the above post - it will take you to every place in Daniel where the "plural" form of "gods" is used and as you can see the KJV uses the plural in every place but the Dan. 3:25 one.

They clearly added their own bias and interpretation to the text because in every other place the KJV accurately translated the "plural" Hebrew word as "gods"...except for Dan. 3:25
I say that, now my question is, why does Blue letter bible not show elahin?

I think you were talking to me.

we can go into more details if you want, but the bottom line is that they just don't match.

to me this says the Bible isn't word-perfect... but the doctrine is maintained.
is it true that not one single bible version matches?

No that is a mistake made from added vowel points that were not a part of the manuscripts until after 900 AD.

Isaiah 42:8 “I am יהוה, that is My Name, and My esteem I do not give to another, nor My praise to idols"

יהוה

is

YHWH

After reading through several pages to catch up, I just realized that my view of inerrancy is completely different than everybody here, including the KJV only people. I would like to give my position on inerrancy and what I mean by there are no errors in the bible.

I believe the word of God is a concept, not the words written on the page. There are many different ways a concept can be conveyed and the conveyance isn't bound by any language. So when the KJV doesn't match the original languages, that means nothing to me as far as being evidence of a translational error. In my view if the concept is conveyed accurately then there are no errors.

Every time I debate this subject I always get pulled into Greek and Hebrew arguments of which I know nothing about nor do I care to know about it. Translational errors and corruptions in my view are related to incorrect conveyance of the concept.

It's basically a bible study tool
it allows you to view the original text word by word with the english on the side

Me neither lol. Somebody told me that's where the Greek words for the KJV can be found.

LOL....the one that I use on the net is Biblehub.

I have one on my software program too which is called Wordsearch 10. The interlinear is called "The Complete Biblical Library Interlinear Bible" which has the exact same thing in it for Dan. 3:25

Here is a example of the Biblehub one showing all the uses of the Hebrew word for gods in the plural. This one on the net is easier to copy and put on here for people to look at if interested.

Hebrew Concordance: ’ĕ·lā·hîn -- 9 Occurrences

I encourage you and others to use this resource as it will greatly enhance your study of the word of God. The Holy Spirit uses this to highlight truth that He is revealing to us about Jesus and His work.

Could you do that for Daniel 3:25 also? I tried to, but I couldn't figure out how to copy it.

Yeah, I am curious what explanation will KJV Only guys invent :)

But they will most probably ignore it.
