Well, I wouldn't say it's satanic, but it sure is hard on the women in my family. We have to start cooking the night before...lol
The women in your family cook? Cool.

Understandable. You may find it interesting to know that when the Most High commanded these, he said, forever, and even Paul honored them, and we know there is only one way now, that way is Yahshua/Jesus, not 2 ways one for Jew and one for Gentile. Finally ALL of them are about Yahshua/Jesus, created by Yah, and only 3 of the 7 have been fulfilled, the last 4 are about His return.

“For just as the new heavens and the new earth
Which I make will endure before Me,” declares the Lord,
“So your offspring and your name will endure.
[SUP]23 [/SUP]“And it shall be from new moon to new moon
And from sabbath to sabbath,
All [SUP][m][/SUP]mankind will come to bow down before Me,” says the Lord.
I'm sure Paul did honor Jewish feasts... he was a Pharisee, you know...
[SUP]8 [/SUP]See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, [SUP][h][/SUP]rather than according to Christ. [SUP]9 [/SUP]For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, [SUP]10 [/SUP]and in Him you have been made [SUP][i][/SUP]complete, and He is the head [SUP][j][/SUP]over all rule and authority; [SUP]11 [/SUP]and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ; [SUP]12 [/SUP]having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. [SUP]13 [/SUP]When you were dead [SUP][k][/SUP]in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, [SUP]14 [/SUP]having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. [SUP]15 [/SUP]When He had [SUP][l][/SUP]disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through [SUP][m][/SUP]Him.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Therefore no one is to [SUP][n][/SUP]act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath [SUP][o][/SUP]day— [SUP]17 [/SUP]things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the [SUP][p][/SUP]substance [SUP][q][/SUP]belongs to Christ.
1After reading this thread I've come The the conclusion most don't know the history of thanksgiving.
Heres a summary.... pilgrims came to America to escape religious persecution. They befriended some Indians and fellowshipped together thanking GOD and singing praises to Him.
The women in your family cook? Cool.![]()
You and I generally agree anyway lol. I betcha if we knew each other in real life we would probably be close friends. That's the bummer about this site. Great people but they all love too far away.1
Check my post, you and I agree!![]()
Again.... Paul was a JEW. He did those things because it was his culture and heritage. We are not Jews, and we do not keep Jewish feasts... those feasts were simply a shadow of things to come... which was the new kingdom of Jesus...
If you choose to keep Jewish festivals and new moons, etc.... good for you. If you try to make it binding on all believers, you are definitely wrong.
This year I will probably have Thanksgiving dinner later in the evening with my in-laws.

Paul also said something like this...if one man thinks certain days are holy and another thinks every day is holy, let every man follow his conscience, because if he thinks something would be sinning and he does it anyway (or doesn't) then for him, it IS sin, because he isn't following his conscience.
That is highly paraphrased and I may be mashing together different verses, but this is how I understand it and how He taught me to see it. God is looking for men who will worship Him in spirit and truth and give Him their whole heart. If they do that, God is pleased. We are not leaving anything undone if we give Him our whole heart and seek Him every day.
We have to let men follow their own conscience and what the Spirit speaks to them. We have to.
Romans 14 is what you might be referring to..
Apparently people do not know the history of thanksgiving. The Pilgrims, giving thanks for the first harvest after a long hard winter after leaving the tyranny of England to come to a new world with freedom of religion were the first to establish a day of thanks. George Washington also established a day of thanks,
Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and—Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me “to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:”
Lincoln also established a national day of thanks during the civil war...
...at the height of the Civil War, in a proclamation entreating all Americans to ask God to “commend to his tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife” and to “heal the wounds of the nation.” He scheduled Thanksgiving for the final Thursday in November, and it was celebrated on that day every year until 1939 from the History Channel
Thanksgiving was not about taking only one day of the year to be thankful,it was and is about a national day of Thanksgiving. It happened after the first hard winter the Pilgrims survived,it happened during civil war, it happened during peace. It was nationally acknowledging the providence and provision of God. Because it has been corrupted by merchandising does not change the reason for the holiday. My family has never shopped on black Friday either.
