Thanks, Obama. With three years of Obamacare, the nation has hit another milestone. The Centers of Disease Control announced Thursday that the uninsured rate fell below 9 percent in the first half of this year, the lowest percentage it's recorded.
The uninsured rate held steady from the end of 2015, slightly declining to 8.9 percent, or 28.4 million people, the CDC report says. The share of uninsured Americans fell more than 5 percentage points since 2013, the year before the Affordable Care Act’s coverage expansion took effect.
This latest survey of the uninsured population underscores what the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, has achieved in its first three years of being fully online. The uninsured rate had hovered around 15 percent in previous years, until the health care reform law’s expansion of Medicaid to poor adults, and introduction of subsidized private health insurance for low- and moderate-income families became available.
This a remarkable accomplishment, particularly considering what a fight it has been, and that Republican states are still fighting it. Not just Republican states, but Republican assholes who don't have anything better to do than jam the Minnesota health insurance exchange phone line with robocalls, preventing people from getting information and signing up. Because Republicans have turned into monsters. It's not enough to say they want to repeal the law, and to keep it at that higher, policy level. No, they have to try to bring it to a personal level, where they are keeping individuals, real people, from getting the health insurance they have a total right to, that they'll be paying for. And keeping those individual people from using their own money to buy their own insurance—yes, with some government assistance, just like people who have employer-based plans get help from their workplace—that's been the primary motivating force for Republicans for the last six years. Because they are monsters. There are plenty of problems with Obamacare, as there is with the entire healthcare system in the U.S. Hillary Clinton and Democrats will work to fix it. They recognize that this law has achieved something great, and can only get better. That's why we have to elect them. That's why we have to put this fight away for good.
You might have a point there - all the delusional right wingers said he was going to take away your guns but he didn't unlike Bush - that's why so many wasted their money on guns they didn't need!

the right wingers always blamed Obama for every problem under the sun, now they are doing the same with Hillary - and, as usual, they will not present a shred of evidence to prove their claims = desperation borne of hate
