The Law of Moses is for Jews. Not for Gentiles.

Gentiles are held under the law of their own heart. As Christians in Christ we come in under Abraham. Not Moses.

Abraham was blessed that his seed would bless all nations. Because Abraham was before the law. This is the inclusion of the Gentiles into the gospel of Christ. Even the people who WERE held under the law of Moses, were not saved by the law. They were saved under the promise of Abraham, believe in your heart and it will be credited as righteousness.

Moses died before he went to the promise land because the law doesn't belong in the promise land. Remember it was Joshua who brought them into the promise land. Joshua is the name of Jesus. And studies show where Jesus walked on the water He was following the same path Joshua kept.

Joshua/Jesus/Yeshua brings us into the promise land. Now, please note the promise land is not a place that you earn what is yours. No, Israel received a promise and inheritance that wasn't theirs. It was given to them. You do not earn your place in the promise land.

Adam was told he would work the land and it would not give it's increase. But the promise land gave plenty of increase. Because it wasn't about Israel working it, but in God giving it. The same is thus with Salvation.

Where people get this twisted is thinking that you can "make yourself saved". You can't. It wouldn't be a gift. That doesn't mean we don't live saved though. Because our "salvation" does more than just renew our spirit. It also works it's way through our soul. And this is repentance/renewing of the mind.

One of the biggest issues today is people thinking the Kingdom of God isn't here today. Even though Jesus said it is within us, among us, and He gave His Spirit. Because people think the Kingdom of God is coming, they have no regard for following the King today. They say, oh I'll be saved, instead of oh I am saved. Because of this being a "disciple" has been relagated to being someone who argues with Scripture. And this is so far from the truth.

Being a disciple is living like Jesus lived. It is loving one another. Laying our lives down for each other like He did for us. And it is following the Spirit of God. This is the Kingdom of God that we live in. This is the promise land.

Yes, there is more Kingdom to come. But that doesn't detract from Jesus' rule and reign through Holy Spirit today.

Matt 5:18, "For truly I say to you; Unless heaven and earth passes away, one yodh--the smallest of the letters--will in no way pass from the Law, until all things are perfected."

Revelation 21:1-2, "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no more sea. And I, Yahanan, saw the holy city, YHWH Shammah, coming down from YHWH out of heaven, prepared as brides adorned for their husbands. And I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying: Behold, the tabernacle of YHWH is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and YHWH Himself will be with them, and be their Father.

Isayah 42:21, "YHWH is well-pleased, for His righteousness' sake, to magnify the Law, and make it honorable"

Mattithyah 5:18-19, "For truly I say to you; Unless heaven and earth passes away, one yodh--the smallest of the letters--will in no way pass from the Law, until all things are perfected. Whosoever, therefore, will break one of the least of these Laws, and will teach men so, he will be called the least in the Kingdom of YHWH; but whosoever will do and teach them, the same will be called great in the Kingdom of YHWH."

Mattithyah 22:36-40, "Teacher, what is the greatest commandment in the Law? Yahshua said to him: You must love YHWH your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."

Mattithyah 7:12-14, "Therefore, all things you want men to do to you, do the same to them, for this is (the intent of the) Law and the Prophets. Enter in through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who go that way. Because straight is the gate, and narrow is the way which leads to life, and few there are who find it."

Dont hate me it is Scripture.

Romans 2:12,14-15, "For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law. 14 For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves, 15 in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them."

Ezekiyl 36:26-28, "A new heart; mind, will I also give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the heart of stone out of your flesh, and will give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments, and do them. And you will dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and you will be My people, and I will be your Father."

Yeremyah 31:33, "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israyl: After those days, says YHWH: I will put My Law (Torah) in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts, and I will be their Strength, and they will be My people."

Hebrews 10:16, "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says YHWH: I will put My Law into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them."

Isayah 56:1-7, "This is what Yahweh says: Keep the judgments, and do justly; for My salvation is near, soon, to come, and My righteousness to be revealed. Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who lays hold on it; who keeps the Sabbaths without polluting; defiling, them; and keeps his hand from doing dany evil. Do not let the son of the Gentile, who has joined himself to Yahweh, speak, saying; Yahweh has utterly separated me from His people. Nor let the eunuch say; Behold, I am a dry tree. For this is what Yahweh says: To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths, and choose those things which eplease Me, and hold fast to My covenant: I will give to them, in My House, even within My walls, a place; ministering position with power, and a Name equal to that of sons and of daughters; I will give them the Name of The Everlasting: YAHWEH; which will not be cut off. Also the sons of the Gentile who join themselves to Yahweh, to serve Him, and to love the Name of Yahweh, to be His servants--everyone who keeps the Sabbaths without polluting; de filing, them and who holds fast to My covenant--I will bring them to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My House of prayer..."

Exodus 12:48-49, "And when a stranger lives among you and wants to sacrifice the Passover to Yahweh, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near, and sacrifice it; and he shall be as a native of the land. But no uncircumcised person shall eat of it. One Law shall be for the nativeborn and for the stranger who dwells among you."

Was the Sabbath abolished?
Should Christians observe the 4th commandment?
Or is it still in effect like the other 9 commandments?

Please respond with biblical evidence :)

The ten commandments are moral laws, laws of love, which are part of the two greatest commandments, love God,and love people.

Paul said we do not void out the law through faith, but we establish the law,and the law is spiritual, and holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

Since the moral laws, laws of love, are spiritual, they must always be obeyed, and the ten commandments are spiritual,so we have to obey the Sabbath for they are part of the ten commandments.

But in the New Testament that is spiritual, the Sabbath changed from a physical day of rest,to a spiritual rest by the Holy Spirit.

We now keep the Sabbath in a spiritual sense.

Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Col 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Jesus took the physical ordinances of Israel out of the way nailing them to His cross, for they were contrary to us,because they have no bearing on spiritual salvation,so let no person judge you concerning the physical Sabbath days, which means they cannot tell you to keep them, for they are a shadow of things to come, but the body is of Christ.

Isa 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
Isa 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
Isa 28:12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

When we receive the Spirit,it is a spiritual rest, and a spiritual Sabbath.

Yet some people will not hear.

Romans 2 is just telling us that the gentiles have a form of the Law in their hearts from the fall of Adam.

The Law is a manifestation of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. We are not to eat from that tree - but from the tree of Life which is Christ Himself.

Law-keepers always exchanged Christ for the Law.

" Believers in Christ have died to the Law - have been released from the Law and are NOT under the Law but under grace only" - what part of this is not true?

Do you not know that if James said if you offend in one part of the Law - you are guilty of it all?

Paul said that you need to do the whole law and not just parts of it.

Let me ask you one question: If a Christian does not observe the Sabbath Day as outlined in the Old Covenant where they observe from Friday night until saturday and all that goes with that - are they dis-obeying God?

Here it is, plain and simple:

Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Those who can't see the direct connection between these two are wilfully blind. The Sabbath was made by God before sin entered the world. This is an indisputable fact.

Jesus came to abolish sin and sinful things. Not things he himself instituted before sin came into the world.

Law-keepers always exchanged Christ for the Law.

God calls us to obedience, and Satan will always ask you to compromise.

Like you said yourself, the law was always placed on mans heart since the fall of Adam. If that is not the clue for you that the law is still valid, I don't know what is? :)

Grace we know God does not change, we also know that Satan corrupts everything. We should follow Jesus, the living law, and see how he desire us to live His law. Your name is the clue...................

"For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.”The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, “The person who does these things will live by them.”Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit."

If you are trusting in anything other than the finished work of Christ as a means for salvation, whether it be keeping the Sabbath, abstaining from foods, the ten commandments or whatever it is that you are trusting in by your own efforts, it will have the opposite affect, keeping the person out of eternal life.

As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The first point I would make is no I don't trust in keeping the Sabbath or not killing or doing good or anything aside from Christ. I am however confused on how this then relates to my post which just points out some bible facts.

Because it appears that you are promoting the Sabbath as a means of salvation. A necessity.

ok thanx for the reply. I don't see the Sabbath as a means of salvation, just as I don't see obeying God in anything as a means of salvation. I don't see baptism as a means of salvation or anything other than a complete Faith in Jesus.

ps putting God first is not a means of salvation but those who are saved will do it.

Not worshipping Idols is not a means of salvation but those who are saved and love God will not worship them.

Ok, my apologies! I thought that your post was just another of those who promote the law as a means of salvation.

That Law being on the hearts of people is the very thing that Christ came to redeem us from. He came to give us life - we are to eat from the tree of life which is Christ Himself and NOT the tree of the knowledge of good and evil which was brought into us from the fall of Adam.

God does not change what He says? What about Ex 32:33 where He says that anyone who has sinned is blotted out of His book. What about when He told Abraham to NOT slay His son.

If we were thinking God does not change things than Abraham would be slaying Isaac because it is the "commandment of the Lord" We need to be listening to the now word of God which is Christ - Himself. Heb 1:1-2

The call to obedience is to be obedient to the faith. Jewish priests that keep the Law as they saw it still needed to be "obedient to the faith" Being obedient to the faith is relying on Christ for all things for life and living and NOT in the keeping of the Law of Moses.

Christians have died to the Law, been released from the Law, and are NOT under the Law of Moses but under grace only. How does it get much plainer than that?

Acts 6:7 (NASB)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] The word of God kept on spreading; and the number of the disciples continued to increase greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were becoming obedient to the faith.

I will ask you the same question - if a Christian does not keep the Sabbath as is outlined in the Law of Moses - are they dis-obeying God?

WE note that you mainly quote the Old Testament before the Sabbath rest was fulfilled (Heb 4), and that you cite from Roman 1.18-3.19 which was Paul telling us that the Law was showing us our condemnation so that we might be justified in Christ apart from the deeds of the Law.

You forget the NEW has come!

It goes along with your fictitious Hebrew.

Here it is, plain and simple:

Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

Those who can't see the direct connection between these two are wilfully blind. The Sabbath was made by God before sin entered the world. This is an indisputable fact.

Jesus came to abolish sin and sinful things. Not things he himself instituted before sin came into the world.

LOL then I dispute the indisputable,

The seventh day in Gen 2 is still going on. God is resting from His Creative work It is finished! It was NOT stated to be the Sabbath.

The passage in Exod 20 was simply citing the pattern.

As for the law written in the heart, before Moses the Sabbath was unknown even to Israel. It was equally unknown outside Israel. It is never mentioned before Exod 16. The Sabbath was a sign for Israel

Paul didn't stand for Judaizers coming in to tell people that now that they have come to Christ - they must keep the Law of Moses. Of which circumcision was the sign of the covenant - not only of Abraham but also of the Mosaic covenant.

Circumcision is the "keeping of the Law of Moses". This is a representation of all the Laws of Moses.

Anyone that says we must keep the law of Moses or we are dis-obeying God is perverting the gospel of Christ and is by Paul's definition - a Judaizer. Plain and simple.

Here is Paul's response to this group of people that are distorting and perverting the gospel of Christ. He didn't stand for it for even one hour so that the truth of the gospel would remain with the Galatians.

Galatians 2:3-5 (NASB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] But not even Titus, who was with me, though he was a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised.

[SUP]4 [/SUP] But it was because of the false brethren secretly brought in, who had sneaked in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, in order to bring us into bondage.

[SUP]5 [/SUP]
But we did not yield in subjection to them for even an hour, so that the truth of the gospel would remain with you.

Interesting they ate and fasted from eating "manna" which means;......“what is it?” Having it (what is it?) in respect to words not as our own thoughts generation from self... but the thoughts of God. Showing us it (the word of God) is foreign from the understanding of our own hearts. As in who could know it their own heart ?

Exodus 16:35 And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.

The outward one time demonstration of the unseen work of God resting on the Sabbath was over.I think we can see that knowing there is two different rendering (Exodus and Deuteronomy) of one event one work of God

As Egypt is used to typify as all kingdoms of this world, under the authority of the god of this world. The god of this world is typified by the Pharaoh . And Canaan as that seen ( the temporal) represented the eternal land not seen (the new heavenly Jerusalem), as the bride of Christ, the church, the spiritual house of God .

In that sense the one demonstration of the rest of God, shown as the reason in the other rendering of the ten commandments, from the foundation of the world was over.

We continue to walk by faith, as it is written and not by sight after our own experiences .But do walk after the faith of Christ, as in Manna ...what is it? As to who we abide in. And as we keep it (guard with our hearts soul and mind ) as a ceremonial law and not something we could judge one another in respect to, as if it was a moral law.

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow “of things to come”; but the body is of Christ.. Col 2:16

I think most people have Saturday and/or Sunday off work.
